Tekken/Characters/6
A list of characters introduced in Tekken 6/Bloodline Rebellion.
Eleonora "Leo" Kliesen
YEAH!
The daughter of a world-famous spelunker and a G Corporation executive. Although her father disappeared during an expedition, she was determined to follow in his footsteps and become a spelunker, until receiving news of Emma Kliesen's murder.
The investigation was quickly called off, but Leo came to the conclusion that G Corporation's Kazuya Mishima was the one responsible; however, she was unable to do anything due to Kazuya's position. Noticing that he would be entering The King of Iron Fist Tournament 6, Leo enters as well, seeing this as the only chance to enact revenge.
Tropes associated with Leo:
- Ambiguous Gender: Thanks to her appearance, Leo's gender had been under since the game came out. Word of God says the character was made to be loved by fans regardless of gender. On August 19, 2011, Katsuhiro Harada, the director/producer of the series, officially stated that Leo is female and her real name is Eleonora.
- Bifauxnen
- Disappeared Dad: Is believed to be the one who left the letter for Leo in her ending.
- Idiot Hair
- Not Even Bothering with the Accent: Leo has an American accent, in spite of being German.
- Is now speaking German in Tekken Tag Tournament 2.
- Patronymic: Fanon believes that Leo's last name is Kliesen, taken from the character's mother Emma Kliesen.
- Veronica Taylor: Leo's voice actor.
- You Killed My Mother
Zafina
Death becomes you.
Born to a clan of ancient spiritual warriors, Zafina has been raised from childhood to be a protector of an imperial temple. Due to her prowess in taking out intruders on one occasion, she was appointed to be the temple's sole assassin. In public, Zafina uses her powers as an astrologist but recently has only been able to see evil omens that grow worse by the day. Seeking to understand the meaning behind all of this, Zafina sought the advice of her guru. According to the guru's tale, two evil stars will shake the world when they come into contact and unite with the sealed ancient evil being protected by her group. This will cause The End of the World as We Know It. Considering this tale as the meaning behind her premonitions, Zafina travels east to try to impede the oncoming Armageddon.
- Arachnid Appearance and Attire
- Combat Stilettos
- Foot Focus
- Foreign Fanservice: She is stated to either be from Arabia, India, or Egypt.
- Parts Unknown: The official English language Tekken 6 site used to list her as being Indian; she's now listed as of "unknown" origin. By the way, whereas most of her move names in the American and European version are of Sumerian or Babylonian origin, those in the Japanese version are borrowed from at least half a dozen different mythos, including Greek, Celtic and Norse.
- Heroic Sacrifice: In her and Devil-Jin's arena endings, she clearly lets herself be swallowed up along with Azazel's bastion after his defeat. Presumably, it was necessary for one of her order to stay in there to properly maintain the newest seal on Azazel. Perhaps an oblique form of Sealed Evil in a Duel?
- Hot Astrologist
- Lady of War
- Ship Tease / Les Yay: As far as she's concerned, Lili would make an enjoyable "toy"...
- Raven Hair, Ivory Skin
- Stripperiffic
- Talking To Herself: Lisle Wilkerson voices both Christie and Zafina in 6.
- Tall, Dark and Bishoujo
Miguel Caballero Rojo
(sigh) If you insist...
A Spanish fighter with no style. Considered to be a Jerkass amongst his peers, but has a soft spot for his sister. When his sister announced that she's getting married, Miguel attempted to Murder the Hypotenuse, but backs down for the sake of her happiness...until the wedding day, whereupon the Mishima Zaibatsu bombarded the wedding, killing his sister and sending Miguel into a Roaring Rampage of Revenge. He then enters the tournament to beat down Jin, who ordered the atrocity.
Tropes associated with Miguel:
- Badass Spaniard
- Badass Normal: Despite having absolutely no combat training, he manages to defeat an entire Tekken Force squadron by himself in his ending (which is almost certainly canonical). Please note that while they have body armor, he doesn't. He still treats them like rag dolls.
- Brother-Sister Incest: One-sided.
- Brotherly Marriage Veto: At first, but declines.
