On May 27, 2020. It was announced the station was to be acquired by Loud Media [2] On June 26, 2020 Loud Media took over the signal which is currently stunting playing 60s-80s music with a pending launch of a new format.

At midnight on June 29, 2020 the station launched as Q104.9 with the tag line "Tennessee’s Throwback Country".[3]

History

WTNQ was initially licensed as WQLA on August 2, 1982. It changed its callsign to WQLA-FM on November 1, 1991 & once more to the current WTNQ on May 16, 2008.[4]
