Ear Worm/Anime
Another proof of Japan's excellence in weird and catchy things. You'd think not being able to understand Japanese would help, but nooooo...
Looks like almost all anime has at least one piece of music tailored to be an earworm, as a huge amount of them succeed. If you don't remember about a music featured in a series, you usually don't remember about the series at all.
Helpful Tip: Don't just leave some Japanese lyrics and a YouTube link; naming the series is much preferred. Additionally, YouTube videos have a tendency to disappear, and then nobody will get to have your song stuck in their head... and you wouldn't want that, would you? Consider using Rutube, with an online translator (such as BabelFish) if you need help navigating the site; quality will suffer, but as copyrights in Russia are rarely enforced videos on RuTube will not go down.
The Pokémon anime has its own page of ear worms.
90% of anime theme songs. Specific examples are below:
- All of the below can be traced back to the English version of the original Astro Boy. Any and all complaints about modern anime OP causing ear worms can be directed to Fred Ladd, who decided to add lyrics to the then instrumental Japanese OP since it wasn't catchy enough. This caused Osamu Tezuka to add lyrics to later seasons of Astro Boy since he liked the effect, which caused everyone to add catchy lyrics to their anime OP since they also liked it. Everyone, sing along!
There you go, Astro Boy, on your flight into space
Rocket hi~gh, through the sk~y, for adventures soon you will face!
Astro Boy, bombs away, on your mission today
Here's the countdown, and the blastoff, everything is go Astro Boy!
Astro Boy, as you fly
Strange new worlds you will find
Atom celle~d, jet propelle~d, fighting monsters, high in the sky!
Astro Boy, there you go!
Will you find friend or foe?
Cosmic ran~ger, lots of dan~ger, everything is go Astro Boy!
Crowds will cheer you, you're a hero, as you go, go, go Astro Boy!
- Ever got a waltz stuck in your head? Now you do. Da dara da da daaah, da DAH duh duh DAH duh...
- Yuru-Yuri's OP. Yu. Yiyu. Ra, ra, ra, ra YuruYuri, Yu. Yiyu. Ra, ra, ra, ra Yuru-Yuri, Yu. Yiyu. Ra, ra, ra, ra Yuru-Yuri, Di! Ich! Chi Kay Oom!
- The song doesn't stop there, though, the thing is dangerously catchy.
- The whole soundtrack of the Baccano! anime. Especially the OP, Gun's & Roses by Paradise Lunch. Jazzy goodness by Yoshimori Makoto.
- TRUSTMETRUSTMETRUSTMETRUSTME
- What, no one mentioned Durarara!!'s openings yet? I'm disappointed.
- Martian Successor Nadesico's opening - YOU GET TO BURNING!. This Troper had it controlling his brain for weeks.
- It's the horns/trumpets/whatever. They sound cool. And then it keeps getting better.
- An American example: Doo do-doodoo, do DOODOO! (Ironically this one is far, far more famous than the Japanese opening.)
- Another example from the same company: SABEEEER RIDEEEEEEER And The Star Sherrifs! Again, nobody remembers the Japanese version; say "Saber Rider" to any child of the 80s in America and they'll start ramming their heads against the wall.
- From Kinnikuman we have this. Heil Brocken!
- KE KE KE KE KENDAMAN!
- DEVIL, DEVIL, BUFFALO ZANGYAKU NUMBER ONE!
- The dub for the sequel Kinnikuman Nisei (known as Ultimate Muscle: The Kinnikuman Legacy in the U.S.) had the catchy theme song of UL-TI-MATE MUSCLE!. You know you're pumped up and primed for action after hearing that theme.
- YANMANI YANMANI YANMANI YAI-YA~
- "Welcome to the tale of a land conquered by evil..."
- Say what you may about the dub or the song -- Rave Master's dub theme (by none other than Reel Big Fish) is ungodly catchy.
- Berserk has the unforgettable "HAIIIIIII YAI FOOOOOOR-CES!!! HAIIIIIII YAI FOOOOOOR-CES!!!"
- Panty and Stocking With Garterbelt has the great Fallen Angel ED. Specially true when you're seeing the actual ending.
- Hare Hare Yukai. Aru hareta hi no koto...
- By extension, God Knows and Lost my Music.
- Antimatter-dispersing oscillations perceived as sound waves.
- The one of Haruhi-chan: "Taimu mashin hitori no ri desho, rekishin nurikae tara soushuuhen!".
- MI MI MIRAKURU, MIKURUN-RUN!
- And of course the new opening of the second season! SUPER DRIVER!
- And how exactly did "Bouken Desho Desho?" miss this list?
- ah-ahah-ahah...
- Pitan, tan-tan-mojipittan!
- You can also download that song here (it's the only three-minute song there). You're welcome.
- JIBUUUUN WO! COLORS from Code Geass. By God what a rush.
- The second intro, Kaidoku Funou, has a chorus which will glue to your head for at least a month.
- The chorus of the second ED theme, Mosaic Kakera, is also really bad about this. Mo-sa-i-ku, ka-ke-ra, doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo-doo...
- The show's final opening, "WORLD END" (by the group that did COLORS).
- The song that plays during Lelouch's death. Cute, powerful, and almost guarenteed to make you cry. "Continued Story" by Hitomi.
- The show's final opening, "WORLD END" (by the group that did COLORS).
- Siegfried, the song that played while Lelouch was revealing his plan to Geass "God".
- Innocent Days - the song that played during Euphemia's death scene. Know what 'hauntingly beautiful' sounds like.
- The fourth opening, O2. I CONTINUE TO FIGHT! I CONTINUE TO FIIIIIGHT!
- No love for the third OP, Hitomi no Tsubasa? For a song that only played in one or two episodes, this troper couldn't stop listening to it fo--ISSHUUUUUUUUUUUUUN WO OSHIEEEEEETEEEEEEEEEEEE
- This adorable character song. After listening to it for 15 minutes straight, this troper became convinced that the world does indeed need a third season of Code Geass. Starring Tianzi.
- Kallen's character song. See for yourself.
- "Call Tobor, the 8th man!"
- Motteke! Sailor Fuku... my darling darling please!...
- Also Kaeshite! Knee Socks
- And they created their own official NicoNico Douga in the second remix album. Terrific way to get most of their Image Songs in your head in one song.
- There is also a remix of both Hare Hare Yukai and Motteke! Sailor Fuku. Also, they only included the catchy parts.
- This Troper guarantees you that whether you like Hiyori or hate her, you WILL have Default Joshikousei Nyan stuck in your head for days.
- Pegasus Fantasy.
- Soldier Dream. , too.
- The European Spanish intro for the Latin American fans, up to the point of being a meme amongst them.
- This is pretty much the point of any Dancing Theme.
- "Lum's Love Song", the first opening for Urusei Yatsura (Suki yo.. Suki yo...)
- The later one that goes "You are watching me, I am watching you" is also tres catchy.
- "Cosmic Cycler! Cosmic Cycler. Lun Lun Lun away home!!" Oh god. It sticks in the head.
- ROCK THE PLANET! ROCK THE PLANET, BABY! ROCK THE PLANET - FOR EVERYONE!!! Seriously, Opening 5, video and all, is just The Eighties concentrated into a minute thirty seconds of awesomeness.
- Anything from Demashita! Powerpuff Girls Z. This troper was listening to them on repeat constantly. Especially Jig the Upper. Whoa Woah Yeah Sunshine Powa!
- Komm, susser tod. Oh jesus christ on a cracker. What makes it even worse is, you're likely to get sent to a mental institution if you sing the actual lyrics in public.
- The song with lyrics for convenience.
- This Troper is now determined to try that.
- Za-n-koku na tenshi no you ni...
- Hinagiku's version too.
- Also, The Beast II. A hauntigly powerful Dark Reprise of one of the fighting scenes' BGM's, which plays during the more tragic and nightmare-inducing action sequences towards the end. Specially during this troper's personal favourite. In episode 19, when Eva-01 goes berserk after a hard fight with Zeruel, she curb-stomps him easily then start to eat the angel's S2 Organ, while making a hellish howling *shudders*, the song fits perfectly in the scene's terrifying mood and Yui's slowed-down growl of agony, inside Unit-01. And I still catch myself humming it occasionally.
- LET'S STAY TOGETHER ALWAYS! That ending theme filled with concentrated cuteness, too. Remembering correctly, it had something to do with happy dinners and episode recaps. Eh, Fruits Basket IS concentrated cuteness.
- Not to mention this little Music Box tune, which the troper finds to be a worse offender than the two themes put together.
