< Five-Bad Band
Five-Bad Band/Anime
- The Zabi family, rulers of Zeon, from the original Mobile Suit Gundam
- The Big Bad - Sovereign Degwin, though he's not up to much direct villainy.
- The Dragon, Dragon-in-Chief, and The Starscream - Prince Gihren, who commands the army, devises their strategies, and keeps up morale via Rousing Speech.
- The Evil Genius - Princess Kycilia (she was the one to actually research and deploy Newtypes, instead of just using them for propaganda. Also the one to re-hire Char, which was smart but not terribly foresighted...)
- The Brute - Prince Dozle, a 7-foot tall Genius Bruiser who serves as one of Zeon's best admirals.
- The Dark Chick - Prince Garma (male, but Fanservicey, and explicitly only had his position due to family connections, which explains his constant and desperate need to prove himself to his siblings.)
- The Enigmatic Minion - Char Aznable (who serves as The Dragon for Dozle, then Garma, then Kycilia, with the rather successful goal of stabbing the whole family in the back.)
- Mobile Suit Gundam 00 (Season 1)
- Big Bad Wannabe: Alejandro Corner
- The Dragon: Ali Al-Saachez
- The Evil Genius & The Man Behind the Man: Ribbons Almark
- The Brute(s): Michael and Johan Trinity
- The Dark Chick: Nena Trinity
- The Innovades from Mobile Suit Gundam 00
- The Big Bad - Ribbons Almarck
- Dragon with an Agenda and The Starscream - Regene Regetta (S/He failed in taking over for her/his scheme so s/he ends up helping the heroes)
- The Dragon - Ali Al-Saachez (Also the Sixth Ranger)
- The Evil Genius (Bruiser) - Revive Revival
- The Brute(s) - Bring Stabity, Devine Nova and Dark Action Girl Healing Care
- The Dark Chick and Sacrificial Lamb - Anew Returner
- Sixth Ranger: Louise Havely; arguably Ali, who does double duty as The Dragon.
- The A-LAWS from Mobile Suit Gundam 00
- The Big Bad - Homer Katagiri
- Bigger Bad and Man Behind the Man - "FUCKING" Ribbons Almarck
- The Dragon - Arthur Goodman
- The Evil Geniuses - Arba Lindt, Kati Mannequin and Billy Katagiri

- Tagalong Kid - Louise Halevy (doubles as The Brute when Soma leaves)
- Sacrificial Lamb - Barrack Zinnin
- Sixth Ranger(s) - Revive Revival, Bring Stabity, Hilling Care and Devine Nova
- The Big Bad - Homer Katagiri
- Gundam Seed - The Le Creuset Team
- The Big Bad & Evil Genius - Rau Le Creuset: He not only leads the team, but is The Man Behind the Man to pretty much everyone in show.
- The Dragon - Athrun Zala: The Hero's ex-best friend, the second-in-command of the team, and the best pilot after Le Creuset himself.
- The Brute (s) - Dearka Elsman (The proud and unsubtle owner of a BFG) and Yzak Joule (a borderline Sociopathic Soldier who really enjoys close-up fighting).
- The Dark Chick - Nicol Amalfi: Probably the least capable pilot, Nicol makes up for it via technological advantages, including a cloaking device. Normally he'd be The Evil Genius, but on this team, his smarts make him stand out as much or more than his nice guy personality.
- Sacrificial Lamb - Rusty Mackenzie, Miguel Aiman
- Gundam Seed - The Earth Forces
- The Big Bad : Muruta Azrael, psychopathic madman and The Man Behind the Man to the entire Earth Sphere Alliance (although he's only a Big Bad Wannabe within the overall context of the show, being an Unwitting Pawn of Le Creuset)
- The Dragon & The Evil Genius: Captain William Sutherland. Azrael's link to the General Staff, he serves as the bastard's Number Two, and is responsible for most of the Earth Forces' heinous strategic decisions. In Azrael's absence he leads the Earth Forces' navy in his flagship, the Doolittle.
- The Brute(s): Shani Andras, Clotho Bauer, and Orga Sabnak. A trio of Psycho Serum-enhanced Super Soldier Slave Mooks who serve as expendable muscle for Azrael's ship, the Dominion.
- The Dark Chick: Natarle Badgiruel. Captain of the Dominion (the Earth Forces' most advanced and prestigious ship) she ferries Azrael and the Brute squad around and helps lead the charge against ZAFT; she also lacks the mental instability of the other band members and eventually pulls a Heel Face Turn.
- Sixth Ranger: Flay Allster. Head Bridge Bunny on the Dominion, she joins following the ship's launch, and serves as a second Dark Chick.
- Gundam Seed Destiny - The Phantom Pain
- The Big Bad - Lord Djibril: Azrael's successor, Djibril's the Diabolical Mastermind and Card-Carrying Villain behind this incarnation of the Earth Sphere Alliance.
- The Dragon and Team Dad - Neo Roanoke: Djibril's right-hand man, Neo leads the Phantom Pain strike team and keeps the Extended in line, while serving as the Earth Forces' best field commander and a capable mobile suit pilot to boot. He eventually Heel Face Turns.
- The Evil Genius - Sting Oakley: The de facto leader of the Extended trio, Sting's no genius, but is the only member of the team to Know When to Fold'Em, and fullfills The Smart Guy role by making sure the other two stick to the plan.
- The Brute - Auel Neider: Agressive, violent, and (at least initially) the most unstable of the Extended trio, Auel serves as muscle and little more.
- The Dark Chick - Stella Louissier: The only female member of the Extended trio, Stella's further separated from her teammates by being an emotionally-retarded ditz with a crush on one of their opponents, and a genuine Tragic Villain.
- Gundam Seed Destiny - The ZAFT Team. They fit the archetype, even if they're not especially evil (well, except for Durandal).
- The Big Bad & Evil Genius - Chairman Gilbert Durandal: More or less uses everyone in order to install his genetic determinist utopia.
- The Dragon - Rey Za Burrel: The Chairman's right hand and spy aboard the Minerva, keeps the others in line, Expy of the previous Big Bad. Heel Face Turns at the last minute and kills Durandal.
- The Brute - Shinn Asuka He's of a more heroic bent then most, but still fits the profile: lack of subtlety, emotional, easily controlled by The Dragon, allows rage to cloud his reasoning.
- The Dark Chick - Lunamaria Hawke and/or Captain Talia Gladys (both female, both serve for reasons other than personal loyalty to the Chairman, both have doubts about what they're doing).
- Mazinger Z:
- The Big Bad: Dr. Hell, although he also has traits of Evil Genius.
- The Lancer: Baron Ashura.
- The Evil Genius: Archduke Gorgon. On the surface he would seem The Brute, but in reality he was a manipulative, conniving, scheming, Magnificent Bastard prefered using his intelligence before his -considerable- physical strength- and provided The Big Bad with increasingly powerful weapons.
- The Brute: Count Brocken. Although he is not so physically powerful like Gorgon, he commanded his own corps and would often rather using strength instead of cunning. He is an ex-Nazi officer, so he definitely liked getting his hands dirty.
- The Dark Chick: Viscount Pygman. He was not a girl but he definitely stood out and he definitely was considered a freak. His skills, abilities and powers were also very different of his colleagues' ones.
- Amachi's Army from Worst:
- Code Geass - The Holy Britannian Empire Imperial Family.

