• The Frightful Four 2099 seen in Fantastic Four 2099UGR not only plays the trope straight, but plays with it as well. For starters, they can't stand being called the Frightful Four (even though that nickname is applied to them), as their goal is to usurp the team name Fantastic Four from the current bearers of that name (four clones of the original FF team). Second, they're all Mad Scientists, so they all share the Evil Genius trope.
  • The Big Bad - Ian "Fantastic" Hyde, whose speed and strength finally match the size of his ego.
  • The Dragon - Jesse "Invisible" Stamp. He starts off as a shy introvert who has difficulty with eye contact. Once he develops the power to edit himself from the perceptions of other people and electronic equipment, his confidence and sadism grow (now that nobody's looking at him). His rivalry with Ian Hyde (especially over the affections of Michaela Bailey) grows as well, to the point that he openly challenges Hyde for leadership.
  • The Dark Chick - Michaela "Thing" Bailey. She shapeshifts different parts of her body into that of different members of the animal kingdom, but her inability to revert to human form causes her to consider herself the Freak of the group. Her relationship with Ian Hyde becomes a focal point of his rivalry with Jesse Stamp.
  • The Evil Genius - Everyone on the team, as they're rogue geneticists who have been dealing under-the-table with organleggers for years. But Ian Hyde is convinced he's far more brilliant than the rest of them.
  • The Brute - Christi "Torch" Wood. This has nothing to do with her physical stature (she's petite), and everything to do with her ability to cause intense agony in the minds of others. She even uses this ability on members of her own team when they annoy her, but for the most part she's content to be a team player.
• The wrestlers in the Battle Royale based 72 Hours fit the idea, though two of them are clearly not actually evil and a third doesn’t even have a personality at all to speak of. Nevertheless, the group as a whole are one of four sets of primary antagonists (the other three each being a single individual acting independantly).
  • Big Bad: Joel, who leaves no question as to who’s in charge.
  • The Dragon: Mike V, well established as Joel’s second in command, and one of few in the class whose sadism rivals Joel's.
  • Dark Chick: Extreme Doormat C.C., who is utterly devoid of personality and only there to be a sexual plaything for Joel
  • The Brute: Poor Shane. Effectively a living brick Joel throws at things that need beaten up, or killed in the case of the Program.
  • Evil Genius / Sixth Ranger Traitor: Bo, who turns out to be Good All Along and eventually joins SABRE.
• Cornova's Poke Wars has a rather interesting Five-Bad Band.
  • Big Bad - Ho-oh: Leader of the genocide against humanity.
  • The Dragon - Raikou: Ho-oh's "Lieutenant" who accompanies him at nearly all times.
  • The Brute - Shadow Lugia: A corrupted Lugia clone who only desires to take the real Lugia's mate and cause as much destruction as possible.
  • The Evil Genius - Uxie: The Being of Knowledge who sees the genocide as an experiment
  • Dark Chick - Mewtwo: An artificial being who first fought against Ho-oh and lost, ending up as little more than a mind controlled puppet.
• The Vizard commanders in An Origami Fish's Vizard Trilogy.
  • Big Bad: Asayama Shiba. Not the leader, but the one driving the majority of the conflict.
  • The Dragon: Ami Shiba, Asayama's daughter and leader of the Vizard-affiliated Arrancar.
  • Evil Genius: Fujiwara Hazen.
  • The Brute: Yuji Shihoin.
  • Dark Chick: Misami Yagami.
  • Sixth Ranger: Takeshi Katano. The actual leader, and the most powerful, but he's rather minor by comparison to the others.

• Though the roles are somewhat difficult to pin down, The Shadowbolts ^{[dead link]} from the My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic bronies.
  • Big Bad: Nightshade, a former Wonderbolt who got impatient for the chance to prove her worth, mucked up badly, and now 'wants to get back at the foals for holding her down'.
  • The Dragon: Stratus, a former Guardspony who was dishonorably discharged for several incidents where he used excessive force. He is NOT your average Pegasus.
  • The Brute: Charger, a street racer with a Street Smart gangster personality and a penchant for loose mares. Also a maker and dealer in poison joke products (a.k.a. narcotics).
  • Evil Genius: Starry Skies, a Mare of Wealth and Taste who is not above using money to solve her problems and wanted to buy her way into the Wonderbolts but got snubbed constantly. Just like Nightshade, she is waiting for a chance at revenge.
  • Dark Chick: Blueball Blitz, a prodigy flyer who can use lightning and fly as fast as lightning but is downright unpredictable.

  • Big Bad: Brox. Without that little bastard, none of the Fourth Movement would have happened.
  • The Dragon: Kerrun. Also kind of a Starscream.
  • Evil Genius: Grunnel. He gave Brox all the dirt on the four.

  • Dark Chick: Bayanis.
• Super Sentai vs. Super Sentai, as it encompassed two fics, features two formations of Five-Man Band taken from various Super Sentai series.
