Kinnikuman: Muscle Fight
Kinnikuman: Muscle Fight is an unofficial 2-D Fighting Game for the Kinnikuman Manga series. It uses the 2D Fighter Maker engine for Windows 95, which means it won't work in newer Windows OS computers[1]. Although, there are emulators that enable play if you look hard enough. Muscle Fight features many of the characters from the manga and anime adaptation and it has all of their moves even if they only used it once in-series. In a sense, this game is like the All-Star Battle fighting game for the Kinnikuman series.
The game can be found here. It's in Japanese, though.
Tropes used in Kinnikuman: Muscle Fight include:
- Abnormal Ammo: Maam fires magical bullets from her pistol in her God of Martial Arts form.
- Absurdly Bright Light: Mr. Nakano can blind his foes by reflecting the light off his bald scalp.
- Acrofatic: Despite being fat, Beauty Rhodes and both of the Budos can keep up with the other wrestlers in speed.
- Adaptational Badass: In the orginal manga, Kinnikuman Big Body is a Jobber for Kinnikuman Super Phoenix. In Kinnikuman: Muscle Fight, he's given a complete moveset based on the moveset from Kinnikuman: Muscle Grand Prix 2 and Kinnikuman: Dirty Challenger. He also has two new supers, which are variations of the Muscle Inferno and Muscle Revenger.
- All-American Face
- Terryman is an American fighting for the Justice Choujin side. He even has a move that causes him to save a dog, but he is disqualified in the process [2]. This is a reference to his disqualification in the 21st Choujin Olympic qualifiers.
- Beauty Rhodes uses this to build up super meter. He even get the audience to cheer for them by taunting his foe because the foe is seen as a Heel by the audience.
- Anime Chinese Girl: Maam dresses up like one, and even kicks butt like one.
- Arm Cannon: Cobra uses the Psychogun in some of his attacks.
- Art Evolution: Since the game has a pretty long development time, Matayan is known for putting sprite updates into various characters and making them look nicer as a result. This can be seen in the Mountain, Kinnikuman Soldier, Sneagator, Kinniku Suguru and Kinnikuman Big Body.
- Ascended Extra: There are characters who only had one fight to their name in the original manga. As a result, they are given more complete movesets.
- Asskicking Pose:
- The members of Team Big Body have victory poses with the rest of the team.
- In the 08/18/2017 update, Kinnikuman Soldier poses with the rest of the Chojin Blood Brigade if he gets a victory with high enough health. The poses are based on the artwork from volume 28.
- Assault with a Deadly Antler: Ganman has a set of antlers on top of his head and he's not afraid to use them to massacre his opponent.
- Ass Shove: Benkiman uses the kancho pranking technique as one of his grabs.
- Assist Character:
- Mr. Nakano can call upon his wife, Kimiko, in one of his supers. Kimiko proceeds to slap the hell out of her foe, which hurts a lot.
- Since Jean Steamboard and Emperor Mode Beauty Rhodes are a tag team during the American Tour arc, they can call each other in some of their moves in Muscle Fight.
- Specialman shows up in some of Canadianman's attacks and even has a combination attack with him.
- Buffaloman calls upon the other Devil Choujin during one of his supers. They viciously attack the foe before Buffaloman ends the move by launching Springman at the foe with a Spring Bazooka. Springman can call Buffaloman in, so Springman can perform the Spring Bazooka attack.

- Haniwaman can call upon Haniwa Satan in a few of his attacks.
- Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: Canadianman can scale himself up for one of his special intros, letting him do damage before the round starts.
- Authority Equals Asskicking: As the leaders of their respective factions, Akuma Shogun, the Hell Missionaries and Strong the Budou are the strongest members.
- Avenging the Villain: Woolman has a special intro where he mourns the loss of his comrades on the true Kinnikuman Soldier's team. If he wins with low health, he brutalizes Ashuraman, Brocken Jr., Buffaloman, The Ninja, and fake Kinnikuman Soldier. As the bell rings, signifying the end of the round, images of Woolman's comrades appear behind him as he kneels in sadness.
- An Axe to Grind: Barrierfreeman, Canadianman and Geronimo wield an axe in their supers. Barrierfreeman turns into Nils and goes into a berserk fury in their super. Canadianman tosses the axe in his, and he can make it grow with another super meter. Geronimo's super involves him chopping furiously at his foe, which somehow harms him in the process.
- Badass Family:
- Three of the Brocken family are selectable characters in this game. Since they all are Choujin, they can fight the toughest foes out there.
- The 4D Choujin family aren't slouches either. Bermuda III essentially fights as a three-way team in game focusing on one-on-one matches. Pentagon can fly at Mach 1 and can stop time. Black Hole specializes in fighting the shadows and using his face hole to send foes off into another dimension.
- Badass Grandpa: Barrierfreeman when Jijioman takes control of their body. His Narayama Backbreaker is a pretty devastating move.
- Badass Normal: Geronimo and Scramble for the Throne Brocken Jr. are humans. Despite their handicap, they can kick Choujin ass pretty well.
- The Bad Guy Wins:
- If Neptune King has a perfect victory, he steals Kinnikuman's mask.

