List of nuclear reactors

This is a list of all the commercial nuclear reactors in the world, sorted by country, with operational status. The list only includes civilian nuclear power reactors used to generate electricity for a power grid. All commercial nuclear reactors use nuclear fission. As of April 2020, there are 440 operable power reactors in the world, with a combined electrical capacity of 390 GW. Additionally, there are 55 reactors under construction and 109 reactors planned, with a combined capacity of 63 GW and 118 GW, respectively.[1] 329 more reactors are proposed.[1] For non-power reactors, see List of nuclear research reactors. Where not otherwise specified, all information is sourced from the Power Reactor Information System (PRIS) of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).[2]

Notes:
^a Post-Fukushima shutdown of eight reactors. On 15 March 2011, the German Government decided to close seven nuclear power plants built before 1980 along with the Krümmel nuclear power plant for a duration of three months.[31] The temporary shutdown was changed into permanent shutdown by the German parliament on 30 June 2012. The remaining nine plants that stayed operational were given new decommissioning dates.[32]
