Specifications

Design

The Motorola Edge is constructed using an anodized aluminum frame, a plastic back, and curved Gorilla Glass 5 on the front. The top left corner of the display has a circular cutout for the front-facing camera. On the back, the rear camera module houses an oval array with the LED flash offset to the right, and protrudes slightly. The available colors are Solar Black and Midnight Magenta.

Hardware

The Edge uses the Snapdragon 765G processor with the Adreno 620 GPU. The sole storage option is 128 GB of UFS 2.1 which can be expanded via microSDXC, paired with 4 or 6 GB of LPDDR4X RAM. The display is an OLED panel with HDR10 support, featuring an optical (under-screen) fingerprint sensor. A 6.7-inch (170mm) 1080p screen is used, with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and a 90 Hz refresh rate. The battery capacity is 4500 mAh; wired fast charging is supported over USB-C at 18W, although wireless charging is not supported. Stereo speakers and a 3.5mm audio jack are also included. The Edge's camera setup consists of a 64 MP wide sensor, a 16 MP ultrawide sensor, an 8 MP telephoto sensor, and a time-of-flight sensor. The front camera uses a 25 MP sensor.

Software

The Edge runs on a near-stock version of Android 10, with custom features in the pre-installed Moto app.

gollark: I have no idea about that specific API, I'll check.
gollark: Modern password hashing functions are designed to be slow to run (and to be fastest on general-purpose computing hardware and not ASICs) to mitigate this sort of thing.
gollark: If you do *not* use that, then people can store a bunch of precalculated mappings from hashes to original passwords (rainbow tables, yes) and work out the original.
gollark: That's why salts are recommended (they're a bit of extra data you store along with the password and feed to the hash function when hashing it in the first place and comparing passwords with the hash).
gollark: The main attack on this is that you can, sometimes even using dedicated ASICs/FPGAs, run hashes *very fast* on a lot of possibilities and figure out what the original password was.