- Bare-Fisted Monk: Unlike most of the fighters in this game. Ramenman fights like a martial artist.
- Big OMG: Jean Steamboard yells this when he's KOed.

- Bikeman has the Electromachines super. Mr. VTR leaps into the ring and shrinks the opponent. Bikeman runs over the opponent a few times in motorcycle form before Mr. VTR changes the arena. - Extremity Extremist:
- Mixer Taitei specializes in knocking opponents down and using moves from the mount position.
- Additionally, Terryman's style is clearly boxing inspired and most of his special moves and strong attacks are punches (even though one of his signature attacks is the Texas Condor Kick, but even that's actually done with the knees rather than the feet).
- Fartillery: The Kinnikuman from the 1st anime and Puripuriman have fart special moves.
- Final Death: If the player loses a match in arcade mode, they can't continue because their Choujin Prophecy page is burnt to a crisp.

- Five Moves of Doom:
- Kinnikuman and Prince Kamehame's Fu-Rin-Ka-Zan. Dirty Baron can also do a Baron Fu-Rin-Ka-Zan. Kinnikuman has two variants: one switching the Reverse Romero Special with a Kinniku Buster and one ending with the Kinniku Driver followed by the Kinniku Buster.
- Ramenman has a three-part Level 3 Super, referencing the victory move against Motorman. The three moves are Flying Dragontail Kick, Flying Leg Lariat and the Camel Clutch. This Camel Clutch is brutal since it involves Ramenman messily tearing off the opponent's upper half.
- Brocken Jr. has a level 2 Red Rain of Berlin super. He can follow it up with an elbow drop and, at the cost of an additional super meter, add on a Camel Clutch for extra damage. Ramenman can easily reverse it, though.

- Fusion Fic: There are mashups of Street Fighter characters in this game. These include a version of Ramenman with Guile's moveset, Puripulsim[11], Sagashine [12], Vegaken Jr. [13]. These characters are considered joke characters since they barely do any damage in comparison to the canon characters.
- Game Mod: The game has Muscle Gear, a tool used to easily create any kind of match the player wants to set up and increase the difficulty of their opponent. It can be used to create AI tournaments; these videos are seen mostly on Nico Nico Douga.
- Gameplay and Story Segregation:
- Jesse Maivia has a cutin where Kinnikuman explains Jesse Maivia's weakness to his foe. This even occurs when Kinnikuman isn't his opponent.
- Stecasse King has a variation of his Jigoku Symphony doesn't harm his foe because the classical music station is interrupted by the Gyudon Ondo. There's a part where Kinnikuman laughs at Stecasse King and Buffaloman. This still happens even if Kinnikuman isn't Stecasse King's foe.
- If Atlantis KOs his foe with the Atlantis Driver, there's a cutscene where he proudly displays Robin Mask's helmet. This plays even if Robin Mask isn't Atlantis's foe. He can also use the Devil Choujin Blood Bind technique even though it's supposed to only affect Kinnikuman at that point in story. Also he can use it against Stecasse King, Black Hole, Mr. Khamen, and The Mountain even though they're the Choujin who show up as part of the technique.
- During the first round, Kinnikuman Great can kick his foe hard during one of his supers. This causes his foe to drop a mysterious chest. If Kinnikuman Great catches it, he recovers a super meter. This is supposed to a reference to Kinnikuman Great attempting to recover Friendship Power from Ashuraman. This can still happen even if Ashuraman isn't Kinnikuman Great's foe.
- Ashuraman can use the Hell Canvas technique even if his foe is supposed to be among the Choujin sealed in the canvas.
- Generation Xerox: Kinniku Mantaro is the son of Kinnikuman, so they share a similar moveset and the Burning Inner Strength. Mantaro even has a combination attack with one of his friends. However, it is not done with Terry the Kid[14]. Instead, it is done with Kevin Mask[15]

- Gravity Sucks: Black Hole and Bermuda B can send their foes into a pocket dimension by sucking them up with their personal blackholes.

