History

2005: Delegate

2005: The very first Jamaican delegate for Miss Earth Jamaica is Juel Daisi Pollard, she competed in the 2005 Miss Earth pageant held in Quezon City, Philippines.

2020-Present: Synonyms Jamaica, Limited

As of January 2020 Synonyms Jamaica, Limited is the organization that manages the national competition for Miss Earth Jamaica. The organization is based in Kingston, Jamaica.

Beauties for a Cause

The pageant was established for women to promote environmental awareness. The contestants are required to be informed, goal-oriented and environmentally conscious. Delegates will work with local and international groups (government and non-government) that are actively involved in environmental causes that exemplify the slogan 'Beauties for a Cause'.[1]

The winner of Miss Earth Jamaica becomes a goodwill ambassador and spokesperson for Jamaica in its environmental and tourism industries. The selected delegate will also facilitate environmental projects and educate others on the three R's (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle). In addition, on the world stage Miss Earth Jamaica will promote Jamaica as an ecofriendly tourist destination.[2]
