Birthing-chamber

The birthing-chamber was a room within the Palace of Shadows. It was the place where the wives of Most High Academes would give birth.

In early Sanctaphrax, when all Most High Academes lived in the palace, it would have been used for most children of the High Academes. However, it was left unused for more than 60 years between the death of the last earth-scholar High Academe and the election of Linius Pallitax.

In 1 ᴇ.ʏ., Yena Pallitax gave birth to her daughter Maris in the room. Yena died during the birth, but the baby survived.[1] The room was destroyed by fire when the palace burnt down in 15 ᴇ.ʏ..