- The Dragon - Adelheid Suzuki
- The Brute(s) - Aoba,Mizuno,Ooyama
- Evil Genius - Julie(also The Starscream)

- Kinnikuman - The seven Devils can be considered a sort of a seven man band, with some roles being doubled up on:
- Big Bad - Buffaloman
- The Dragon - Springman
- Evil Genius - Mr. Khamen/Black Hole
- The Brute - Mountain
- Dark Chick - Atlantis/Stecase King (One of Atlantis attacks involves squeezing an opponent's head until blood starts spurting out the top, so I think he qualifies).
- Also the Six Devil Knights from the next arc of Kinnikuman
- Big Bad - Akuma Shogun
- The Dragon - Ashuraman
- Evil Genius - The Ninja/Planetman
- The Brute - Junkman/Sneagator
- The Dark Chick - Sunshine (thanks to the Hidden Depths we find out about him later on)

- Big Bad - Kinnikuman Super Phoenix
- The Dragon - Omegaman
- Evil Genius - Satan Cross
- The Brute - Mammothman (and how...)
- The Dark Chick - Prisman (obviously the weakest of the group)
- Kinnikuman Nisei - The Demon Seed:
- Big Bad - Reborn Ashuraman
- The Dragon - Voltman (beating him requires Kevin Mask to undergo Training from Hell)
- Evil Genius - Meltdown/The Tattooman (both proficient in psychological warfare) Also The Constellation.
- The Brute - Voltman
- The Dark Chick - Gepparland (his original form is a cute-looking merman who is shown being battered by prejudiced humans, and he is the only Demon Seed who shows fear when faced with his punishment)
- Schwarz from Mai-Otome
- The Big Bad - Nagi
- The Dragons - Nina (combatant) and Sergei (advisor)
- The Evil Genius - John Smith
- The Brute and The Dark Chick - Tomoe
- Villain Secret Service - the other three Valkyries (Lee, Nobue and Jeanne by name). All three are convinced to Heel Face Turn when Mashiro tells them that they have a bigger enemy to fight. Their boss vehemently refuses to turn, leaving her all alone on the side of bad.
- Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A's
- The "Big Bad" - Hayate
- The "Dragon" - Signum
- The "Brute" - Vita
- The "Dark" White Magician Girl - Shamal
- Team Pet or The (secondary) "Brute" - Zafira
- That was in massive "sarcasm quotes"
- Lyrical Nanoha Force - The Huckebein Family
- The Big Bad - Curren (Undisputable leader of the group and apparently their most powerfull member. Also the only member with "Huckebein" as her true last name).
- The Dragon - Either Cypha (the most dangerous in battle so far) or Fortis (see The Evil Genius below).
- The Evil Genius - Fortis (Seems to be the "brains" of the group and Curren's second in command of sorts when she's absent. Also have a calmer and more affable attitude than most of his comrades save Curren).
- The Brute - Either Veyron (along with some shades of Enigmatic Minion) or Deville (who seems to be the most physically stronger member of the team and seems to be sort of a boosted Mighty Glacier in combat).
- The Dark Chick - Arnage - The most normal one of the bunch, which is saying something.
- Stella seems to be the Tagalong Kid with some bits of Enfante Terrible and Creepy Child thrown into the mix.
- Naruto
- The Sound Four/Five (Evil Counterpart to Team 10, though they only fight two of that teams members, and only Jiroubou fights his direct counterpart, Choji)
- Bigger Bad - Orochimaru, Kabuto has shades of this
- Big Bad - Kaguya Kimimaro (terminally ill bone-wielding murder machine and Orochimaru's own sometime Dragon.)
- The Dragon - Sakon and his twin Ukon, the most femme-looking out of the squad and therefore the most violent.
- Evil Genius - Kidoumaru (who looks like he fits the "less manically evil" trope until he's left alone with the heroes, then proceeds to get his sadistic nerd on.)
