Real NZ Party

The Real NZ Party (formerly New NZ Party) is an unregistered political party in New Zealand. The party is nationalist and socially conservative, opposing "open borders, interference by the UN, Government excess, waste and interference, far left and right ideologies, the PC brigade, tyranny by minorities, unlawful religious beliefs and terrorism".[2] The party has used the slogan "Where We Go One, We Go All" (WWG1WGA),[3] also used by the QAnon conspiracy theory.

The party was founded by former New Conservative board member David Moffett, and is led by former United Future New Zealand MP Marc Alexander.[4]

In an article in The Spinoff on the "crowded field" of Christian Conservative parties in New Zealand, staff writer Alex Braae described the New NZ Party as "a vehicle for David Moffett which is at this stage is unregistered, and mainly appears to consist of aggressive social media posting."[5]

In March 2020, the New Zealand Outdoors Party announced that it had joined forces with the Real NZ Party, and that David Moffett had become a Board member for the Outdoors Party and was now its Executive Director.[6] In a press release, Moffett said "it became apparent that the Real NZ Party was not going to reach the 500 member threshold to form a party" and so the party talked with the Outdoors Party.[7]

The party did not apply for a broadcasting allocation for the 2020 election.[8] It later endorsed the New Zealand Public Party.[3]