- The second ending theme of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, "Minna no Piisu" (Everbody's Peace), especially the Gratuitous English filled refrain (Love & Rock, notte OK!).
- And, no matter what anyone says about Narm -- Do the impossible, see the invisible, ROW ROW FIGHT THE POWAH!
- Touch the untouchable, break the unbreakable, ROW ROW FIGHT THA POWAH!
- On discovering that song was in the karaoke catalog a few months ago, this troper and two friends attempted to perform it. Seeing the ridiculous lyrics in writing was simply too much, and we succumbed to hysterical laughter punctuated by an occasional gasp of FIGHT DA POWAH! for the duration.
- Also combined with opera lyrics in "Libera-me from Hell" to highlight some of the most epic scenes in the final arc.
- The opening, Sorairo Days!
- Also, the most epic song ever, Pierce the Heavens With Your XXX!!
- "You are my S.t.a.r.S.!"
- And, no matter what anyone says about Narm -- Do the impossible, see the invisible, ROW ROW FIGHT THE POWAH!
- Samurai Pizza Cats
- The Star Blazers intro is pretty catchy - We're off to outer space, We're leaving Mother Earth, To save the human race, Our Star Blazers
- Dai-Guard. Seriously.
- Blue Gender has an OP that borders on Soundtrack Dissonance considering where the show falls. See for yourself.
- Meitantei Holmes definitely counts - Sherlock Holmes, you're the only one for me!
- The openings to Sayonara, Zetsubou-sensei and Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei.
- RUNBA RUNBA RUNBA RUNBA! RUNBA RUNBA RUNBA RAH-RUNBA
- Marionette, Teacher's Pet. Marionette, sensei no petto, boku wa marionette...
- BURE BURE BURE BURE BURE
- Add Zan Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei to that list. Ringo! Mogire! BEAM! Ringo! Mogire! BEAM!
- Hell, add any song used in any season. Including the Zetsubou Sensei Drawing Song.
- This troper has started watching Azumanga Daioh, and now he can't get "Soramimi Cake" out of his skull for neither love nor money.
- Lu, La lu, La piano wa sekai no yumesaku nohara ni melody...
- Tsukurimashou! Tsukurimashou! Sate sate nani ga dekiru ka na?
- Several of the Image Songs are ear-worms too. Osaka's "Time Pavement," Sakaki's "Shin wa Shoujo de Parachute," and Kagura's "Ashita wa Makenai GO! FRIEND!" come to mind.
- The ending theme is one, too, of a more light, fluffy variety. Raspberry Heaven! Hitori ja naite...
- Everything featured in Initial D, such as:
- Gonna get you, like a space boy! WHOA WHOA-WHOA WHOA!
- For-ev-er yoooooooouuuuuung! We're-born-to-ruuuuuuuuunnnn!
- Speedy speed boy! Gasoline's burning in speedy speed boy! As fast as I can be speedy speed boy! Every night and day wind is on my faaaaaaace! [dead link]
- Dogfight. It's also Crowning Music of Awesome. (Try this exercise: play Need for Speed Carbon with the Sprinter AE86, in Canyon mode [which is basically how real touge works], with this track playing).
- Streeeeets of FIRE!
- Rage Your Dream (but you gotta get the full version to really appreciate the awesome).
- Ichiman nen to nisen nen mae kara aishiteruuuuuuuuuu. Made worse by the English version.
- The show may have been generic crap, but this troper can't hep but listen to that song every day.
- Continuing the tradition: OSORE! LIVING YOUR LIFE, DON"T GIVE UP NOW, KEEP MOVING ON! KIMI WO DAKISHIMERU NAMNDOMO NANDOMO NANDOMOOOOOOOOOO!!!
- Through The Night from Outlaw Star. Couldn't pronounce half the words on pain of death, but that apparently doesn't prevent them from flying circles around the brain...
- This troper concurs. This Troper spent YEARS going "AI DAKE, YUME DAKE, KIMI DAKE" while sitting idly, and in high school he could segue into it from pretty much any rock song you can name. Needless to say, this annoyed the CRAP out of his friends.
- He's also got both the music bits that play during the episode title and the second part of the Eyecatch.
- Recently (for this troper), DRAGON (New Getter Robo opening) By JAM Project. He has no idea why.
- Try GONG. "I GET THE POWER OF LOVE!" (Actually, that's a lie. Try SKILL. That's an earworm.)
- Bugger that, VICTORY! "V I C T O R Y~! Three-two-one-zero never give up, oh yeeeeah~!"
- Let's just say they have a wormy discography. To this list this troper nominates Destination, Break Out, Fire Wars, and ROCKS. We can keep going, if you like.
- And their latest single, Hello Darwin! Curiosity on Demand, the 9th OP to Keroro Gunsou, is one of the highest order. Naturally, it was composed by Kageyama Hironobu himself.
- As is their theme for The Movie, Space Roller Coaster GO! GO!.
- The lack of acknowledgment for the addictive qualities of Majin Kenzan is stunning. A-I YO-RI A-KA-KUUUUUUUUUU!
- It'd be easier to just say damn near everything by JAM Project and their members are earworms, and most of them overlap with CMOA.
- Try GONG. "I GET THE POWER OF LOVE!" (Actually, that's a lie. Try SKILL. That's an earworm.)
- Waka Laka is probably like this. I've only seen the version with Osaka once, and it surfaces every once in a while.
- It's the sped up DDR version, which also is responsible for the version of "Witch Doctor"
- The OP from the first season of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni combines this trope with horror. See for yourself. If that isn't bad enough, the 'unintelligible' chant is actually intentional backmasking saying "nigerarenai" (meaning You Can't Run Away). Naraku no Hana, the 2nd season OP, features this part un-backmasked. On a scene that looks like a happy walk to school with the protagonists. Not quite as horrifying as the first OP, but unsettling and Ear Worm-ish all the same.
- Speaking of Higurashi, do you know Oyashiro-sama? Yes, Hinamizawa. I kill you you kill me. No, Hinamizawa.
- Don't forget the opening for Higurashi's OVA, Rei and the main song for the live action movie...
- Auau hauu hauu auau auu-wa hauuau!
- This Troperette seconds that one. (And so CUTE too...)
- Don't forget Rena's song!
- "MION, TRY YOUR BEST! AND I, AS SHION, WILL TRY MY BEST AS WELL!"[1][2]
- Ta...ma...yu...ra...na...zo...ri...te The Big Bad's song.
- Dear You - Bond and Kokoro Musubi alternate back and fourth of which one will be stuck in my head next.
- SHI NE.. SHI NE... MINNA SHI NE![3]
- Rika's other Image song, Mugen Kariou, is another that will stay stuck in your head for awhile.
- GA-GA-GA, GA-GA-GA GAOGAIGAR! GA-GA-GA, GA-GA-GA GAOGAIGAR!
- Desire, asayaka ni! Desire, toki wo koe! Desire, maiagare! Desire! Mabushiku all the WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!
- LET'S FINAL FUSION!!!
- Is it wrong that This Troper can recite THE WHOLE DAMN OP? Also, the "Two Powers Into One" chant (Gimu Geru Gan Go Gufou Vitas), whilst not music, is still damn catchy. Spoiler is related to FINAL Episode 2.
- How do you make an existing Ear Worm even more of an Ear Worm? By combining two versions of it together and having the characters scream their attacks and various other Hot-Blooded dialogue throughout the whole thing.
- Chichi chichi oppai, BOING BOIIINNNGG!
- Eureka Seven's 4th opening, Sakura. If that song doesn't have you bouncing, you have no soul.
- This Troper keeps getting Days, the first opening, stuck in hers.
- The Piano House Mix [dead link] is even worse D:
- Really? This Troper keep getting Niji stuck in hers.
- Shounen Heart is this troper's latest earworm. The random English words, Hot-Blooded lyrics and pretty rainbow subtitles don't help.
- Na na na Why so why? Souzoushite mite yo...
- The first ending, Himitsu Kichi, refuses to leave This Troper alone.
- The third opening, To the Center of the Sun, is 3 minutes of Hot-Blooded Crowning Music of Awesome, and will not leave your brain once in there.
- The Amazing Three. "Spacemen, with a mission..."
- Ichigo 100%'s ending, Ike Ike. Especially when you see the para para/dance for the song...
- This troper had to take all the Hinoi Team she had OFF her iPod because their entire discography is so catchy she'd stopped listening to them.
- TOUCH AND FEEEEEEEEL
- "Fighting evil by moonlight, winning love by daylight..."
