Yip Hon Weng
Yip Hon Weng (simplified Chinese: 叶汉荣; traditional Chinese: 葉漢榮; pinyin: Yè Hànróng; born 1977/1978) s a Singaporean politician who has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Yio Chu Kang SMC since July 2020 after being elected in the 2020 Singaporean general election.

Education
Yip Hon Weng graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Science and Mathematics.[1] Yip subsequently read his master's degrees, education at Harvard University, financial engineering at National University of Singapore, knowledge engineering at Nanyang Technological University, and business administration at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.[1]
Career
Early career
After graduating, Yip Hon Weng was a Physical Education and Mathematics teacher at Kent Ridge Secondary School.[1] After two years, Yip held policy-related positions in the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Health.[1] After reading his master's degrees, Yip was roped in to set up the Municipal Services Office, where the OneService app was created.[1]
Politics
Yip Hon Weng was fielded in 2020 Singaporean general election to contest in Yio Chu Kang Single Member Constituency on People's Action Party's ticket against Progress Singapore Party.[2] On 11 July 2020, Yip was declared to be elected to represent Yio Chu Kang SMC in the 14th Parliament of Singapore, garnering 61% of the valid votes.[3]
Personal life
Yip is married and has five children.[4]
