Sentinela

Sentinela (also Sentinila) is one of the 44 barangays of the municipality of Ubay, in the province of Bohol, Philippines. It is a coastal barangay, 9 kilometres (5.6 mi) from the centre.

The barangay's total land area is 271 hectares (670 acres).[3] According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 939.[1]

Sentinela celebrates its annual fiesta on 29 May in honor of their patron saint.

Location

Located in the northeastern peninsula of the municipality, Sentinela overlooks Camotes Sea to the north, east and west. To the south, it is bounded by San Isidro and Tapal. Sentinela is 9 km (5.6 mi) from the town center, Poblacion.

Sentinela has an island sitio called Tres Reyes, also known as Chico islet, which is 0.60 nmi (1.11 km; 0.69 mi) offshore, at heading 030°, with an area of 45 hectares (110 acres). The people of Tres Reyes are mostly fisherman.

There are six puroks overseen by the elected kagawads. Three puroks are on Bohol main island, and three are on Tres Reyes.