- The Spanish version is a lot worse. Perdona si no puedo ser sincera, si en mis sueños te lo confieso...
- You say that because you didn't try the Italian versions: there are five and each one is gonna get [dead link] stuck into your head.
- Actually, the Dutch eurobeat one is much worse.
- And that's just a re-recording of the German one [dead link] . Let's just say that Sailor Moon's openings have traditionally always been this, whatever the quality of the show itself in the language in question.
- Hey, don't forget about the original! "Gomenne sunao ja nakute, yume no naka nara ieru..."
- If you've watched the fifth season, Nagareboshi He is inescapable. Search for your love...
- The worst earworm was "My only love." This troper searched everywhere to find the complete song and listened to it endlessly.
- For me, it HAS to be Power of Love, which plays in the confrontation between Neo Queen Serenity and the Wiseman. A slightly shortened version is in this clip from the episode
- The entire damn fifth season is full of earworms. Sailor Star Song, Todokanu Omoi [dead link] , Motto Suteki na Asa ga Kuru yo [dead link] ....
- Moon Revenge, from the Sailor Moon R movie, does it for this troper.
- This troper concurs, and can pretty much sing the entire damn song perfectly after all these years. And can't hear it without visualizing the entire scene in the movie.
- If we're going to mention songs from the movies, this troper's putting in a vote for this beautifully addictive and catchy song from SuperS.
- This troper concurs, and can pretty much sing the entire damn song perfectly after all these years. And can't hear it without visualizing the entire scene in the movie.
- For this troper it's the Starlights transformtion theme. Damn addicting synthesizers.
- Oh yes. Ties with the Outer Senshi transformation for best BGM ever in that show.
- The Spanish version is a lot worse. Perdona si no puedo ser sincera, si en mis sueños te lo confieso...
- "Ohhhh, Gatchaman, Gatchamaaaaaan!"
- Speaking of Tatsunoko Productions, just from watching videos of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, this troper was then unable to dislodge the Yatterman theme song off his head for a day.
- It doesn't stop there with Tatsunoko, see Speed Racer further down.
- Tatakae! Casshan
- Hurricane Polymar. DAN DAN DAN DAN BIN DA DAN, BAN BAN BAN BAN ZUN BA BAN! DAN! DAN! TORIYAAAA!!
- Space Knight Tekkaman and both openings of Tekkaman Blade, Reason and Eternal Loneliness
- "MAZIN GO! MAZIN GO! MAZZZINNGGAAAA Z!!!!"
- "GAN! GAN! GAN! GAN!!! WAKAI INOCHI GA MAKKA NI OETEEEEEEE!! *buh bu-buh! buh bu-buhhh!* GETTA SUPAAKU SORA TAKAKUUUU!"
- Digimon Adventure's (original) dub theme. The lyrics aren't much, but dang if that "dun-dun-dun, dun-dun-dun, dun-dun-dun dun DUN-DUN" rhythm doesn't lodge in your head and stay there. (And the same goes for the rock remix used for the localization of Digimon Tamers)
- CHAAAANGE INTO DIGITAL CHAMPIONS TOOOO SAVE THE DIGITAL WORLD.
- "Oh oh, oh oh, oh oh oh, Oh oh, oh oh, oh oh...HERE WE GO!" Just when you get it out, they all go home and it plays again.
- You run around, I run around, we're all gonna run, run, around...
- Things are starting to accelerate into something, never stopping always trouble bubbling!
- "Big and bigger, biggest dreamer, yume miru koto ga subete hajimari sore ga kotae daro[...]" (At least, that's the main portion that will not get out of This Troper's head)
- Hey digimon, hey digimon, monster friends to the boys and girls. Hey digimon, hey digimon, champions of the digital world.
- Mugendai na yume no...
- Ima koso tobitatsu yuuki wo motte... [dead link]
- SHOW ME YOUR BRAVE HEART!
- We look to our past, as we head for the future, to reclaim the Digital Wooorld~!
- For whatever reason, Kari blowing the theme on her whistle in the Digimon movie never left this Troper's head. She now wishes she could whistle well to pester people with it.
- Digimon Savers has the main battle/evolution theme, [[http://www.youtube.com/watch? v=_Rq577PIG3k Believer]]. The use of this as the battle music basically every time, at the
climax of every episode, helps. That and a fairly good use of Gratuitous English.
- The Latin American Dub of Butterfly is the top 1 choice in Karaoke in Argentina, if you cannot chant the lyrics you dont belong to the convention
- Oboete imasu ka, me to me ga atta toki wo? Oboete imasu ka, te to te ga fureatta toki? Sore wa hajimete no ai no tabidachi deshita? I love you so...
- So unbelievably goddamn awesome that it's become canon to the whole franchise, even though it was never sung in the original series (only the movie).
- Then it reappeared in Macross Frontier's penultimate episode, sung by the resident Moe to great Soundtrack Dissonance effect.
- Maaaaacuuurosss!
- "Nyan nyan, nyan nyan, ni hao nyan! Gorgeous, delicious, deculture!" This one this troper had to sandblast out of his mind. And it's become a YouTube Poop all its own, for added effect.
- This Troper really shouldn't be singing Iteza Gogo Kyuuji Don't Be Late in public, because This Troper is male. But...so...ear-worm!
- KYUN KYUN, KYUN KYUN! Watashi no kare wa PAIROTTO!
- Aozora o kakeru LOVE HEART, moeru omoi o nosete....
- Try this one. It's just so... beautiful!
- OMAIE NI AITAI!!!
- This song will instill MANLY TEARS!
- Aimo, aimo, nete lhushe, noynar milia ehndel protea, photow mih...
- Ninjin loves you, yeah!
- Seikan Hikou. *does the Ranka Lee KIRA~ gesture*
- In BUDOKAN!
- three, hey, I count down. two, are you ready? one, mou matenai yo zero, ai narashite! What 'bout my star? What 'bout my staaaaaaaaaaaaaar?
- Triangler. Kimi wa dare to kisu wo suru? Watashi soretomo ano ko? Kimi wa dare to kisu wo suru? Hoshi wo meguru yo junjou!
- So unbelievably goddamn awesome that it's become canon to the whole franchise, even though it was never sung in the original series (only the movie).
- The Cutey Honey theme, so good, they just keep using it. Damn them...
- IYA yo IYA yo IYA yo mitsumechau IYA HONEY FLASH!!
- Pick a song from Nerima Daikon Brothers. ANY song.
- Who-oa Who-ao... Egao de cash!
- Gonna live a hell of a dream today~
- This troper oftentimes gets the Hellsing anime opening stuck in her head for days on end. Seriously.
- doo doo doo...dododo doodoo...doo doo doo...dododo doodoo... *(insert Mondegreen'd lyrics here)*
- This troper has "Wenn wir fahren gegen engeland" [dead link] (from the OVA IV) forever in her head (and she knows the lyrics), which is always a problem seeing as it's a Nazi marching song.
- Thanks to Rip Van Winkle, this troper has "mein Sohn, nur Mut" stuck in her head ALL THE TIME.
- Broken English has the same effect.
- AKUMA STOCKING DU DU BI DUUU
- "Purupuru Pururin, Purupuru Pururin, Puru Pururin..."
- This one gets special mention because it's also an Ear Worm in-universe.
- ""DRAGON! DRAGON! ROCK THE DRAGON! DRAGONBALL Z!"
- The Japanese versions even better, CHA-LA-HEAD-CHA-LA! and WE GOT POWA DRAGONBALL Z!
- Dokkan Dokkan tsuiteru/Dokkan Dokkan Paradise (Dragon Soul)
- This Troper has nothing against the Japanese songs, but finds the American Dragonball versions more catchy
- Which one? The Sean Schemmel version or the Vic Mignogna version?
- How about All six available versions at the same time?
- Yeah! Break! Care! Break! Omoikkiri!
- The English Dragonball theme? Especially around 1:02
- Gohan's Whistle song. You will be hooked on it.
- Dragon Dragonball! Dragonball Z!
- Heck, even the instrumental opening composed by Faulconer is catchy!
- Busou Renkin Whoaaohh whoa-oh whoaaohh whoa-oh da-danana da-daaaaa!
- He's made of rubber! How did that happen? YO-HO-HO, HE TOOK A BITE OF GUM-GUM!
- Even though almost all fans of One Piece will attest to hating the 4Kids dub, they all still love the first opening. YAI-YO, YAI-YO! YO HO!
- Sogeking.
- Yohohoho yohohoho! Yohohoho yohohoho! Bink's Sake, ladies and gentlemen.