- The Brute - Jiroubou (a light subversion in that he's quite smart enough to couple his attacks with some serious emotional abuse. Also seems to have the most common sense of the group. Evil Counterpart to Choji)
- The Dark Chick - Tayuya
- Then Hebi/Taka
- Big Bad Sasuke
- The Dragon Sugetsu
- Evil Genius/Dark Chick Karin
- The Brute Jugo
- It gets even better. The Six Paths Of Pain form one, with Nagato as The Man Behind the Man.
- The Big Bad: Deva Path. By far the strongest, and most destructive of the six; has the body of Nagato's best friend Yahiko, acts as the field leader, and is the last one standing, taking on Naruto's eight tails form mano-a-mano.
- The Dragon: Animal Path I --> Animal Path II. Pain's first line of offense, and the one's he values the most after Deva and Naraka Paths. Have the most openly destructive powers after Deva, being capable taijutsu users and the most powerful Beastmasters yet witnessed in series. The original was able to fight Jiriya for some time on a fairly even keel, while the second wrecks half of Konoha with her Bond Creatures and briefly engages Naruto in a one-on-one fight.
- The Brutes: Preta Path and Asura Path. The former's a Fat Bastard with Energy Absorption powers who serves as Pain's main line of defence; the latter's a physically intimidating Hollywood Cyborg with Frickin' Laser Beams that relies on More Dakka and Macross Missile Massacre to overpower individual opponents.
- The Evil Genius: Naraka Path. A Genius Bruiser who's doubles as an interrogater and a souped-up example of The Medic. The most valued after Deva Path as he keeps all the others running.
- The Dark Chick: Human Path. The least valued, and the most easily defeated with Your Soul Is Mine abilities. Generally serves in a support and interrogation role, along with Naraka Path.
- The Sound Four/Five (Evil Counterpart to Team 10, though they only fight two of that teams members, and only Jiroubou fights his direct counterpart, Choji)
- One Piece has a number of these, generally introducing a new set for each new arc, although several sets are recurring enemies. Chronologically, the first example for both groups is the main members of the Buggy Pirates:
- Big Bad - Buggy the Clown
- The Dragon, Evil Genius & Dark Chick - Alvida (Buggy's 'partner' and she's also the smartest of the crew )
- The Brute(s) - Cabaji & Mohji (Both of which used to be Co-Dragons until Alvida came along)
- Team Pet - Richie
- Sixth Ranger & second Evil Genius - Galdino/Mr. 3 (Seems to have joined as of their latest appearance)

- Big Bad and Evil Genius - Captain Kuro
- The Dragon - Jango (Kuro's First Mate)

- The Arlong Pirates:
- Big Bad - Arlong (The Biggest Bad of the East Blue Saga)
- The Dragon - Choo
- Evil Genius - Nezumi (Actually not a core member, but a corrupt Marine used to keep the heat off)
- The Brute - Kuroobi
- Dark Chick - Hatchan (Although he is Arlong's First Mate and Zoro's opponent for the Arc, usual qualificaitons for a Dragon, he is the resident "quirky" villain, and the only one to eventually get redeemed)
- Team Pet - Mohmoo
- Sixth Ranger Traitor - Nami
- The Wapol Pirates (in the 9th Movie):
- Big Bad - Wapol
- The Dragon - Musshuru
- Evil Genius & Dark Chick - Chess

- Team Pet - Robson, a Snow Hippo.

- Evil Genius - Mr. 3
- The Brute(s) - Mr. 4, Miss Merry Christmas and Mr. 5
- Dark Chick(s) - Mr. 2 Bon Kurei, Miss Goldenweek and Miss Valentine

- Mook Lieutenants- Hotori and Kokori, Satori's brothers, and literal Lieutenants of Yama in the Enforcers.