- Grenade Spam: Brockenman tosses grenades in a few of his attacks.
- Guest Fighter: Cobra, Maam, Momotaro Tsurugi, Stroheim and Tarou Yamada[16] show in this game.
- Half the Man He Used To Be: Ramenman can tear a man in half with his Camel Clutch technique. The Anime version of Ramenman even holds up the body and laughs evilly. However, sprite limitations mean that the foe's body is still intact.
- Handshake Substitute: Beauty Rhodes and Jean Steamboard have a special intro that shows them giving a brofist to each other. This makes sense as they are a tag-team in the original manga.
- Healing Shiv: Before the 5/06/18 update, Kinniku Suguru had the Face Flash technique. It healed his foe, but they lost a bar of super meter in the process.
- Heal Thyself
- Kinnikuman has the Muscle of Finale desperation move. It heals him, but it only be done when Kinnikuman is low on health.
- Geronimo has the Heart Massage technique. If done with full health and/or with any meter, it harms him instead.
- Mr. VTR can heal himself by cutting out the footage that shows him getting KOed.
- Heroic RROD: Kinnikuman Soldier has the True Burning Inner Strength mode. If he doesn't kill his opponent with his Muscle Spark, he loses a majority of his moves because his page is being burnt. When he gets hit in this state, he reenacts his death scene with Kinnikuman Super Phoenix. Winning in this mode will get Kinnikuman Soldier and Kinnikuman to don their royal armor in a reference to one of the manga covers.
- High-Pressure Blood: Some characters are known for causing their foes to spill blood. Atlantis's St. Helen eruption, Junkman's Junk Crush attacks, and Mammothman's Ghost Canvas stand out the most.
- Horn Attack:
- In his murderous persona, some of Robin Mask's attacks involve using the horn on his helmet.
- Buffaloman uses his unbroken horn in some of his attacks. It's quite versatile, seeing as it can grow in size and suck power out of his opponents.
- Ganman has his powerful elk horns. He can use them to pinch his opponents in place or use them to shred his opponents like a blender.
- Hulking Out: Barrierfreeman can turn into a much larger version of Jijioman as one of their desperation attacks. Jijioman wails upon his foe and finishes them with a spine-breaking Narayama Backbreaker.
- Human Cannonball:
- Benkiman can launch the previous victims of his toilet flushing technique[17] out of his toilet like a cannon.
- Sunshine can launch Ashuraman out of his Cursed Rollers as one of their combination attacks.
- Cannonballer fits the description pretty well. He can launch himself at his foe in some of his attack. He even uses Leopardon as a cannon in one of his supers.
- The Mari is a living volleyball, so he can use himself as a deadly projectile
- An Ice Person:
- The Mountain somehow creates a mini-blizzard during his Daisetzusan Oroshi technique.
- Planetman can freeze his foes with his Sub Zero Figure 4 Neck Lock. He can follow up with a knee drop for extra damage.
- Ashuraman has the Shinsetsu Jigoku. He covers the ring in snow before diving into it with his foe, causing his foe to freeze.
- Mammothman and Robin Mask can do the Ice Rock Gyro. Mammothman's version is much stronger because it is a level 3 super. Robin Mask's version is more versatile as it can be chained into the Greenwich Time Crush or Robin Special 2nd.
- The Ninja can turn the ring into water and freeze it instantly with his Ninja Art Absolute Zero.
- I Know Madden Kombat: Jean Steamboard has a pair of supers based on the sports of volleyball and soccer. Mayumi Kinniku makes cameos in both of those attacks. Mayumi attempts to save the foe, but ends up causing more damage. If Jean wins a victory during the soccer super, Sayuri will toss Mayumi face-first at the camera.
- Incurable Cough of Death: Dr. Bombe was suffering from an illness in the original manga. Sometimes, Dr. Bombe is shown coughing in a few of his idle stances.
- I'm a Humanitarian: Ramenman's Anime version has a finisher move that turns Brockenman into noodles [18]. He proceeds to devour said noodles.
- Impaled with Extreme Prejudice:
- Curry Cook can impale his foe with his Charkha Sting technique. He does this with a diving kick to the gut.
- Buffaloman can impale his foes with his horn. This trope is exemplified with the Longhorn Train combination attack.
- Screw Kid can impale his foes by extending his drill bits from his arms and knees.
- During one of his supers, Kinnikuman Mariposa impales his foe with the fragments of a ringpost to hold them in place while he performs many kinds of wrestling techniques on them. The last of his desperation attack version of the Phony Revenger has Mariposa turning the canvas into a sharp spike and impaling his foe on top of it.
- Mammothman can impale his foes with his tusks and his trunk.
- Improbable Weapon User
- Mr. Nakano can toss his wig when he fights.
- Curry Cook uses a spoon and the curry from the bowl on his head as weapons. He rubs curry into his opponent's body parts in some of his techniques and throw it as a projectile in his Allspice Shield technique.
- Teapack Man uses gigantic tea bags filled with iron sand. He can also dump scalding hot tea from his head at his foes.
- Mr. Khamen uses a straw when fighting. He can suck blood out of a foe's body and heal himself with it. He can also use the canvas as cloth for his Mummy Package.
- Screw Kid and Kendaman use glass shards in some of their desperation moves.
- Prismman can carve up the canvas and kick it at his foe as projectiles.
- Perfect Origin!Akuma Shogun can use his dumbbell as a powerful club.
- Interface Spoiler: Kinnikuman Soldier is called Kinniku Ataru in game, ruining the fact that he's Kinnikuman's brother.
- I Shall Taunt You
- Canadianman, as an Expy of Dan Hibiki, can do this. He even has a taunt for a super move. If he completes it, Specialman shows up and heals him.
- Beauty Rhodes and Jean Steamboard can build up super meter with their taunts.
- Kinniku Suguru can taunt his foe. It builds up super meter for him. If it is completed, the foe loses super meter.
- Joke Character:
- Canadianman is the Dan Hibiki of Muscle Fight. He even has a super taunt like Dan. He also has an intro based on the scene where the Stray Devil Combination steals the Big Bombers' spot, giving the foe an easy victory. It fills up Canadianman's meter, though. He's such a joke, that Stecasse King would rather eject his tape instead of fighting with Canadianman's style.
- King Cobra is just as bad. He has poor range and weak attacks. As a reference to Kinnikuman's victory over King Cobra, there's a chance that one of King Cobra's supers may cause him to expose his wick. If he is grabbed in this state, the foe could rub him against the ropes and light him up.
- Joke Item:
- Kinnikuman has the Gyudon Ondo as a super. It barely does any damage, but switches the BGM to a version of Kinnikuman Sensation.
- Stecasse King has the "Kinnikuman from 3 years ago" tape. When Stecasse King uses it, he becomes a coward and becomes a complete joke.

