1946 Swiss referendums
Two referendums were held in Switzerland during 1946.[1] The first was held on 10 February on a federal resolution on a petition on cargo transportation, and was rejected by voters.[1] The second was held on 8 December on a popular initiative on the "right to work", and was also rejected.[1]

Background
The February referendum on cargo transportation was a mandatory referendum, whilst the December referendum was a popular initiative.[1] Both required a double majority; a majority of the popular vote and majority of the cantons.[2] The decision of each canton was based on the vote in that canton.[2] Full cantons counted as one vote, whilst half cantons counted as half.[2]

gollark: I like figuring out how stuff like this functions.
gollark: I'm annoyed that TJ09 doesn't provide/allow nice detailed analytics data on stuff.
gollark: That sounds exactly like what TJ09 would do.
gollark: They shall pile up forever. I consider myself relatively good at cave hunting, and I have piles of xenowyrms anyway.
gollark: (honestly, I doubt TJ09 bothered to cap the prices)
