Description

late Early Cretaceous (105 Ma)

The sandstones of the formation were deposited in a fluvial environment. The formation has an estimated thickness of 460 metres (1,510 ft) and overlies the Anita Formation, while it is overlain by the La Irene Formation.[2] These formations are considered Campanian & Maastrichtian in age, respectively,[2][3] making the Cerro Fortaleza Formation aged between them.

The giant titanosaurs Puertasaurus and Dreadnoughtus, the megaraptoran Orkoraptor, Austrocheirus isasii, and the ornithopod Talenkauen have been recovered from the formation alongside turtles and crocodiles.[4]

gollark: I think what they mean is that you introduced a new definition, and the fact that `*` is that can't be derived from anything else.
gollark: Oh, I thought you meant 40 atoms.
gollark: According to contrametaapiologists, that's ridiculous as you can merely summon bees from the void to do work.
gollark: Consume PURE sucrose.
gollark: According to research from osmarks.tk™, it is possible that continuing research into life extension technologies will make death non-inevitable, but quite probably not before current osmarks.tk™ employees succumb.