- Dead Little Sister
- Fingerless Gloves
- Good Old Fisticuffs: Miguel's fighting style? He hits you. Hard.
- Ha Ha Ha Ha PUNCH: His one-hit knockout technique is definitely this.
- It's Personal
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold
- La Résistance: And if you look carefully at his dialogue in the latter part of Scenario Campaign—specifically, his statements to Eddy, Nina, and Jin about avenging his fallen comrades—it certainly looks like there may have been an off-screen alliance of the Resistance and Lars's own renegade Tekkenshu unit (once Lars and Alisa finished stomping some sense into them that they needed better numbers to have a chance against Jin and Kazuya, anyway).
- Liam O'Brien: His voice actor.
- Morality Chain: His sister. A slight subversion, as the hatred Miguel subdued towards his sister's fiance has now been transferred over to Jin.
- Roaring Rampage of Revenge: "This hatred I bear is for you, and you alone!" (Against Jin.)
- Troubled but Cute
- Unskilled but Strong: Has absolutely no fighting finesse or legitimate training but can knock you out with a single punch.
Robert "Bob" Richards
Now, let the show begin!
He has practiced martial arts all his life, and was viewed as a genius. His biggest drawback was his small size; he kept repeatedly getting beaten by much larger opponents. So one day, he disappeared from the public eye and put himself through a brutal training regiment that focused on increasing his mass while maintaining his speed and power. When he redebuted, his boyish good looks were gone, but that didn't bother him very much. He enters the King of Iron Fist Tournament 6 to put his new stature and fighting skills to the test.
Tropes associated with Bob:
- Acrofatic: He professes that "speed and weight" are his keys to victory.
- Blood Knight: Not as much emphasis on "blood".
- Chick Magnet: He was apparently this before intentionally making himself fat, and his female fans were none to happy about the changes. However, he doesn't appear to have lost a step, and according to his Tekken 6 ending, the fans eventually warm up to the new him because of his sheer badassery.
- Child Prodigy: In his youth.
- Eagle Land
- Everything's Better with Bob
- Patrick Seitz: His voice actor.
- Shout-Out: Concept art and customizations make him look like The Penguin, Edi. E, and Magi Yellow.
- Take That: This all could've been avoided if only more American players could at least TRY to pronounce "Hwoarang" properly...[1]
- Training from Hell: Self-inflicted.
Lars Alexandersson
You look like you know a thing or two.
One of the leaders of a squad in the Tekken Force. A good natured man who values his men's well being as well as being a formidable fighter, even questioning the righteousness of Jin's current actions. During an assault to Boskonovitch's lab, an incident caused Lars to lose his memory (which he quickly regained) and he sets out on a quest to find out who he really is, accompanied with a Robot Girl named Alisa. Turns out, he's Heihachi's bastard son, which gave him the power of the Mishima Bloodline.
- Action Hero: Pretty much a textbook example. He's fairly good-natured as well. So much so that it's hard to believe he has Mishima blood in his veins.
- I don't think anyone doubts Jinpachi was a Mishima, and all reports point to him having been good-natured before the Devil Gene manifested in him.
- Animal Motifs: Lion
- Anime Accent Absence
- Anime Hair
- Badass Cape
- Bishonen
- Bring My Red Jacket
- But Not Too Foreign: Did anyone expect Tekken to recieve a half-Swedish character?
- Calling the Old Man Out: He actually tries to kill Heihachi, although he doesn't quite say why. Probably for leaving his mother to raise him all alone or thereabouts.
- It's easier to just write it off as more of the Mishima bad blood. Kazuya figures out he's of Mishima descent and settles that he must be another to die at some point.
- The Captain: The leader of the resistance group within the Tekken Force.
- Guest Fighter: Lars is a playable character in Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 2. Specifically, he appears in his bonus outfit, the very same one that was designed by Masashi Kishimoto.
- Flash Step: His moveset utilize this a lot (Silent/Dynamic Entry)
- Gameplay-Guided Amnesia
- The Hero: Seems to be taking over this role in Tekken 6, what with Jin Kazama going on a rampage.
