Juagdan is one of the 44 barangays of the municipality of Ubay, in the province of Bohol, Philippines.

The barangay's total land area is 131 hectares (320 acres).[3] According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 1,185.[1]

Juagdan celebrates its annual fiesta on 23 May in honor of the patron saint.

Location

Located on the eastern peninsula of the municipality, Juagdan overlooks Bohol Sea to the east; it is bounded to the north by Cagting, to the south by Guintaboan and to the west by Biabas. It is 16 km (9.9 mi) from the town center, Poblacion.

History

Juagdan was once a big barrio of the municipality. However, during the 1950s and years after, former sitios like Cagting, Cuya, Guintaboan and Tintinan separated and became independent barangays.

The name Juagdan came from the Visayan word hagdan which means "bridge or pathway".