- Sixth Ranger - Nero
- Team Pet(s) - Hattori (Lucci's pet pidgeon) & Funkfreed (Spandam's Elephant sword)

- Evil Genius - Dr. Hogback (An evil doctor.)
- The Brutes - Absalom (A pervert who can turn invisible & orginally The Dragon until Oars came along) & Ryuuma, Hogback's personal Zombie bodyguard.
- Dark Chick - Perona (Elegant Gothic Lolita extrordinaire.)
- One Piece's Staff of Impel Down:
- Big Bad - Warden Magellan
- The Dragon - Vice Warden Hannyabal. Seems like a Ineffectual Sympathetic Villain at first, but when the chips come down....
- Evil Genius - Chief Guard Saldeath, leader of the Blugori
- The Brute - The Four Demon Guards
- Dark Chick - Chief Guard Sadi-Chan, leader of the Demon Guards & Vice Guard Domino
- Sixth Ranger Traitor - Chief Guard Shiliew. Served as a second Dragon at first, but became too uncontrollable, and had to be imprisoned, until Blackbeard recruits him.
- Team Pet - Any animal in Level 2, the Hell of Wild Beasts.
- One Piece's HQ-ranked Marines (primarily during the Marineford arc):
- Big Bad - Fleet Admiral Sengoku, who doubles as a second Evil Genius
- The Dragon - Admiral Akainu, the most ruthless and destructive officer, but also the most effective.
- Evil Genius - Vice Admiral Tsuru, seemingly the highest ranked Vice Admiral, but not much for fighting
- The Brute - Admiral Kizaru, just as formidable as the other admirals but quite a Cloudcuckoolander, and is incredibly destructive.
- The Dark Chick - Admiral Aokiji, generally the most given to following his conscience.
- Sixth Ranger - Vice Admiral Garp & Vice Admiral Momonga, and Vice Admiral Onigumo all three are incredibly powerful.
- Giant Mook(s) & Mook Lieutenant(s) - The Giant Squad Marines and the Vice Admirals respectively.
- One Piece's Imposter Straw Hat Pirates:
- Big Bad - The fake Luffy/Demalo Black, a low-bounty wimp who uses the real Luffy's infamy to bring powerful new recruits into his crew.
- Co-Dragons - The fake Zoro & The fake Sanji, the two with the most seeming authority in the nuclear crew, and the two with any real brains.
- The Brute(s) - The fake Sogeking, the only crewmember that actually has some bravery & muscle on him & The fake Franky.
- Dark Chick(s) - The fake Nami & The fake Robin/Cocoa).
- Sixth Ranger(s) - Albion & Lip Doughty, two former Captains who joined Black's recruitment drive.
- Sixth Ranger Traitor(s) - Cariboo & Coriboo, the other named Captains, and Starscreams, too.

- Big Bad - Hody Jones
- The Dragon - Hyozou, a Mercenary hired by them, and incredibly skilled.
- Evil Genius - Zeo, the most calm and rational member.
- The Brute - Ikaros Much and Dosun
- Dark Chick - Daruma
- And finally (thus far) from One Piece, the Blackbeard Pirates:

- The Evil Genius - Charon

- The Dragon - Domino
- The Evil Genius - James. Meowth also has traits of this, since he's the one building Team Rocket's mecha
- The Brute - Butch
- The Dark Chick - Jessie and Cassidy
- Team Pet - Meowth and Persian
- Real Bout High School
- The Big Bad - G (an orphan who lost everything, from his humanity to his name, being trained to kill by a high-class paranoiac. Don't hit him too hard, or he'll go One-Winged Angel on you.) (Though Aoi Asahina, The Lancer to Ryoko Mitsurugi's Heroine and G's Unlucky Childhood Friend, believes he's still out there...)
- The Dragon - Shizuma Kusanagi (a Hot-Blooded showboat with fiery moves and a serious thing for The Hero Ryoko)
- The Evil Genius - G's Protege (who isn't named in the manga. He is, however, a computer expert with intelligently gimmicked weaponry.)
- The Brute - Taiho Hashiba (a huge boxer with something to prove. Because Defeat Means Friendship, he got together with The Big Guy Megumi Momoi after she beat him.)
- The Reliable Traitor - Daisaku Kamiya (He's Shizuma's only friend, but would gladly betray the living Hell out of him to get to Ryoko.)
- Record of Lodoss War
- The Big Bad - Emperor Beld (Big sword, big hair, big armor, big horse, BIG horde.)
- The Dragon - Ashram (Ambitious, but surprisingly loyal to Beld. Worthy Opponent to Parn.)
- The Evil Genius - Wagnard (Spends most of his time down in the dungeon reading unholy scrpitures and summoning ancient demons.)
- The Brute - Karla (Relies on raw magical force to obliterate her enemies, rather than tome or artifact-derived spells and incantations. Something of a Sixth Ranger Traitor.)
- The Dark Chick - Pirotess (the Dark Elf. Ashram's evil, devoted, very hot and very strong girlfriend. Like Deedlit, relies on elemental magic and familiars. Also, one of the few evil characters with any defensive abilities...)
- The Team Pet - Narse (the gigantic demon dragon. So big and grotesque it almost crosses the line into Eldritch Abomination territory.)
- The Juppongatana from Rurouni Kenshin

