Godoncourt
Godoncourt is a commune in the Vosges department in Grand Est in northeastern France. Until 1789, Godoncourt was a village of Franche-Comté. It was incorporated in the Vosges territory after 1789. During Thirty Years' War, the village was burned by Bernard de Saxe-Weimar's mercenaries and its burghers were killed. Bound to Jonvelle until mid 18th Century, Godoncourt welcomed the monks who started to found the Sainte Anne Hermiatage in the 12th Century. The last hermits, originarians of the Saint Jean-Baptiste congregation from Besançon, lived in the ermitage until the 1760s. The hermitage became a private property after the sell of the Biens Nationaux.
