Miss Malta is a national beauty pageant in Malta.
History
The Miss Malta contest was established in 1963 by the George and Deggie Gatt Mangion as GM Productions.
In the early years the winner participated in Miss World pageant. Between the years 1968 and 2001 the Miss Malta winners participated in the Miss Universe pageant, returning to the pageant in 2016. Rosalie Theuma was the last Maltese representative in Miss Universe. After this, starting from the year 2013,[1] the Miss Malta winner took part in Miss Intercontinental and managed to make it into the Top 15 semi-finalists in the year 2007 with Jasmin Schellmann.[2]

Big Four pageants representatives
The following women have represented Malta in the Big Four international beauty pageants, the four major international beauty pageants for women.[5][6] These are Miss World, Miss Universe, Miss International and Miss Earth.[7][8][9]

- Between 1968 and 2001 Miss Malta winners went to Miss Universe. From 2002 to 2015 No Miss Malta in the history. Began in 2016 the winner of Miss Universe Malta goes to Miss Universe. On occasion, when the winner does not qualify (due to age) for either contest, a runner-up is sent.
