Morningside, North Lanarkshire

Morningside is a small village in North Lanarkshire, Scotland. It is located around 34 mile (1.2 km) south of Newmains, and 2 14 miles (3.6 km) east of Wishaw. Morningside's population (as of 2016) is 1,090 people.[1] It is a former coal mining village, and formerly had two railway stations.[2] Today, Morningside mainly consists of a modern housing estate with more older houses along the main road.

Morningside Primary School is located on School Road, in the north of the village. Built originally in 1874, the school had a roll of 146 in the year of 2010/2011.[3]