- While it doesn't really sound all that One Piece-y, the song for the 10th opening, "Share the World" by Kenichi Mayamada will not leave this troper's ear.
- Ano oozora ni, todoku made.....DEAR GOD, MAKE IT STOP!!!!
- Pocketo no Coin, soreto YOU WANNA BE MY FRIEND?
- Let's not forget the super high energy, and ultra-catchy 15th One Piece Opening theme. "Ichi ni SUNSHINE yon... WEEEEE GOOO!!"
- I think back to the time when my quest first began, I left behind those shores of sand, to the endless everlasting world out there! Damn you, Vic Mignogna...as if that extremely catchy Soldier A song wasn't enough.
- The Japanese versions of the opening "Hikari E" (Towards The Light) is just as catchy. YEAH, YEAH, YEAH, YEAH, YE-E-E-A-A-A-H!
- This song is pretty catchy in German too, well at least if you know German.
- And then to top it off, as if the theme for D.N.Angel wasn't catchy enough, Vic Mignogna decided to go and write English lyrics for it. Not for the American release or anything, oh no, he just did it for kicks, and thus made it THAT MUCH EASIER to get stuck in your head because you can now easily sing along. (And his lyrics are actually pretty close to the original, too!) We've gathered enough evidence to label Vic Mignogna an Ear Worm repeat offender.
- That's not the only music trope he's a repeat offender of..."True Light" is actually more Crowning Music of Awesome material.
- The opening song of Strong World is a ridiculously catchy (and even more ridiculously happy.)
- The latest (13th) opening, One Day goes against all previous openings by having a much more somber and serious tone, as well as fitting Luffy's emotions in the current arc to a T. Still as catchy as hell though.
- This Troper doesn't even watch One Piece, but will be damned if he doesn't admit to loving Brand New World HASHIRI DASE HASHIRI DASE!
- Kimi ni Mune Kyun (KYUN]!!!)
- On a tangential note, I'm waiting for that video game to hit shelves. Losing health points from getting a Nosebleed? That's just awesome. Far cooler than anything actually in the show.
- What about YAMETTE, YAMETTE, AH, AH~!
- IT'S TIME TO D-D-D-D D-D-D-D-D-DUEL!
- Not to mention all five of the original Japanese version's opening themes, especially season five's "Overlap".
- Speaking of Overlap...Yami wo tsuranuku shinjiru kokoro Tamashii Nemuru basho sagashite!
- How about the 2nd Japanese opening, Shuffle? Yakusoku sareta, Yes! You are the winner
- "Rakuen", the 3rd Japanese ending, takes the cake for hookiest earworm.
- Speaking of Yu-Gi-Oh! - Hyper Drive, the theme song for the English dub of 5D's.
- The Japanese first opening, Kizuna is this too. Considering it sound like some Motorcycle speak....
- Whilst we are talking about 5D's, theres the Italian theme (Yu-Gi-Ohhhhh! Runner Gooooo!)
- Nani wo tsukameru no ka? Nani ga dekiru no ka? Fumidasu bokura de mitsukeru kitto
- and Last Train - A New Morning too
- BELIEVE IN NEXUS! The only thing that makes this more awesome than it should be is that it's sung by Masaki Endoh.
- Keep on, Burning Soul!! Iki teru kagiri hakanakute mo kagayaite i tai furusupīdo de, iku ze Clear Mind!!. The second vocal insert song in the entirity of the franchise. Masaaki Endoh's Clear Mind. Behold the Awesome. [dead link]
- And the first, You Say ~ Ashita E from episode 72.
- And the third, YAKUSOKU NO MELODY [dead link] , used in the final episode.
- I'm not going to panic
- The Tenth Anniversary Movie's theme song, makemagic.
- I'm always ONE CARD SHORT, always one day late! For once I'd like an ending I can celebrate! [dead link]
- This troper needs to share this. For about seven years now, she's been humming a piece of instrumental awesome music as her personal theme every time something awesome and magnificent is about to go down. For seven years, she could not for the life of her find the origion of the ten second long instrumental. A few weeks ago, she got into watching Anime online, and found the source of her instrumental ear-worm; the American dub theme of the original Yu-Gi-Oh. Despite only having seen two or three episodes when she was ten, she's been humming the theme for seven years.
- My GOD, Road to Tomorrow - Going My Way!...Mirai e Tsudzuku kono Michi o, Going my way!! Kiri hiraite Yuke!
- Another oh my GOD here, the 3rd Korean opening for 5D's Nameless Death - Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Edition by Korean Powermetal band Time Concerto.
- The normal version of Nameless Death [dead link] , sung in English by the same band.
- And to go with the opening, the current ending, The Redemption - Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Edition
- Wasurenai yo hajimete no yume! Oitsuzukete KEEP HOLDING ON!
- Pipiru piru piru pipiru pii~! I'll step on you, tie you up, beat you...But that's just how I show my love!
- S-O-N-I-C, GO! Go, go, go, go! Let's go!!
- Lyrical Tokarev, kill them all!Only one shall be left alive~
- Run away, run away, leave your lemon drop, soak it up, soak it up, won't you crush on me... [dead link]
- The Hayate the Combat Butler third ending, Chasse. Lun, lun, lun...
- The first OP song, Hayate no Gotoku! qualifies as well.
- Moreso the heartwarming and feel-good second OP Shichitenhakki shijou shugi, also by KOTOKO.
- H! I! N! A! Mankai! Hai hai! H.I.N.A. Hinagiku! Hai Hai!
- For the electronica disinclined here's the "HiNA-GIG" version that includes bitchin' guitars but removes the Student Council Trio.
- Ayumu Nishizawa's Image Song has that loving maiden feel to it: Kimi ga Iru Kara Just Windy Love
- .hack//roots's main theme, Silly-Go-Round, has been stuck in This Troper's head for MONTHS.
- .hack//Sign had one, too.
- Is it wrong that This Troper got "A Stray Child" [dead link] stuck in her head?
- .hack//Sign had one, too.
- |Dango, dango, dango, dango, dango daikazoku.... This troper has heard it a grand total of twice at the time of this writing, but the hypnotic melody will stay.
- "Sukitooru, yume wo miteita yawarakai eien"...
- Not to mention "Kimi dake ga sugisatta saka no tochuu wa Atataka na hidamari ga ikutsu mo dekiteta"...
- The song is now sung by this editor every day in life.
- I WANT TO CHAAANGE THE WORLD!
- kaze wo kakenukete/ nanimo osorezu ni
- Ima yuuki to/egao no KAKERA daite~!!
- CHAAAAANGE MY MIND!!!
- Jounetsu tayasazu ni!
- takanaru mirai e/ te wo nobaseba kagayakeru hazu sa
- It's wonderland~!
- Pick an ending song any ending song
- HAAATEHATEHATEHATEHAAATENAAAAAA NOOOBINOBINOBINOBINONBIRITOOO
- Everything, everything from Cowboy Bebop. Actually, scratch that. Everything by Yoko Kanno. Right now this troper has the "Where's your messiah" bit (or whatever) from "Blue" rattling around...
- Yes, everything, but especially the opening theme, "Tank". You so will "sing" along with that brass at the very end every time.
- BA-DA BA-DA BA-DA BADA-BA-DA!
- THE REEEEAL FOLLLLK BLUUUEEESSS
- Andy's theme, "Go Go Cactus Man".
- WE ARE THE DOGGY DOGGY DOGS!
- YOU WA SHOCK! (OK, it's actually called "Ai wo Torimodose". But what's the line everyone actually remembers?)
- Tatatatatata-TAIHEN! Renoyatsu ga haji ma~tta~
- PURIPPURIN GYMNASTIC EX-CER-CISE! Bonkkyubon mukin-muukin!
- BOOM BOOM BOOM! Even though the show is ecchi, the song is really CATCHY~! *horrible pun*
- "Uchuuuu Sen-kan YAAAAAAAAAAMMAAAAAATOOOOOOOO!!!"
- "Uninstall", the opening for Bokurano. The Masaaki Endoh version is so over the top so epic that he made a haunting song in one truly and epicaly CHEERFUL song,if you hear it one time you won't stop ever again,so here it is: "Uninstall Masaaki Endoh version"
- Hello, what about the ending, Little Bird...? *sniff*.... Anata no hitomi ni utsuru mono...
- Yume, Hitohira!
- GI-GAN-TOR! GI-GAN-TOR! GI-GAAAAAAAN-TOR!
- Dadadadada to tamagakuru! Bababababa to haretsusuru! Byuun to tondeku Tetsujin...NI-JUU HA CHI GO!