- Heroic Bastard: Like uncle, like nephew?
- Junichi Suwabe: His seiyuu.
- Playing Against Type: Lars is probably one of Suwabe's few most straightforward heroic character, if you compare with Archer, Grimmjow Jeaggerjaques or Relius Clover.
- Law of Chromatic Superiority
- Luke, I Am Your Father: He's Heihachi's bastard son. Subverted in the fact that it's Lars telling Heihachi that he's his son.
- Papa Wolf: Deeply cares for his subordinates, to the point where he sometimes comes close to forgetting the objective when they're in peril.
- Rebel Leader
- You No Take Candle: Okay, you may be Heihachi's illegitimate son, but you're not raised in Japan. How come your Japanese is so fluent and that's all you speak with!?
- Because Namco be damned if their current poster boy spoke in anything other than Japanese.
- Maybe we're looking at the auditory equivalent of Translation Convention?
- In the end, the most likely reason is Namco didn't want to bother hiring a voice actor from Sweden to do Lars' voice. Apparently in Tag 2 they might be re-voicing a lot of characters and giving them dialogue in their native tongue.
- Whoops, scratch that.
- This is actually justified by virtue of the fact that he was a high-ranking Tekken Force soldier, which is the army of the Mishima Zaibatsu, a JAPANESE organization.
- Because Namco be damned if their current poster boy spoke in anything other than Japanese.
Alisa Bosconovitch
Pleased to meet you. I'm Alisa. Now I must terminate you.
A Robot Girl created in image of Dr. Boskonovitch's daughter. She just woke up and the first person she saw is Lars, thus she ended up accompanying him in his quest. She's not really sure of her purpose, however it turns out that her main objective is to protect Jin Kazama, which he used immediately to his advantage, by spying and later, betraying Lars. She's knocked out and was shut down by Lars, and after everything is over, Lars sent her to Lee so she could be restored.
- Artificial Human
- Badass Adorable: Yeah, she's really cute and huggable, until you realize she's designed to be a more adult version of Chise, with enough power and weapons to start World War III.
- Chainsaw Good: She was one in each arm, and she becomes a full-on psycho when she uses them.
- The Korean version gives her [dead link] Laser Blades instead.
- Cloudcuckoolander: At first, at least, she thinks she's an ordinary human; it's really only after Jin disengages her Safe Mode that she accepts that she's actually a machine with a human psyche, not a human or even cyborg. This is made clear if you're playing Ganryu at the beginning of King and Marduk's stage. Amazed at the information she's able to call forth from thin air, Ganryu asks what her secret is. Confused, she says she doesn't have a secret, and figures that Ganryu should be able to do it just fine, with proper effort! In other words, she thinks it's a normal human ability at that point. Should be no surprise, considering her seiyuu.
- Cute Bruiser: Don't let her childish appearance fool you, she's basically the female version of Astro Boy.
- Detachment Combat
- Dissonant Serenity
- Do Androids Dream?
- Expy: Of another of her seiyuu's roles, Nana from Elfen Lied.
- Fan Nickname: Robo-hime, due to her seiyuu voicing Orihime Inoue, another Cloudcuckoolander who believed her "future self" to be a titantic, city-destroying robot.
- Graceful Ladies Like Purple: Her dress is mainly purple.
- Just a Machine: Jin pulls off this speech just after Lars beats Alisa enough to make her systems completely shut down. Cue Lars saying, "Say that again."
- Mad Scientist's Beautiful Daughter: She's given the name of Dr. Bosconovitch's deceased daughter.
- Pink Means Feminine: Her dress has heavy amounts of pink.
- Red Eyes, Take Warning: It's the sign that she's no longer in Safe Mode. Meaning that if Jin tells her to do something--for example, kill Lars--she'll do it with little to no remorse or hesitation.
- Replacement Goldfish: For Dr. Boskonovitch's deceased daughter.
- Robot Girl: Do we really need to explain...?
- Minus the chainsaw, retractable jetpack and detachable head, she's also Ridiculously Human Robot.
