Pretty Cure and Allies
Chiyo Hanasaki / Cure Sakura Blossom
- Bare Your Midriff: Her recital outfit incorporates this.
- Bifauxnen: Gives off this vibe during her ballet class's productions.
- Crosscast Role: Gets cast as the lead male in every production put on by Ms. Aika's ballet class by virtue of her being tomboyish.
- Groin Attack: She launches one completely by accident when she trips and falls. Her hand grabs the last thing she ever expected to be on the other ballet class newbie.
- Hot Chick in a Badass Suit: Basically her formalwear, with a pink rose attached to one breast.
- Just Friends: With Rokuro.
- Masculine Girl to Rokuro's Feminine Boy: It helps that she's a tomboy and he gets Dragged Into Drag by circumstances every Saturday.
- Modesty Shorts: Any outfit of hers that incorporates a skirt will utilize this trope, even her kimono from episode 6 and her Cure outfit.
- Nonuniform Uniform: As a tomboy, she's quite prone to this, wearing bike shorts under her school and ballet uniforms. Also concerning her ballet uniform, her skirt is shorter and more frayed-looking than those of her classmates. She also wears something more boyish than what her classmates are wearing during the recital in episode 48.
- Precision F-Strike: "What the hell is that thing under your leotard!?"
- The Rival: To Angie.
- Satsuki Yukino
- She Cleans Up Nicely: Wears a kimono in episode 6.
- Tacky Tuxedo: Wears a pink one for her competition On Ice against Angie.
- Tights Under Shorts: Her recital outfit incorporates this, and as you'd expect from someone like her the shorts don't function as Modesty Shorts here like they usually do when she wears the shorts. Also notable as the only time she has ever worn tights (outside of the Cross Cast Roles she specializes in for class productions, that is).
- Tomboy to Shika's Girly Girl: Also the only tomboy in Ms. Aika's class.
Shika Hashimoto / Cure Fawn
- Every Proper Lady Should Curtsy: At the end of the flashback in episode 29, during the curtain call.
- Fan Service: From episode 29's flashback: glasses + tutu = sheer beauty!
- Girlish Pigtails
- Girly Girl to Chiyo and Ai's Tomboys
- The Glasses Come Off: For the duration of episode 18. Also, as seen during a flashback, her glasses are knocked off as symbolism when the actor playing Von Rothbart pretends to snap her neck during the drama club's dramatization of the Swan Lake ballet.
- Meganekko: And yes, she wears her glasses even when playing Odette in Swan Lake during a flashback.
- Opera Gloves: Part of her formalwear.
- She Cleans Up Nicely: During formal occasions. Also, she looked absolutely beautiful in that Russian-style tutu she wore for a (purely non-ballet, for those wondering) performance of Swan Lake by the drama club.
Ai Kichida / Cure Soaring Skies
- Actor Allusion: From episode 3: "Urusai! Urusai! Urusai!!!"
- Rie Kugimiya
- Skirt Over Slacks: Wears a medium-length tunic over black leggings as her formalwear.
- Tomboy to Shika's Girly Girl
- You Gotta Have Blue Hair
Akemi Hasegawa / Cure Rising Sun
- Red Eyes, Take Warning Averted
- Skirt Over Slacks: Her formalwear is similar to Ai's, but with jeggings instead of black leggings.
Hideko Okada / Cure Koi
- Eyes of Gold: As Cure Koi.
- Nonuniform Uniform: Wears the tights and Mary Janes from her regular uniform with the male uniform on the school's annual crossdressing day.
- Opera Gloves: As Cure Koi. Also part of her formalwear.
- Rapunzel Hair: As Cure Koi.
- White-Haired Pretty Girl: As Cure Koi.
- Yamato Nadeshiko
Cure Surf
Princess Entai
Prince Sanjo
Firestrikers
Vesuvius
Galviston
Quake
Tambora
Fam and Ine
Others
Shinji Hashimoto
- Kappei Yamaguchi
- The Stoner: OK, he doesn't do drugs at all, but given his personality he may as well be this.
Azumi Yamato
Daisuke Shimizu
- Cross-Dressing Voices: Mayo Suzukaze in the Japanese version and Emma Watson in the English dub.