- The Dragon: Gein (Blood Knight, Psycho for Hire and Complete Monster. Enishi's right-hand and go-to-guy.)
- The Evil Genius: Otowa Hyoko (Former assassin, dependent on technology to win.)
- The Brute: Inui Banjin (Thuggish, brutal, and stupid) and Kujiranami Hyogo (See previous description, but add a legitimate greivance against Kenshin berserker tendencies and an inability to fall down or give up.)
- The Dark Chick: Yatsume Mumyoi (Venom's Expy, doesn't want anyone to see his face, not a team-player.)
- The Oniwabanshu from Rurouni Kenshin
- Big Bad and Evil Genius - Aoshi

- Team Toguro of Yu Yu Hakusho
- The Big Bad - Sakyo, the owner of Team Toguro, and the mastermind of the Dark Tournament
- The Dragon - Toguro the Younger, the strongest member of Team Toguro, and the singular biggest threat in the entire Tournament. Fear of him forced Yusuke into the Tournament in the first place
- The Evil Genius - Karasu, a bomber-demon on par or better then Kurama in the way of smarts. It took a transformation into the Demon Fox to outfox him
- The Brute - Bui seems like a textbook case: heavy armor, Big Friggin' Axe, and a tendency to not speak. However it turns out that the axe is by no means his best weapon, he is quite the eloquent speaker when he wants, and the armor is actually designed to limit his dangerously strong battle aura
- The Dark Chick - Toguro the Elder, clearly the most unhinged demon on the team, even moreso then the sadistic Karasu. Nearly immortal and capable of twisting his body into any number of truly grotesque mutations
- The Rakuyou Koukou (Luoyang) students from Ikki Tousen

- Light and his allies from Death Note, from near the end of the series.
- The Big Bad and The Evil Genius: Light Yagami
- The Dragon and The Renfield: Teru Mikami
- The Brute/The Starscream: Ryuk (although he's the exact opposite of Dumb Muscle, he's used for tasks normally assigned to less intelligent and more animalistic team members)
- The Dark Chick: Misa Amane and Kiyomi Takada
- Note that, in the first half of the series, Misa acts as The Dragon and Rem as The Brute; however, Light's allies don't form a full Five-Bad Band at this point.
- Aizen's team that he took to Fake Karakura Town forms a good example.
- Another example from Bleach comes from the first movie, Memories of Nobody.
- Big Bad Evil Genius: Ganryu Ryodoji (knowledgeable of the Valley of Screams and how the Blanks work, as well as being the main catalyst for the conflict during the first movie).
- The Dragon: Riyan (seems to be the most loyal member to Ganryu, on top of having the most comparitively dangerous ability - Missiles).
- The Brute(s): Bau and Jai (the two largest and physically imposing members).
- Dark Chick(s): Benin (sole female member) and Mue (most effeminate male).
- Again from Bleach, but from its fourth movie - Hell Chapter.
- Big Bad Sixth Ranger Traitor: Kokutou (betrayed the Five-Man Band and took over as the main villain after Shuren was killed).
- Evil Genius: Shuren, for instigating the conflict.

- The Evil Genius - Shader (although she's also the Perky Female Minion)

- The Dragon: Jeice, Ginyu's second in command.

- The Homunculi from Fullmetal Alchemist (the 2003 anime version)
- Big Bad - Dante
- The Dragon - Envy. The longest serving member of the team, has a personal rivalry with the hero, serves as The Big Bad's last line of physical defence and is the closest to her emotionally, to the point of being the only member of the team who doesn't take orders from Pride. Fights like an Evil Genius by screwing with people's heads.
- Evil Genius - Pride/ King Bradley. Deep-cover agent who masterminds the implementation of the plan, provides troops and battle strategies, and interferes with the heroes' efforts to undermine the Big Bad. Doubles as a second Dragon during the finale.

- The Beastmen from Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.
- The Big Bad: Lordgenome
- The Dragon: Guame ( He was Lordgenome's pet back when he was still a Spiral Warrior, essentually making him an Evil Counterpart to Boota, and Guame can take liberties with talking to Lordgenome that would get one of the other three generals killed where they stood)

- The Brute: Zorin

- Star Driver: The Division Heads of The Order of the Glittering Star
- The Big Bad: Reiji Miyabi/Head (Head of Vanishing Age and in control of most of the Order's Star Drivers. Despite the fact that there is no official leader, he's the closest thing they have.)
- The Dragon: Keito Nichi/Ivrogne (Head of Bouganville, and easily the most level-headed, competent, and down-to-Earth member of the group.)
- The Evil Genius: Midori Okamoto/Professor Green (Head of the Science Guild, which is responsible for all of the research done for the Project.)