- GURIKO! GURIKO! GU! RI! KOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! (refers to the original 60's version's sponsor Glico, a candy maker in Japan; it's just a jingle, but is an ear worm nonetheless)
- RIDE ON SHOOTING STAR!
- Also, "Little Busters", the second battle theme.
- For me, the catchiest music from the series, by a wide margin, was the guitar riff from "Last Dinosaur", which they used for the episode previews.
- "Here he comes, here comes Speed Racer! He's a demon on wheels..."
- "...kowaimono kato, Go! Go! Go!"
- Who's the quickest one around? YES IN THE MACH 5!
- HIROGARU YAMI NO NAKA, KAWASHIATTE, KAKUMEI NO CHIGIRI (...) SEKAI WOOOOOO
- WE'VE ALWAYS BEEN THIS, SO BRING ON THIS PAIN..... WOOAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! Wall of screaming and then incredibly fast singing follows. Everyone remembers "Hey ningen sucker, a ningen ningen fucker," right? A friend showed it to This Troper because we all read the manga, and it had been in his head ever since.
- Zetsubou ZA BIRII iza rinri Saa tomerarenai ERASER RAIN!!
- L's Theme
- This troper sang Misa's Song for three hours.
- Ooh ooh, ooh ooh (yeah) ooh ooh, ooh ooh (yeah) ooh ooh Let me be with you.
- Menchi Aishou no Borero Gyakuna is slow, but addicting. Probably because it's so sorrowful and yet hilarious. The main theme of Excel Saga is also pretty addictive.
- Kore wa Ai Ja Nai! (COUGH!!! COUGH!!! WHEEZE!!!)
- Mi-Ra-Kurumi!
- A friend said it best: "So I heard that song. And it was so idiotic... that I heard it again. And again. And...
- EXCALIBAAA! EXCALIBAAA! From United King, I'm looking for him, I'm going to Californiaaaa!
- And if we add in openings, ((BROKEN))Paper Moon kills brain cells.
- A few of the OST tracks are stuck in my head often. Usually it's the first 15 seconds of 4242564, all of the third ending Bakusou Yume Uta, or the fourth ending Strength
- ((BROKEN))The first opening is just as catchy as Paper Moon.
- How about Naruto's ((BROKEN))Go! (Fighting Dreamers)? Seriously, this troper was stuck multiple times with complete strangers, and quite a few times, they would be singing that one refrain, "WE ARE F-F-F-FIGHTING DREAMERS!" It drove this troper insane.
- This troper goes to Anime conventions in her country very often, and can assure you all that playing "Go!" or "Haruka Kanata", be in the sound system or in the Karaoke contest, immediately causes all the present fanaticade spontaneouly singing them aloud, to the point that in some 'Con those songs became banned de facto and only played when the event spirit is decaying. Heck, the very first ever this troper heard "Haruka Kanata" was in a con, and she still joined the spontaneous chorus anyway!
- This troper gets Namikaze Satellite and Nani Wo Mitsumeteriu Darou stuck in her noggin a lot more often.
- YOU ARE MY FRIEND! Aa-ah, ano hi no yume. IMA DEMO, mada waseretanain deshou? YOU ARE MY DREAM! Aa-ah, hajimete bakka, kimi wa LONG LOST FRIEND...
- SHA LA LA itsuka kitto, boku wa te ni surunda, hakanaki mune ni sotto, hikari moete yukeeee!!!
- BACCHIKOI BACCHIKOI BABAAAAAYYYY!!!!
- ((BROKEN))YOU KNOW THE CLOSER YOU GET TO SOMETHING, THE TOUGHER IT IS TO SEE IT!
- Sousa kanashimi wo yasashisa ni!
- The 13th Ending (from Ep154 onwards): JITENSHA! JITENSHA! JITENSHA! JITENSHA! JITENSHA!
- Three, Two, One, MAKE SOME NOISE! This Troper hears this whenever anyone mentions Naruto.
- The German Opening the Gratuitous English makes it So Bad It's Good.
- The 5th opening ((BROKEN))Seishun Kyosokyoku. CAN'T...STOP...LISTENING...
- My God... I can't believe it's made it this far without someone mentioning ((BROKEN))Viva Rock, AKA The Marching Chibis Song. It's an Ear Worm and' an Eye Worm at the same time.
- King! King! King Gainer! King! King! King Gainer!
- Metaruuu Overman King Gainerrr!
- ((BROKEN))Yappa paa -- The first season opening theme for Ranma ½, this theme is generally considered the most catchy of them all. It actually got several official releases (including one version sung by Shampoo), and was repeatedly used as the music for 'song playing in the background' situations in the anime. Including at least one episode where the bit-characters Yuka and Sayuri sung it as their entry in a talent display.
- ((BROKEN))BAKANE, BAKABAKA! -- this is Akane Tendo's Image Song, simply known as "The Baka Song".
- ZETTAI! ZETTAI! -- this is the 4th season's opening theme, the title of which translates roughly as "No Way! Part 2".
- This troper personally found Love Seeker (Can't Stop It), the season 7 opening theme, to be catchy too.
- Many of the OAV themes qualify, especially Love Panic
- ((BROKEN))Chin rai, chin rai, Nekohanten!
- earth orchestra
- Little Date is this troper's ultimate earworm.
- Pappara funi funi pappara hoe hoe Pappara funi funi ta-mago!
- How can I help you, King Dedede? Ah need a monstah ta clobbah dat deh Kirbeh! That's what we do best at N.M.E.! (Ya'd betta get it with a money back guarantee!)
- The Italian Theme is also very catchy.
- Itsu demo guusuukaapii Hoshi no Kaabii...
- Go Go Heaven...just Go Go Heaven Hai! Hai! Hai! Hai! Hai! 1-2,1-2~!
- Kihon wa maru. Maru kaite maru Maru kaite maru Goma kaite maru Migi no chotto maru Hidari ni chotto maru Shita no kocchi ni mo maru Shita no acchi ni mo maru~ Its the "Maru" that gets you.
- Tenjho Tenge's opening theme, Bomb a Head.
- TIME TO PARTY TIME! PARTY TIME!
- Fly Gundam! Seigi no ikari o butsukero gandamu,Kido senshi GANDAMU! Gan-DA-MU!
- Ai Senshi. 'nuff said.
- ANIME JA NAI! (anime ja nai) ANIME JA NAI! (anime ja nai) HONTOU NO KOTO SA!
- Victory Gundam's Ending, Winners Forever is a pretty darned catchy theme. Be careful, or it might get stuck in your head FOREVER!
- FLYING IN THE SKY takaku habatake This has had this song stuck in his head on and off for months.
- I REALLY can't believe this page has gone so far without the mention of the Gundam Wing themes, but here:
- JUST WILD BEAT COMMUNICATION...
- I JUST FEEL 'RHYTHM EMOTION'...
- Or for those who grew up with it on Toonami, there is the English ending
- The Italian theme, quite upbeat considering the theme of the show.
- Don't forget Endless Waltz's "White Reflection". If I hear that thing even once, it's playing in my head for the next week.
- Gundam 00's famous insert song, Unlimited Sky
- I Love You... I Trust You..
- My wishes over their airspace...
- Potemayo's Katamichi Catch Ball. Possibly the sparkliest, cutest earworm in the world. Try the ((BROKEN))full version.
- "1000% Sparking!" (Motto Sparking Now! Tsuyoku tafu na haato...) and its partner "A-LY-YA!" (the OP and ED, respectively) are perhaps the best part of the Negima!? reboot.
- While we're on Negima, Happy Material Return from the new OVA deserves mention.
- As is Happy Material from the original.
- And the live-action opening Pink Generation is incredibly catchy.
- Everybody say HOOOOOOOOOO!!! HIP! POP! STEP! JUMP!
- NOW YOU FEEL LIKE NUMBER ONE!
- Several of the character songs from the Bleach Beat Collection are offenders, too. La La La for Orihime, We for Yachiru/Ikkaku/Ayasegawa/Kenpachi, This Light I See for Toshirou, and that's not even getting into the couple dozen openings and endings. Good thing it's actually good music, or Bleach would've probably caused a lot of suicides by this point.
- Openings. This Troper would like to blame Bleach for getting Velonica, Shojo S, and ((BROKEN))Rolling Star for getting into his head, and never leaving. However, since they are good songs, he has decided to not jump off a bridge.
- Not to mention D-tecnolife.
- This Troper has found that the Gratuitous English of ((BROKEN))Tonight Tonight Tonight makes it impossible to remove.
- Don't forget the 8th opening!
