Music chamber

The music chamber was a room in the Palace of Shadows, where musicians could play.

History

Prior to -59 ᴇ.ʏ., Most High Academes could entertain guests by stationing a quartet of musicians in the chamber.

The chamber was still tended by Tweezel, the palace's curator, from -59 ᴇ.ʏ. to 1 ᴇ.ʏ., even while there were no other residents of the palace. In 15 ᴇ.ʏ., the room was destroyed by fire, when the Palace of Shadows burnt down.

Layout

The chamber was located on the second floor of the palace, just along the corridor from the Portrait Gallery, Gift Chamber and kitchen gallery.[1]

Inside, there was a raised platform on which stood a klavinette. Beside that were three chairs, each with an instrument on it:

  • A string instrument
  • A wind instrument
  • An instrument made from the carapace of a giant barkbeetle, with a hollow length of lufwood and woodcat gut, as well as a bow