- Medusa and her followers in Soul Eater
- The Big Bad- Medusa (of course.)
- The Dragon - Crona, Dark Magical Girl/Boy and Sixth Ranger Traitor. Free (after the former's Heel Face Turn.)
- The Evil Genius - Medusa (again.) With Free Ironically.
- The Brute - Ragnarok then The Mizune Sisters
- The Dark Chick - The unfortunate Eruka Frog, the eccentric Free (who, unlike his compatriots, has no concept of 'subtlety') and the clueless Crona. The group's somewhat of a Quirky Miniboss Squad.
- Team pet: Mizune sisters
- Sixth Ranger Traitor - Crona
- Then Arachne's

- Sixth Ranger Traitor - due to a Conspiracy Redemption, pretty much every other character

- The God Hand from Berserk
- The Big Bad - Void, the eldest member who leads the ceremony that selects new members. A card-carrying Black Cloak whose brain is big.
- The Dragon - Femto/Griffith, It's Personal embodied. The most powerful and most humanoid of the group, and Guts's Arch Nemesis.
- The Evil Genius - Ubik, Mind Rapist and Magnificent Bastard extraordinaire. He even has nerdy glasses.
- The Brute - Conrad. The largest member, he almost never speaks but seems to be the most destructive of the group, unleashing a plague and participating in the Mind Rape of Griffith.
- The Dark Chick - Slan. DUH!
- Eldritch Abomination Behind The Man - The Idea of Evil
- The Five Mazoku Lords from Slayers
- The Big Bad - Hellmaster Fibrizo
- The Dragon - Greater Beast Zelas Metallium
- The Evil Genius - Dynast Grausherra
- The Brute - Chaos Dragon Garv
- The Dark Chick - Deep Sea Dolphin
- The Sinclair owners from Rave Master
- The Big Bad - Lucia, runs everything, a bit of a Dark Chick too. Recognizable by his own unique brand of insanity.
- The Evil Genius - Hardener, he's got a strange past that leads to him easily out-crazying the rest of the Sinclair owners. His final evil plan is rather spectacular
- The Brute - Ogre, a bit of a Genius Bruiser though.
- The Dark Chick - Doryu, a Demon King, he was good until persecution and Sinclair convinced him to abandon the light.
- The Dragon - Ashura. Another Demon King, he doesn't really fit in any of the other spots.
- Can we see Russia, his sisters and the Baltics from Axis Powers Hetalia as a parody of the Five-Bad Band? If it's the case...
- The Big Bad and The Brute: Russia (Psychopathic Manchild version, obviously)
- The Dragon: Lithuania (rather... unwillingly)
- The Evil Genius: Estonia (basically, for being the most stable)
- The Dark Chick: Belarus (who wants to
get MARRIEDMARRIEDMARRIEDbecome The Dragon to Russia's Big Bad), Latvia (Fragile Flower version) - Tag Along Team Mom: Ukraine (who actually wants to "defect" real bad)
- How about the Allies then? Considering that the Axis Powers are the title characters, it's safe to say that they're the Hero Antagonist:
- The Big Bad: America, though he considers himself the hero.
- The Dragon: England (America's snarky reluctant right-hand man).
- The Brute: Russia (by virtue of being the hugest and the insane one).
- The Evil Genius: China (as the oldest nation, he has to be the wisest) or France (argues with England a lot, used to be quite The Strategist).
- The Dark Chick: France (the most suave and flirty of the bunch) or China (for looking like a girl).
- How about the Allies then? Considering that the Axis Powers are the title characters, it's safe to say that they're the Hero Antagonist:
- Does the Band of Seven from Inuyasha count? Sure there's more than five members, but two of them die before we ever see the group together, leaving it at...
- The Bigger Bad: Naraku. He revived the Band of Seven to occupy Inuyasha while he purges his human side and gains power at Mount Hakurei.
- The Big Bad: Bankotsu. He's the leader of the group, fills in for the main villain while he's incapacitated, and is the hero's main rival throughout the season.
- The Dragon: Jakotsu. The most loyal of the group to Banktosu, the second-best fighter, and the only one he counts on.
- The Brute: Ginkotsu. Giant cyborg, barely speaks, fanatically loyal, relies on brute force to win.
- The Evil Genius: Renkotsu. Team Mad Scientist and strategist, reliant on technology.
- The Dark Chick: Suikotsu. Has a split personality and is thus very unreliable.
- The two deceased members were: an extra The Brute (Kyokotsu, the Giant) and another Evil Genius (Muukotsu, the Poison Master).
- Elfen Lied's various henchmen of the Kakuzawa's research facility:
- The Big Bad: Director Kakuzawa
- The Dragon: Kurama
- The Evil Genius: Professor Kakuzawa then Dr. Nousou (Manga)
- The Brute: Bando (mainly reflected in Anime)
- The Dark Chick: Unknown Man (manga) then that man who turned out to be a woman.
- Sixth Ranger: Arakawa
- You could probably make a case for The Big Five during the filler arcs in Yu-Gi-Oh!, based on their positions in the company, their Deck Masters, and how they play.
- The Big Bad: Gansley. Former Senior Vice-President at Kaiba Corp, duels against the show's Hero (who is admittedly more of The Lancer in this arc), and is definitely in charge of the five of them (although outranked by Noah and Gozaburo Kaiba.
- The Dragon: Lector. The best duelist out the five, holding all their best cards, and former assistant to Kaiba. He duels against Kaiba, who is very much The Hero of the arc, and comes extremely close to winning. During the team duel against Yugi and Joey he shows an affinity for actual Dragon cards.
