2020 United States House of Representatives elections in Illinois
The 2020 United States House of Representatives elections in Illinois will be held on November 3, 2020, to elect the 18 U.S. Representatives from the state of Illinois, one from each of the state's 18 congressional districts. The elections will coincide with the 2020 U.S. presidential election, as well as other elections to the House of Representatives, elections to the United States Senate and various state and local elections.

The 1st district takes in the South Side of Chicago, the southern suburbs of Chicago, and continues southwest to Joliet. The incumbent is Democrat Bobby Rush, who was re-elected with 73.5% of the vote in 2018.[1]

The incumbent is Republican John Shimkus, who was re-elected with 70.9% of the vote in 2018.[1] Shimkus announced he would not be seeking re-election on August 30, 2019.[164] After briefly considering reversing his retirement plans, Shimkus reaffirmed his decision to not run on November 4, 2019.[165]
