NKX6-1
Homeobox protein Nkx-6.1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the NKX6-1 gene.[5][6]
Function
In the pancreas, NKX6.1 is required for the development of beta cells and is a potent bifunctional transcription regulator that binds to AT-rich sequences within the promoter region of target genes.[6]
gollark: Oh, I've heard of that and never used it seriously.
gollark: ubqoral was of course originally named by me some time back when I named something the "ubqoral consortium".
gollark: ubqoral was formed from the merger of ubq323 and coral.
gollark: citrons? ubqoral?
gollark: Technically, yes, however æ.