- Not to mention "((BROKEN))Asterisk" by Orange Range from the first season. It doesn't help that this troper knows absolutely no Japanese and is therefore stuck humming the tune inanely instead of singing it at the top of her lungs.
- And now, we have even more in the form of the Bleach Breathless Collection (Soul Reapers and their materialized Zanpakutos having character songs.) At the moment for this editor, Miss for Hisagi Shuhei is getting some pretty much daily play.
- STAND UP BE STRONG KNOW RIGHT FROM WRONG!!
- The 14 opening is an instant Earworm.
- It seems that, to make up for the filler arcs, the ending and opening songs are specially cool and catchy. Examples include "Hanabi" and "My Pace" aired during the Bount Arc, and "Orange", from the New Captain Arc.
- DRAGON SCREAMER! DRAGON FEVER! NO QUESTIOOOOOOOOOONNNN!!!
- ZETTAI. UNMEI. MOKUSHIROKU.
- Once you listen to the second ending song, you will not stop.
- Isagiyoku kakkoyuku ikite-yukou! (Just a long, long time!) Tatoe futari hanarebanare ni natte mo! (Let go of me!) TAKE MY REVOLUTIOONNNNNNN!
- Damn you, xxxHolic. Damn you and your catchy-ass ending!
- Yes, Kagerou is pretty damn addictive. This troper was hooked before she even knew it was also an anime theme.
- Add the opening for the first season, 19sai. The funk is unstoppable! Listen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qmu_q3TmyS0
- Konna kimochi wa, umarete kite hajimete...
- Za za za za zam Za za za za zam
- Shugo Chara:
- naritai koto, tsutaetai koto daiji na koto, honto no koto
- lucky, happy, makasete ne! uchuu no heiwa wa are dakedo
- DA I SU KI DAAAAYOOOO MI N NA!
- Hop step janpu, drew draw drawn, chip syrup hoippu, naritai atashi
- ((BROKEN))Shugo Shugo dayo YES, ude wo fuute hop step jump!
- Pretty much ANY Super Robot theme song will fall in this trope almost by definition. Also, for a Real Robot example... TURN A TURN, TURN A TURN, TUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURN AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA~
- I WAS MADE TO HIT IN AMERICAAAAA I was made to hit in Americaaaaa I WAS MADE TO HIT IN... oh DAMMIT! NOT AGAIN!
- Uh... this. A commercial for vegetable juice by the Vocaloid crew... I think...
- It is, in fact, a commercial for vegetable juice in Japan. This troper wants to know why we can't have awesome ads like that here in America.
- Amaenaideyo!! has both OPs and the season 2 ED (which also serves as a pseudo-Image Song for Chitose): respectively, Afurete Yuku no wa Kono Kimochi, Amaenaideyo, and Lonesome Traveler (this video is in fact from Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, but it's the same song). Lonesome Traveler in particular is quite possibly the only use of marimbas in any Image Song.
- Kurukururi~ kurukururin! No Japanese banjo music has the right to be so catchy.
- The opening to Paranoia Agent, especially the "Raaiiyaa ra ra" part of the refrain. Like "Komm, süßer Tod", the lyrics aren't nearly as cheerful as the beat just makes it worse.
- Darker than Black's opening and ending themes for this troper. "There isn't a day I don't think about it / mayou kokoro ga kimi ni todoku you ni"
- ((BROKEN))Now I've lost it, I know I can kill. The truth exists beyond the gate.
- ((BROKEN))Deadly Work Is also addicting, as well as numerous OSTs from the second season.
- The ((BROKEN))second opening can also easily get stuck in your head.
- SUNNY DAY!! SUNNY DAY!! Get up, Get up! Get Up, Get Up! [5]
- The opening to Chi's Sweet Home due to sheer adorablity!
- The second opening as well, and both are only 30 seconds long.
- Prétear's opening theme is a little generic, but is it catchy.
- Yu-Gi-Oh! Capsule Monsters: "Hey! We just won a fight!" "VICTORY DANCE!".
- ((BROKEN))Lilium, the opening theme of Elfen Lied.
- This troper suffered(?) for months.
- Last Exile's first opening, ((BROKEN))Cloud-Age Symphony, digs in and won't let go.
- The openings for the four Angelique TV series are pretty head-stuckable. If Angelique isn't enough, there's the Harukanaru Toki no Naka de - Hachiyoushou TV series, whose opening, catchy enough by itself, has a bonus of being sung by three members of the local Cast Full of Pretty Boys; and then you get to the Image Songs from the same series (particularly Tenma's "Hitomi to Hitomi no IGNITION")...
- The ending for the Harukanaru Toki no Naka de - Maihitoyo movie, "Harari, Hirari", might do this as well. And stuff from earlier OAVs (Ajisai Yumegatari, "Sakura Fubuki"). And... yep, the NeoRomance series love these. A lot.
- Nekomimi modo... nekomimi modo nee!
- Unlike most examples on this page, this is actually a bad thing. Seriously, Nekomimi Mode will drive you insane.
- And then there's the second version, Tsukiyomi Mode...
- I Talk To The Rain, by Yuki Kajiura. Actually anything that has Yuki Kajiura involved in it, much to the annoyance of everyone This Troper knows.
- "Cagayake!GIRLS", the opening theme for K-On!. Especially the "No, no, no" part.
- Whatever you do "don't say lazy"
- No way, troper, you must be crazy- Damn.
- "BO BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM"
- Fude Pen, Boru Pen
- ""NEE NEE PAPA, WAIN CHOUDAI! NEE NEE MAMA, NEE NEE MAMA!""
- "Marukaite chikyuu! Marukaite chikyuu! Marukaite chikyuu! Boku Hetalia!" or "Ne, ne, papa? Wain no choudai! Ne, ne mama? Ne, ne, mama?", if you prefer.
- Aa hitoyude de, nakeru shiawase no recipe…!
- How about in almost every language...?
- Or sung by almost every character? And yes, that includes the Holy Roman Empire and Chibitalia. It's up to you whose version is more addicting.
- ((BROKEN))This video has every official Maru Kaite Chikyuu. Yes, even Sealand and Prussia.
- Moshimoshihahaue. Moshimoshihahaue.
- Buono tomato, buono tomato, buono buono ooh!
- "Pasta pasta pasta pasta pasta yay!"
- EEEIIIINSAMKEEEEIIIIIT
- EINS. ZWEI. DREI, VIER, FUNF.
- "Pubu, pubu, pubutte go! Fish and chips!"
- "AHAHAHAHA~!"
- "NO PAIN! NO GAIN! ORDERS ARE ORDERS!"
- Jin mo nomitaina!! Na, na, Mummy! Na, na, Mummy!
- "Paarappapara paaripappari paripapareedo~!"
- Sousa, Ore... Tres Bien!!
- Hayatteru mono, motto motto suki...
- Hi no izuru kuni. Jipangu.
- Italy's song to Germany is also very catchy.
- Hey you guys! Let's go to the HAMBURGER STREEEEET!!!
- Don't you mean, "HEI YU GAIZ?!"
- WA-SHI-NG-TON DEEEEE SEEEEEE!! DEEEEEEE SEEEEEEE (*wait for it...*) OH! OH!
- Pe-pe-pe-pe-pe-pechka...Let's face it, the anime producers have a team researching how to make the character songs as Ear Worm-y as possible.
- In all honesty, this troper thought that "Winter" was too rockish to be stuck in her head... and now.... "DO SVIDANYA!"
- Yurayura xiang you lan, acchi wo xiang you lan! This troper can't get it out of her head...
- Know what's even funnier? His official album doesn't even come out until tomorrow.
- PAAAA-PA-PAA-PA-PAA-PA-PA-PANDA, PAA-PA-PA-PAA-PA-PA-PA-PANDA~
- And we thought the Hetalia ear worms were over: Oresama saikou! Saikyou! Saigo ni warau nowa Ja!
- Ren-ren-renaissance!
- ((BROKEN))Hata-futte hata-futte hata-futte paredo~
- TOMATOMAATOMATO TOMATOMATO PAREEDO!
- America's is ridiculously awesome. ARE. YOU. READY.
- It must be conspiracy: FUNimation must have read this page and decided to make the first trailer an inescapable...urrgh-- This is! A museum! For the happy thoughts you been thinkin'!
- Lalalalalalalala Lalalalalalalala
- The Season Two trailer as well. HEY-AH HEY-AH-OHHH
- WA! WA! WA! World! WA! WA! WA! World[[! World Ondo odorimashou]]!