- Rose-Haired Girl
- Unexplained Recovery: If you complete all of the Scenario Campaign missions (including the secret ones), you'll unlock additional journal entries which end with Alisa being restored with her memory intact.
- True-Blue Femininity: Her outfit has blue jewels and blue flowers.
- You No Take Candle: Same reason like Lars.
- This is more justifiable seeing as a robot can have any language programmed into it. It's not justified in the game (so it still ends up being as ambiguous as Lars' case) but at least it's more easily explainable.
- Yuki Matsuoka: Her seiyuu.
- Relationship Voice Actor: She and Lars are basically Orihime and... Grimmjow!?
- Cristina Valenzuela: No, not in the game, but will dub her in Tekken: Blood Vengeance.
- Zettai Ryouiki
Azazel
A large, Egyptian god of some kind; referred to fully as "Azazel The Rectifier". Scenario Campaign seems to imply that Azazel is the manifestation of chaos and strife, given a physical form because of the war that Jin Kazama has blanketed the world in. It wears an Egyptian headdress and stands much taller than any playable fighter in the game. Zafina's mission is to stop this beast from being awakened. Jin's ultimate goal is to defeat the monster in mortal combat and rid himself and the world of the Devil Gene, which he seemingly accomplishes at the end of Scenario Campaign.
Tropes associated with Azazel:
- The Beast Master: One of its attacks involves sending a swarm of beetles to ravage you. Of course, since Baek and Wang's endings imply that it's made of beetles...
- Bigger Bad: Jin is the one responsible for the global war but his actions are only so Azazel awakens.
- Crystal Dragon Jesus: A demon enchained by an ancient religion, whose release means the end of the world... and who looks very much like a Crystal Dragon.
- A God Am I
- Load-Bearing Boss
- Meaningful Name
- Sealed Evil in a Can
- SNK Boss: Oh, so very, very much.
- True Final Boss: There is a secret Golden version of him who appears only randomly on Ultra Hard difficulty. Golden Azazel is much, MUCH harder than regular Ultra Hard Azazel and has some deleted moves from before Bloodline Rebellion he doesn't have normally. Beating him awards you 20,000,000 Gold... if you don't lose. Then it gets downgraded to 1,000,000. Perfecting him nets you 100,000,000 gold.
- Spin Attack: This boss spins horizontally AND vertically!
- Super-Powered Evil Side: Not by himself, but is said to be the source of the Devil Gene. Several endings involve his core forcing a transformation in the winner.
- Telepathy: Raven notes that he speaks telepathically.
- Violation of Common Sense: Somewhat. The secret to success against this boss is to be hyper-offensive, and stay as close to him as possible, since his attacks are more devestating the further away you are in fact, if you're close enough to him, his bone spike eruption attacks will not connect. It takes some players a while to catch this, since your first instinct when you see how big and flashy his attacks are is to keep your distance and defend.
- The Voiceless: He just growls. Unless it's Scenario Campaign.
- Weaksauce Weakness: Azazel may be HORRIFICALLY hard to fight, but he will, almost without fail, walk RIGHT INTO Kuma's fart attack. How humiliating.
- Spamming a Moonsault Slayer as Yoshimitsu is a lesser example...but its unblockable properties convince Azazel to step back a notch or two. Even on Ultra Hard.
- You Can't Fight Fate: This is the main reason why he believes humanity deserves extermination. At the start of the Scenario Campaign confrontation, he speaks of how humanity has brought wreckage to the world, a situation he plans to rectify. After thumping him, Lars declares that he sees no reason why humanity can't ascend beyond its less-than-stellar past. Azazel responds that this non-passive attitude is precisely why humanity is unfit to exist—it refuses to accept the authority of fate. In other words, the only things worthy of existence in Azazel's eyes are things that let themselves be used and abused however fate sees fit. Self-determination by mortal life? Presumably an abomination.
Lars: "You're just a monster with a god complex."
- ↑ The American Tekken community used "Bob" as a shorthand nickname for Hwoarang ("Boy On Bike"), since his name is difficult to spell and pronounce. Namco was none too pleased about that.
