Gem-associated protein 7

Gem-associated protein 7 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the GEMIN7 gene.[5][6]The gem-associated proteins are those found in the gems of Cajal bodies.

Function

The protein encoded by this gene is a component of the core SMN complex, which is required for pre-mRNA splicing in the nucleus. The encoded protein is found in the nucleoplasm, in nuclear "gems" (Gemini of Cajal bodies), and in the cytoplasm. Three transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene.[6]

Interactions

Gem-associated protein 7 has been shown to interact with SMN1[5][7] and Gem-associated protein 6.[5] [8]

gollark: `LOAD`/`STOR` can be made overly multipurpose by accepting a register to load the address from as well as a constant.
gollark: I just had an idea for using the spare space!
gollark: It does not wrap around. You are invoking undefined behaviot.
gollark: I'm being indecisive about whether I should just keep the existing instruction format and just leave some bits unused in `STOR/LOAD`/hopefully find something to do with them, or switch out `ADDI` and use the spare space to make instructions excessively conditional.
gollark: So reassigning yet another register to hold a bunch of flags or something, splitting ADDI back into multiple instructions, and using the extra space for conditionals could work.
