Prior to February 2012, Dual traction WCAM 1 or WCAM 2/2P locos would haul the train between Bandra Terminus & Vadodara Junction after which a Vadodara based WAP 4 locomotive would take over until Lucknow Junction handing over to a Gonda based WDM 3A for the remainder of the journey.
Western Railway completed DC Electric Conversion to AC on 5 February 2012 & it is now regularly hauls by a Vadodara based WAP 7 locomotive from end to end.
