Woodcats

Woodcats were medium-sized felines that lived in the Deepwoods. To ward off attackers, they would hiss and bare their rapier-sharp teeth. They fed on small, tree-dwelling mammals such as lemkins and weezits, and were therefore adept climbers, and pounced on their prey quickly. Woodcat gut was used as the strings of certain instruments. They were mentioned in The Curse of the Gloamglozer, The Last of the Sky Pirates and Doombringer.

Linguistics

Due to their fast reactions, the phrase "like a woodcat on a weezit" became used to describe when someone jumped at an opportunity.