- The Brute: Johnson. Uses Judge Man (a huge monster wielding a hammer) as his Deck Master, and demonstrates very little subtlety in his duel against Joey (his Deck Master ability destroys every card on the field, and boy does he ever abuse it). Also, if you think about it, as the company's chief lawyer, he was always the first one into corporate fights on the company's behalf.
- The Evil Genius: Nesbitt, though he overlaps with The Brute, being obsessed with war. A tech expert, weapons specialist and robotic fanatic.
- The Dark Chick: Crump, though he overlaps with Evil Genius, being a math wiz. Easily the weakest and most ridiculous of the group, considering he uses a penguin deck. He's also the most sympathetic of the five - while the other four were corrupt executives looking for power, Crump was a neglected kid who just wanted to build a penguin theme park.
- We also have Dartz and his group.
- The Big Bad: Dartz, naturally. The leader of the group.
- The Dragon: Rafael, Dartz's top henchman who duels The Hero and beats him.
- The Evil Genius: Alister, uses a machine deck and likes to disguise himself. Also apparently knows how to fly a plane.
- The Brute: Valon, uses an armor deck where he wears his monsters like an exo-suit and attacks the opponent himself with them. His own shown duel is very brutal and violent.
- The Dark Chick: Mai, who did a Face Heel Turn. It is implied that while the other three joined Dartz willingly, Mai was brainwashed from the start.
- In Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, Sartorius forms his band by brainwashing members of Jaden's Five-Man Band. All of them but Ojin were Jaden's friends before their Face Heel Turn.
- The Big Bad: Sartorius, or rather the Eldritch Abomination controlling him.
- The Dragon: Chazz. Sartorius' first conversion and the strongest of Jaden's friends.
- The Brute: Ojin. His entire deck theme is meant to kill the opponent in one turn.
- The Evil Genius: Bastion. The strategic, analytical duelist, though he doesn't get a chance to show it under Sartorius' leadership.
- The Dark Chick: Alexis. Even when brainwashed she retains loyalty to her former dorm and duels to defend the honor of its members.
- The Sixth Ranger Traitor: Aster. Sartorius is his manager and he's loyal to him until he realizes he's controlled by the aforementioned Eldritch Abomination.
- Then in Season 3 of GX, we have Yubel and her/his/its minions.
- The Big Bad: Yubel, the leader and mastermind.
- The Dragon: Marcel, Yubel's host until Yubel gets her/his/its own body.
- The Brute: Mask of Anger.
- The Evil Genius: Mask of Silence.
- The Dark Chick: Mask of Laughter. For all of the Masked Duelists really, the clue is in the name.
- The Sixth Ranger Traitor: Adrian, joins Yubel but later betrays her/him/its and tries to seize power in Yubel's place.
- Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's gives us the Dark Signers.
- The Big Bad: Roman. Leader of the group, founding member, last to be beaten.
- The Dragon: Kalin. First of the group to be fought, Yusei's childhood friend, almost beats him.
- The Dark Chick: Misty. Becomes a Dark Signer under sympathetic circumstances, is redeemed before losing.
- The Evil Genius: Carly, though she overlaps with Dark Chick too. Is redeemed before her death, manipulates Jack's inner feelings and desires to try and provoke a Face Heel Turn.
- The Brute: Devack. Uses an Ape deck, imprisoned Luna's Signer Dragon. When he's defeated he's replaced by Grieger, who duels more strategically but is just as brutal and powerful. The two of them are also physically large.
- The Sixth Ranger Traitor: Rex. Duels Roman and loses on purpose to become a Dark Signer as part of his plan to turn himself into a Yin-Yang Bomb and Take a Third Option.
- And Yliaster from the same.
- Big Bad: Z-ONE. The mastermind with powers on par with a god, he will stop at nothing to prevent the Bad Future he comes from ever coming to pass, even if that means killing millions of people. His deck is based on the glory of angels and God and he is the last to be defeated.
- The Dragon: Aporia. Z-ONE's most fanatical follower because he was the one most broken by the Bad Future, he is the first to be sent out against the heroes (though they don't know it at first) and is given cards to specifically counter their edge. After an encounter with Rua convinces him there must be a third option, he pulls a Heel Face Turn and Z-ONE kills him. He is the third-to-last to be beaten by the heroes and second-to-last to go down permanently.
- The Evil Genius: Antinomy, the group's chief manipulator who has all the best gadgets and uses a high-tech deck. Unlike most Evil Geniuses (who are usually the most-irredeemable of the Five-Bad Band next to the Big Bad), he's not really a bad guy, and ends up Becoming the Mask and giving Yusei tacit hints on defeating Z-ONE. He is third-to-last to be defeated.
- The Brute: Paradox. Probably the most powerful next to Z-ONE (given that he can control time), he's the first to go down, his deck focuses on bringing out big, bad monsters as quick as possible, and his solution for averting the Bad Future involves lots of people dying and Stuff Blowing Up.
- The Dark Chick: Sherry Leblanc. She stands out in that she is the only female, joined the group much later than the others (or would that be earlier?), and is unsure about Z-ONE's goal, having been coerced into helping. She uses a flower deck and is the second to go down.

