Before Eurovision

Festival da Canção 2007

Portugal selected their entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 through the 2007 edition of "Festival da Canção". Composers were contacted to write one song each, although the identities of the performers of the songs were to be decided by the composers.[1]

The final was held on 10 March 2007 at Pavilhão Atlantico in Lisbon, hosted by Isabel Angelino and Jorge Gabriel. This edition had 100% televoting instead of the previous year's 50%-50% mix with a jury. The winner was Sabrina with the song "Dança comigo".

At Eurovision

Because Portugal failed to qualify in 2006 Sabrina was forced to compete in the Eurovision semi-final of the 2007 Contest on 10 May 2007 performing 17th, following Czech Republic and preceding the Macedonia she came 11th with 88 points failed to qualify by 3 points.