- Off with His Head: Mammothman can decapitate his foe with his Ghost Canvas technique. Due to sprite limitations, the foe's head still remains intact.
- Old Master: Since Prince Kamehame was the one who taught Kinnikuman, he knows the ins and outs of his moves. He can even reverse the Kinniku Buster and Kinniku Driver.
- One-Hit Kill:
- Prince Kamehame has the 3-count pinfall backdrop. If done correctly, it can KO an opponent instantly. Prince Kamehame even has a special intro with Kinnikuman that lets Prince Kamehame earn an instant victory over Kinnikuman.

- If Kinnikuman or Puripuriman does the fart attack in Black Hole's portable dimension, they break out and fall on top of Black Hole, KOing him instantly.

- Patchwork Fic: This game seems to be a mixture of the anime, the manga, and the movies. Character palettes are taken from the anime and the manga. Wolfman is called Rikishiman in-game. The Anime Ramenman seems to have samples from all of his voice actors. It's possible for Dirty Baron to fight Kinnikuman Super Phoenix or for Big the Budo to fight Strong the Budo.
- Perpetual Beta: Because of his dedication to Kinnikuman, Matayan has been releasing characters for this game for more than a decade. As long as the revival is going, Matayan should have more material for this game.

Robin Mask shows up in a cut-in and describes Pyramid Power for the player.
- Rapid-Fire Fisticuffs:
- Many of Rikshiman's attacks are rapid-fire slap attacks since Rikshiman is a sumo wrestler.
- Kinnikuman Zebra has the Saint Muscle Punch, Mephisto Punch, and Savannah Punch techniques. The Saint Muscle Punch technique allows Zebra to throw many punches in an instant. Mephisto Punch is essentially a punch so fast, the air around it turns into a projectile. The Savannah Punch is a flurry of punches made more deadly by having Zebra hold iron balls in his hands.
- As an homage to King of Fighters, Kinnikuman Soldier can do this as one of his supers.
- Reality Warper: Mr. VTR can alter the arena and heal himself by altering the footage on his body. He even does this in Mixer Taitei's reversal of the Kinniku Driver.
- Relax-O-Vision: One of Curry Cook's desperation supers has him wail on his helpless opponent on the ring ropes until they are bloody and battered. A censor screen is placed to block out the rest of the beating, but it's too late. He already killed his opponent. When the screen vanishes, Curry Cook is the only one left standing,
- Ret-Gone: If Kinnikuman Super Phoenix wins with his True Muscle Revenger, the page containing the foe's history is burnt away. This causes the foe to be erased while the Five Evil Gods and Kinnikuman Super Phoenix look on in laughter.
