Saint-Cyran's origins lie with a monastic foundation founded by Saint Sigiramnus (Cyran) in the 7th century.[2] The foundation was first known as Saint-Pierre de Longoret (Longoretum, Lonrey) but was later named after its founder.[2] In the 17th century, Jean du Vergier de Hauranne, known as the Abbé de Saint-Cyran, served as abbot of this monastery. He was succeeded by his nephew Martin de Barcos. The monastery was dissolved in 1712.[2]

gollark: I barely actually do esolangs, I'm just here for the community.
gollark: BF-FPGA *when*?
gollark: Which is entirely available outside the US military. Maybe without them doing it it would be delayed a few years or so but the internet would happen. Possibly differently.
gollark: I know. It's a link you would run bits of one over.
gollark: You could as far as I know buy a dedicated telephone line between two points for data purposes last century.