- Meganekko: Somewhat; he's actually quite manly, but the fact that his voice actors in both the Japanese and English versions are Cross-Dressing Voices is what puts him here.
- Nonuniform Uniform: Wears shorts with his uniform in lieu of a skirt on the school's annual crossdressing day. Conversely, he still wears the white socks and Mary Janes typical of the female uniform.
- Tall, Dark and Handsome: In the English dub, he's even voiced by someone who's Tall, Dark and Bishoujo in Real Life. Coincidentally, both actually have dirty blonde hair. They also somewhat look like each other.
Angie Fujioka
- Alpha Bitch
- But Not Too Foreign
- Name's the Same: Invoked when Chiyo departs for San Diego Comic-Con dressed as Haruhi Fujioka:
Angie: Stealing my surname, are we, Hanasaki?
- Phenotype Stereotype
- The Rival: To Chiyo.
- Witch with a Capital B: Gets labelled as this after her first scene in episode 1.
Izumi Fukui
Akane Yamada
Rokuro Aizawa
- Crosscast Role: Much to his astonishment, he's another target of this even though he's The One Guy.
- Cross-Dressing Voices: Surprisingly averted, given his situation.
- Dragged Into Drag: However, as the series goes on, he becomes more willing to wear the girls' ballet uniform, as evidenced by all signs of embarrassment gone by the time of the recital, where he accepts and even embraces the fact that his outfit includes a tutu, to the point where, besides the complete overhaul on Chiyo's recital outfit, the only modification to anyone's recital outfit is in the form of the bike shorts Mariya pairs with hers.
- Dressed in Layers: Starting with his second class, he wears his leotard, skirt, and stockings under his school uniform so he won't have to bother going into the changing room before and after ballet class.
- Dropped A Bridget On Her: See Groin Attack below.
- Groin Attack: When Chiyo accidentally grabs his "magic stick" after their first class under Ms. Aika, it's not even close to hard enough to castrate him, but it's hard enough not only for him to feel it but also for Chiyo to find out he's actually a boy.
- Feminine Boy to Chiyo's Masculine Girl: He's probably the manliest pink boy out there, with his only lapses into femininity coming when he has to wear a leotard to ballet class (and, by extension, when he performs in the class's productions and the ballet recital), as well as on Princess Day and the school's annual crossdressing day.
- Meganekko: Wears glasses with all his outfits, including his ballet uniform, his princess gown, and his recital outfit. The only exception is when Ms. Aika's class puts on productions of pre-existing ballets, though he still wears glasses up until and including the final dress rehearsal for each production.
- The One Guy: During ballet class.
- Pimped-Out Dress: Wears a blue one in episode 44 for Princess Day. Also, his ballet uniform's skirt has a frilly hem.
- Pink Is for Sissies: Why he drafted Chiyo to design his dress for Princess Day.
Chiyo: Lots of princesses are out there that don't wear pink. With luck, you could be among them.
Rokuro: [sigh] All right. I'll participate. But you're going to design my dress so as to make doubly sure I don't wear pink for such a girly event.
- Real Men Wear Pink: Although neither his ballet uniform nor his princess gown include pink, blue was considered a feminine color until fairly recently.
- Wholesome Crossdresser
Suzu Yamaguchi
- Crazy Prepared: She carries two swords behind her back in case there's a zombie outbreak.
- Fan Girl: Of College of the Dead.
- Just Friends: With Rokuro.
- Pimped Out Skirt: The skirt on her ballet uniform has a frilly hem.
Jenny Cranston
- Fan Girl: Of College of the Dead.
- Pimped Out Skirt: The skirt on her ballet uniform has a frilly hem.
Mariya Hirakawa
- Modesty Shorts: Any time she wears a skirt, she wears bike shorts underneath. She wears the shorts over her leotard for both her ballet uniform and her recital outfit.
- Nonuniform Uniform: Aside from Chiyo, she's the only ballet student to wear even a variation on her recital outfit (in her case, Modesty Shorts) for the recital in episode 48. Also, the skirt on her ballet uniform doesn't have frills at the edge for some reason.
- Yamato Nadeshiko: And one of the few, if not the only one, to regularly wear bike shorts under her skirt.
- Yūko Gotō