- Even Spain's getting in on it. "Genki ga deru omajinai~ Fusosososo! Fusososososo!"
- Ooh what about that bloody Hetalia Pocky Dance? If the song doesn't get you, the dance will...
- Atarashii mono, daisuki~
- And now, thanks to certain people/countries we get to have Japanese AND Russian stuck in our heads: Sukiyo, sukisuki, daisuki! ya tebya lyublyu, ya tebya lyublyu, tebya lyublyu...
- ((BROKEN))TEKINA TEKINA TEKINA TEKINA TEKINA TEKINA TEKINA TEKINA TEKINA.
- "Marukaite chikyuu! Marukaite chikyuu! Marukaite chikyuu! Boku Hetalia!" or "Ne, ne, papa? Wain no choudai! Ne, ne mama? Ne, ne, mama?", if you prefer.
- Love Destiny, the OP to Sister Princess, is part of the reason why This Troper got hooked on the show in the first place. "Aitai ai ai ai ai no ni, aenai ai ai ai kon'ya wa..."
- Everyone, I'm really, really sorry for this, but MY SILKY LOVE
- nijuu yo ji kan zutto-- Damn you!
- And have the first OP while we're at it. PURASU, PURASU, dakedo MAINASU
- Rie Kugimiya + concentrated cuteness on caffeine + lots of tongue twisters = Ka Ra Ku Ri. (Ok, ok, this is from Toradorajio, so it's technically not Anime)
- HOOOORIIII HOOOOORIIII NIIIIIIIIGHT
- Pretty much every Opening and Ending to Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, though special mention go to "Again" (the first Opening), "Uso" (the first Ending), "Golden Time Lover" (the third opening), "Period" (the fourth opening), and "Shunkan Sentimental" (the fourth ending).
- The 2003 anime series has "Melissa" and "Kesenai Tsumi", the first Opening and Ending, "Ready Steady Go", and "Rewrite".
- School Days has the Insert song; "Kanashimi no, mukou e", Yandere (Horay!)
- The English version of the theme to Key the Metal Idol (or the original Japanese depending on your preference): It's haunting, beautiful, and it won't stop playing in This Troper's head.
- Any show animated by Gonzo, Black Cat and Spiral in particular.
- Love Hina's Sakura Saku is catchy.
- Kirari Takarumono Love Hina Again is no better.
- Ergo Proxy's ((BROKEN))opening is always managing to go on mental loop.
- Witch Hunter Robin has one of these for its opening. I'm not quite sure why.
- Black Lagoon ah...damn you Black Lagoon.
- This Troper has yet to get the OP for Persona Trinity Soul, 'Breaking Through', out of his head.
- OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH, WARE IZUKO EEEEEEEEE
- Na, na, na, na-na, Na, na, na, na-na. One of 4kids' best songs...
- IT'S SHOW TIME!
- Katekyo Hitman Reborn SHOW ME, FLY THE SKY!
- BOYS AND GIRLS BE AMBITIOUS! BOYS AND GIRLS KEEP IT REAL!
- KICK OFF! RIDE ON! LET'S GO!
- Let's not even get into the character songs. "Kufufu! kufufu! kufufu no fu!" or "ciaossu! ciaossu! ciao! ciao!"
- Two words: Sakura Addiction.
- HOOOOOOOOOOOOOME RUNNNN!!!]]
- ((BROKEN))No control ~!
- ((BROKEN))KYOKUGEN FIGHTAA!!! IT'S EXTREMELY CATCHY!!
- ((BROKEN))Tobi mawaru yuubi na hane de saki hokoru boku no puraido Jeez Hibari, just... jeez. This troper was impressed by your badassery.
- ((BROKEN))Oh Gamma talk about gratuitous engrish
- ((BROKEN))I want hitotsu dake, hitotsu dake!
- This shows Gokudera's unwavering loyalty
- You're lying if you tell me you don't sing along to Listen to the radio tonight, tonight, tonight. Hayaku, Let's play again.
- Here's some enjoyable ear rape brought to you by Lussuria-neechan
- Along with more consensual ear rape by Belphegor
- Let's not forget Xanxus' epic character song and Levi's techno-metal badassery that both gave this troper multiple fangasms
- Along with more consensual ear rape by Belphegor
- TSURETETTE! BOKU WO TSURETETTE!
- While we're on the Pico series, one can't forget the opening theme to Pico To Chico. It sounds frighteningly similar to to the marching song from My Neighbor Totoro. And That's Terrible.
- KISS KISS FALL IN LOVE! Good God, that's awful, especially because This Troper can't pronounce the rest of the song.
- Don't forget the ending theme
- Mata Ashita was stuck in this troper's head for a week after hearing it.
- This troper was disappointed it wasn't dubbed, but the Gag Dub addition to the Hilarious Outtakes was a fair trade for the show's sendoff.
- Tamaki's Image Song. Both versions. Vic Mignogna strikes again.
- Tales of Symphonia's OAV series opening song Almateria, even if the lyrics sound almost nonsensical.
- They're supposed to be the world's ancient language. You can almost make out the "Silvarant" and "Tethe'alla" in the chorus.
- Not to mention words like "Desian" - and this troper is sure she heard out english phrases like "What shall I be"?
- They're supposed to be the world's ancient language. You can almost make out the "Silvarant" and "Tethe'alla" in the chorus.
- NE, KOTAE WA NAIYO, KYOU NO KESHIKI WO! WASURENAI YOUNI TO BOKU WA IKI WO TOMERUNDA! Damn you, Terra, that song has been stuck in This Troper's head for two weeks.
- Irresponsible Captain Tylor's opening. You'll see it and think 'It wasn't that catchy,' and then the next day you'll be humming "Ima sugu, sail away for future!" and wondering to yourself where you heard that . . .
- This Troper discovered this when he watched the entire series over a week or two in high school. By halfway through he knew all the words and is still pretty sure he can sing along reasonably well.
- The ending is even worse. 1 2 3 4 5, ikizugi wo one two . . .
- Hamtaro will know just what to do, this will be our song, come on and siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing!
- For some inexplicable reason, This Troper always segues from this song into Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride.
- The opening theme of Sketchbook full color'S, Kaze Sagashi, is a beautiful acoustic piece that haunted this troper's mind for weeks on end.
- Uchikudake! Hagane no ude de SOLDIER OF SOLDIER! Tokihanate! Fuuin sareshi POWER OF POWER!
- Co!ppe-li-a no hi!tsu!gi! ((BROKEN))Nagareru namida wa mou kaaaarehateee~...
- The opening theme of Jungle wa Itsumo Hale Nochi Guu even invites you to sing along
- BIG BAD BOYS FROM OUTER SPACE! (ULT-I-MATE MUSCLE!) HERE TO BODY SLAM THE HUMAN RACE! ULT-I-MATE MUSCLE!
- Every. single. Kirarin. Revolution. theme song. They're all catchy and ALL have really bad vocals. Here are just some of them:
- Bararaika, bararaika, bararara kaikai!
- There's also the parody version (Link please?), Yaranaika. Lyrics are mostly the same... Sung by an older, Bara-type guy.
- san, ni, ichi zero, dasshu suru kara...
- Hana wo puun! Hana wo puun! Sunabbu kikasete hana wo puun!
- Dakara!! Happy!!
- Pa pa, amai amai papa no pankeeki ga!
- Daisuki ga afuresou! Happy Happy Sunday!! Happy Sunday!!!
- Ooki na ai de motenaishite, ooki na ai de motenaishite
- Ramutaratatan ramutaratatatan
- Chachachance!
- Olala contains gratuitous French.
- Not a theme song, but Konnichi Pa is from an album released by Kirari's seiyuu and is a really bad Ear Worm.
- Bararaika, bararaika, bararara kaikai!
- I am falling, I am failing I am drowning, Help me to breathe...
- Saki has its first ending theme "Netsuretsu Kangei Wonderland", better known as "WAI WAI".
- And the music to the second (technically third, but the second appeared twice as a special ending song) is even catchier.
- "Clover" from Solty Rei. Nee ima made shiriakatta...
- ((BROKEN))"Float" The first ED. Hitori janai kono kimochi yasashisa ni naru...
- "Discotheque" from Rosario + Vampire has the (always dangerous) mix of earworm and Dancing Theme to totally destroy your brain. Mizore somehow seems to have gained fans just from that video if the comments are any indication. Also a popular song live.
- You're always super special, that's why you are here with me!
- FILTHY DEFILER DISGRACE sore demo ii~
- A lot of the songs connected to Sailor Moon. The theme song, "The 3 O'Clock Fairies", "Ai No Senshi", "I Want Us To Be Together" (Can't remember the Japanese title.) and others.
