Oceanic Pro League

The Oceanic Pro League (OPL) is the top level of professional League of Legends competition in Oceania. Founded in 2015 and organized by Riot Games Oceania, the league has eight teams. Matches are live streamed on Twitch and YouTube, the latter having on-demand-video archives for the OPL and the lower division Oceanic Challenger Series (OCS). The winners of OPL Split 1 qualify for the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI), while the winners of Split 2 qualify for the World Championship.

Format

For the 2020 Split 1 & 2, the OPL will resume the following format:

  • Group Stage:
    • All 8 teams play in a group.
      • Avant Gaming
      • Chiefs Esports Club
      • Dire Wolves
      • Gravitas
      • Legacy Esports
      • Mammoth
      • ORDER
      • Pentanet.gg
    • Double Round Robin. All matches are best of 1.
  • Top 5 teams advance to Play-Off Stage.
    • Double elimination bracket.
      • 1st teams in Group Stage will start at Upper Bracket Round 2.
      • 2nd and 3rd teams in Group Stage will start at Upper Bracket Round 1.
      • 4th and 5th teams in Group Stage will start at Lower Bracket Round 1.
    • All matches are best of 5.
