The inhabitants are called Villebonnais.
It is not to be confused with Villebon-sur-Yvette, a commune outside Paris that is 83 km (52 mi) to the south of here. In 1922, following confusions with this commune of Villebon, sur-Yvette, in reference to the river which runs on its territory.