- The first ending for Black Butler, "I'm Alive". This troper was surprised to hear a completely English ending after reading subtitles. And the chibis are just icing on the seven-layer cake.
- The main title song for Robotech. Also used as a Theme Music Power-Up for the entire freaking series. Even reappears in orchestral form in the Shadow Chronicles movie.
- Odoru Ponpokorin. Chibi Maruko Chan may have this one all locked up- and not only is it a huge earworm whether in the original Japanese or redone by Captain Jack, but the visuals are straight up What Do You Mean It Wasn't Made on Drugs?. See for yourself!
- There's multiple versions. Here's one from the OP of the movie, and here's its original appearance as the ED of the anime.
- Just about any Slayers song. Even Otome no Inori.
- Especially Otome no Inori!
- Hayate no yoo ni! Zabunguru! Zabunguru!
- "...She's a little fish from the deep blue sea.."
- The Japanese version is a lot more catchy. Doesn't help that the girl (Oohashi Nozomi) is ADORABLE.
- Shaman King has an oddly catchy theme tune in the dub, and you know what oddly catchy tunes become...
- Cue the first English ending of Case Closed. ((BROKEN))IT DOES NOT LEAVE YOUR MIND.
- Sore wa ai ja nai~~ Ai wa sore ja nai~~ Ai shite 'ru kedo ai sarete wa inai
- Tonari no Totoro, Toto-ro...
- The opening, no matter if it's in Japanese or ((BROKEN))English, is near impossible to get out of your head. Especially if you're walking.
- Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok's ending theme: Bokutachi wa kitto tadoritsukeru kara inori-tsuzuketai Believe in Heaven!
- "I brushed against the freckles that I hated so ((BROKEN))but life goes on and I heave a little sigh for you."
- "Heart of Sword"
- "((BROKEN))1/3 no Junjou na Kanjou" ( 1/3 of True Feelings)
- "((BROKEN))It's Gonna Rain!"
- "1/2" has awesome acoustics.
- Cardcaptor Sakura has many faaaaaaabulous Ear Worms.
- Catch You Catch Me
- ((BROKEN))Groovy!
- Tobira o Akete
- Platinum
- Ashita e no Melody
- The dub had a few Ear Worms of its own: Presenting Guardian of the Cards and Ordinary Girl. Admittedly not as good as the Japanese songs, but still just as catchy.
- This Troper must also mention being fond of the Nelvana dub opening theme, as well as the second Canadian opening theme. Why the second? Because the episodes that aired here on CITV of season 2 replaced the English theme with the even catchier song Razzamatazz by Froggy Mix, and that song got stuck in her head after hearing it the very first time.
- Speaking of the dub, the first opening Will get lodged in your mind VERY easily. it may not play over and over, but just think about it and it will play in your mind on demand.
- Don't forget the surprisingly catchy "On the Wings of a Dream" sung by Madison in the dub. She's a little squeaky on the high notes, but her duet with the Song card is very good.
- ~ My broken wings Still strong enough to cross the ocean with My broken wings How far should I go drifting in the wind Across the sky just keep on fly ~ (from Trinity Blood)
- The theme to Martian Successor Nadesico never reached Earworm status for This Troper... but the theme song to its Show Within a Show, Gekigangar III is a completely different story.
- Now with more EUROBEEEAAAT.
- Yu Yu Hakusho's ((BROKEN))The Homework Never Ends, with its pounding '90s J-pop intro, is probably the worst offender, but every other ending and opening qualifies.
- All the english version of the closing themes, ah, nostalgic:
- Daa Daa da da da doo doo do do do do do This Troper automatically has to start singing the English lyrics, its like some kind of tick.
- Waltz [dead link]
(which isn't an actual waltz), from Honey and Clover, performed by Suneohair. It's even more powerful to people who have seen the show, due to its tendency to start coming in before the end of each episode, and over the most poignant scenes. The highly recognizable yowling synthesizer tones in the intro add greatly to its impact--this troper starts to feel a bit melancholic whenever she hears it.
- ((BROKEN))Split by the same band, used als the ending theme in the second season, has pretty much the same effect, being more of the same--but slower.
- The opening from Lupin III. Even Adult Swim caught that one; they made a commercial for the show that was just the words "Da-da-daaaaa da-da-da" repeated over to fit the song.
- ((BROKEN))Here's what Himeko and Erika have to say on the subject
- "Coloring Palette", the ending of GA Geijutsuka Art Design Class, manages to cling to the brain in all its incarnations (this troper slightly prefers the slower versions though).
- Not to mention the OP, "Osaki ni S'il Vous Plait". Hitotsu hitotsu hitotsu hitotsu
- The opening of Aoi Hana, performed by Kukikodan, is a rare mix of cheery, melancholic and romantic, which make for a haunting melody that is hard to shake off. It also forms a great combination with the visuals, causing this troper lumps in her throat whenever she sees it.
- Something tells this troper that the opening of Fairy Tail is going to end up as this.
- OH YEAH Snow Fairy
- Daiguard. Ba Bababa BaBaBa Ba Ba Rarararara
- Diebuster: Ah ah ah ah, ah ah ah ah groooovin' magiiiic...
- LOVE & ROLL, the ending theme to Cencoroll. Can you hear me nee ima dokoro hen...
- "Yami wo kirisaku OH DESIRE!" Dammit, why must every single song from that series be so made of win?
- Dokkyun Heart. Nuff Said.
- Katayoku no Tori the first opening to Umineko no Naku Koro ni.
- B-A-K-A-S-U-R-V-I-V-O-R
- How did no one mention this ending?
- Pani Poni Dash's first opening, Yellow Vacation. BUN BUN BU BU BUN KIIROI BAKANSU YO!
- Not to mention...Mawaru mawatteku! A-I A-I AA!
- C'mon, sing it with me, from Aeon Flux!
Ready for the action now, Dangerboy
Ready if I'm ready for you, Dangerboy
Ready if I want it now, Dangerboy?
How dare you, dare you, Dangerboy?
How dare you, Dangerboy?
I dare you, dare you, Dangerboy...

- Virtually any Pretty Cure theme, but especially Ganbalance de Dance.
- You make me h@ppy! has to be special, with all the cute dance routine and the random engrish phrases everywhere.

- Ultra Relax: Once it stops seeming borderline insane, you will never get it out of your head.
- Don't forget the two closers
- 19 o'clock news So catchy it couldn't be brought to the U.S.
- Gravitation Glaring Dreams and Sleepless Beauty
- Crayon Shin-chan's dub ending -- "Woke up late this morning, a storm was really rolling..."

- Goshuushou-sama Ninomiya-kun - "Fure Fure Adorena-Escalashon!"

- Fushigi Yuugi gives us this immortal gem: "Maiagare, Suzaku... miracle la!"
- And from the same song: "Itooshi hito no tame ni/Ima nani ga, dekiru ka na?"
- The ending theme. Just... the ending theme.
- This once crossed over to real life: One FM radio DJ that This Troper knows loved the ending theme so much, she would play it during her radio program. Cut to listeners jawdropping while listening to "Tokimeki no Doukasen".
- This anime's insert instrumentals can and will end up in your head.
- Saiunkoku Monogatari has this: "Hajimari no kaze yo..."
- The first opening of A Certain Scientific Railgun, complete with nonsense Gratuitous Engrish. Learn the full song and get it out of your head, dare you.
- The second opening isn't much better.
- This Troper has the same issue with PSI-Missing from A Certain Magical Index.
- Same here with the season two opening...
- Yume no naka e...yume no naka e...ooh-ooh-ooh...ooh-ooh-ooh...ooh-ooh-ooh...saaa!
- FLCL is basically one long music video. It's hard to find a scene that isn't filled with awesome music.

- Of course, let's not forget the 9th Ending, to which this troper knows ALL of the lyrics OFF BY HEART!!! The edited version's Ear Worm enough, but if you can find the full version, at triple the length, you'll need Brain Bleach to remove it!
- fight for your justice from Vandread 2nd stage

- From Gintama: Mr. Raindrop, Fallin' away from me now~

- This troper found multiple entries of the same song in this trope and asks someone: May they fix this? And while they doing that, they must listen to this. I dare any troper to do it..... nyahahahaha!
- This.XD
- The Gratuitous English in the Sky Girls theme is pretty memorably bad to begin with, but add the catchy tune and it's stuck. "Please call me maiden sky girls. Rising crazy? Don't worry we are the sky girls ...do want to do?"