- The members of Creed's inner circle in Black Cat.
- The Big Bad: Creed himself, flamboyant and sadistic swordmaster, Bad Boss and all around psycho.
- The Dragon: Shiki. He's Creed's field commander, carries Creed's orders to the other Apostles of the Stars, is the most threatening after Creed himself, and must be defeated before Train can battle Creed.
- The Brute: Maro. A sumo-wrestler who controls gravity. Not actually a member of the inner circle, he's obviously the highest ranking of the outsiders, and relays Shiki's orders to them.
- The Evil Genius: The Doctor. He's a Mad Scientist (Evilutionary Biologist version), The Medic, and the single most evil character in the story.
- The Dark Chick: Echidna Parass. The only female member, serves soley because of her crush on Creed, and as a teleporter, is a very different kind of threat from the others.
- The Noah family in D.Gray-man:
- Big Bad: The Millennium Earl
- The Dragon: Tyki Mikk
- The Brute: Skinn Bolic

- The Brute: Bixlow
- Dark Chick: Evergreen
- While their efforts are generally unconjoined and seperate from each other, the employees of Easters innerwards workings can be seen like this until Nikaidou, of all people, makes a heel - face within episode 23.
- Big Bad: Kazumu, until Gozen's existence is revealed within episode 22, although Kazumu still displays more traits of the trope (Aside from the fact that Gozen, for most of the series, never shows any portion of his body (Or his real voice.) towards any - one.) and commands the other operatives and the fact that he's (Albeit probably unintentionally.) partially responsible for Gozen's current condition any - way.
- The Dragon: Kazumu towards Gozen, and perhaps Nikaidou towards Kazumu him - self (While not particularly loyal towards Kazumu, he seems the one most focused upon his "job", and is probably the most apparently "dedicated" towards it. (Ironically, he is the first to heel - face.) He also has a personal vendetta towards all of the Guardians, and, within fact, every being possible with a Heart's Egg: Jealousy due towards the loss of his own as a child, soon before it was about to hatch.)
- The Evil Genius: While not exactly a genius, Nikaidou probably at first fits this role, at least more than the other workers: He devises each plan of his own to capture the Embryo, including, rather than capturing the original Embryo, simply making a new one instead. Still has evil methods, though. He can also build fully operational combat robots, as well as the machinery he uses occassionally for his plans, some - thing which stems from his child - hood dreams to be a robotics programmer. Later upon, Yukari probably takes more of this role, due towards her finding new ways and researching more technologies in order to amplify the corruption powers of Utau's voice. And the fact that Yuu just heel - faced.
- The Dark Chick / The Brute: Utau, who shares the chickish trait of being captured prisoner... Only towards Easter's whims, not the Guardians. This is because the sole reason she works for them is due towards probably - violent threats towards her mother and, more importantly, Ikuto. And when she does find the Embryo, the only reason she'll take it is the desire towards wishing towards her and Ikuto's freedom. She's also the greatest offensive power the corporation have, which confirms her for the latter role, although she usually doesn't take pleasure for it, thus halting her from Brute position. Ikuto would also count, seeing that his Black Lynx Character Transformation form is probably upon par with Utau's Lunatic Charm Character Transformation (Although Dark Jewel may be another story, despite the time limit.) and that he is within partly the same situation, only with threats towards Utau and his mother (The same one as Ikuto's.) instead, but seeing as he's less likely to obey the smaller details of his orders and presented as far less helpless than Utau...
- Friendly Enemy / Token Good Teammate / Enigmatic Minion: Ikuto, towards the point of being a main love interest. He screws around with the workers' (Especially Kazumu's.) plans and helps Amu and the other Guardians whenever he can afford towards, and constantly acts at least uncommunicatively towards any of the employee's aside from Utau, his sister. Hell, Yuu even spies on him at times to be safe. Also becomes somewhat of a Brute when he gets Brainwashed and Crazy later upon.

- Co-Dragons: Rikiya Gaou and Hiromi Kisiragi, described as Hakushuu's Right Hand and Left Hand by Marco, Hiruma, and most commentators. Gaou breaks quarterbacks, runningbacks and linemen, while Kisiragi cripples recievers.
- The Brute: Subverted. Marco clearly has former team ace Tengu slotted for this role, due to his status as their best linebacker, but Tengu pissed off Gaou (which never ends well) and Marco was forced to use himself and Gaou to fill the gap in the defence.
