Formidable Magic. Vaati has advantage on any saving throw made to maintain concentration on a spell he has cast. Any ability check made to dispel a spell Vaati has cast is made with disadvantage.

Weak Point. Any attacks made against Vaati's eye bypass his immunities and resistances, radiant damage also does triple damage rather than double. Any attack roll made as a called shot, such as against this weak point, is normally made with disadvantage.

Detachable Limbs. Vaati can detach his two arms, creating portals on a surface where one of them sprout out of, able to attack a creature the Bat-Wing Claws attack within 10 feet of the arm. Once Vaati reaches half of his hit points (105) one of his arms is destroyed. When he reaches a quarter of his hit points (52) his second arm is destroyed. When both of Vaati's arms are destroyed he can no longer use his Bat-Wing Claw attack.

Undying Evil. When Vaati is reduced to 0 hit points or dies, his body is destroyed but his essence travels back to his palace in the skies and is able to take physical form for a time. However, this can be prevented with a seal such as that of the Master Sword

Spellcasting. Vaati is an 18th-level spellcaster. His innate spellcasting ability is Wisdom (spell save DC 23, +13 to hit with spell attacks). Vaati can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components:

At will: death bolt
3/day each: bestow curse, call lightning, fireball, lightning bolt, misty step, touch wind, wind walk
2/day each: bestow curse (cast as a 6th level spell), dead man's volley, haste, thunder, tornado, whirlwind, Wizzro's blast

Legendary Resistance (3/Day). If Vaati fails a saving throw, he can choose to succeed instead.

ACTIONS

Multiattack. Vaati makes three attacks.

Bat-Wing Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 17 (2d12 + 4) piercing damage.

LEGENDARY ACTIONS

Vaati can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. Vaati regains spent legendary actions at the start of his turn.

Detect. Vaati makes a Wisdom (Perception) check.
Detachable Limbs. Vaati uses his detachable limbs ability to cause one of his arms to sprout out of a dark portal in any unoccupied space he can see within 120 feet of him.
Bat-Wing Claws (Uses 2 Actions). Vaati makes one Bat-Wing claw attack.
Lightning Bolt. Vaati casts lightning bolt, expending a use as normal.

Vaati's demon form is a horrific abomination.
Source

Demon Vaati is the abomination that Vaati transforms into once he reaches 0 hit points. When Vaati transforms into Demon Vaati his entire stat block is changed to this form, he does not regain any legendary actions or legendary resistances, however he is cured of all diseases and conditions inflicting him.

gollark: Also, dragons aren't yet autoupdated, but I think I'll make them autoupdate at a rate of once a minute - does that seem OK or should it be lower?
gollark: There should be some occasional downtime while I push a few updates over the next few somethings.
gollark: I'm not *that* useless. Dead eggs, frozen hatchlings, and adults, are banned.
gollark: And no, it does not.
gollark: I did test it, yes.
