Bangladesh Railway Class 6000
Bangladesh Railway Class 6000 (BEA 20) is a class of broad-gauge diesel-electric locomotives owned by Bangladesh Railway.[1] They are the first broad-gauge diesel locomotives and also the only pure ALCo based locomotive of Bangladesh. There exist some locomotives similar to Class 6000 made by MLW, classified as Class 6100. They were the most powerful locomotives of Bangladesh of that time, along with Class 6100, before the arrival of Class 6300 and Class 6400.

Performance
Class 6000 locomotives are one of the most successful locomotives of Bangladesh Railway, performing excellently in hauling both freight and passenger trains. Initially, they were used on most long-distance mail and inter-city trains, though now they are mostly used in local and short-commuter trains.
