This is simply what you think is the (not some of the, the) best example of any trope (an objective trope, not subjective, since this already is subjective). The "Crowning Example" if you will.

There could be several reasons you think an example is the best.

• You thinks it's the best in terms of illustrating the trope.
• You think it's the most well done.

  • Probably not quite my pick in terms of "raw pretty," but Bethesda Softworks managed to take the city of Washington, D.C., shower it in nuclear bombs, and still make it oddly beautiful, all the while fully subverting the Real Is Brown effect exhibited by not quite half of the other areas in the game.   • Mass Effect 2. Look out the window and admire the futuristic elegance of Illium or the filthy, gritty beauty of Omega, and you'll be too distracted by the scenery to focus on the mission. This game manages to make each place seem much bigger than it is and perfectly evokes the atmosphere of every location, from the ship junkyard Korlus to the prison ship Purgatory.

This is worse than the disaster the heroes are trying to prevent, but the gameplay mechanics mean it just can't kill the characters, and can even miss - so he gets another go at destroying the Solar System all over again later.

In a game based on melee combos and grapples, this T-1000 with breasts can hit you from across the screen with a lightning-fast, unblockable attack that knocks off about half your life bar. And that's just one move in her frustratingly broken arsenal. The trick seems to be that she becomes mysteriously incompetent in one battle out of every twenty; you just have to wait until it happens.
