Intrasporangiaceae

Intrasporangiaceae is an Actinomycete family that is paraphyletic with respect to the families Dermatophilaceae and Dermacoccaceae, i.e. the families Dermatophilaceae and Dermacoccaceae are nested within the clade Intrasporangiaceae. The family is named after the type genus Intrasporangium. The type species of Intrasporangium (I. calvum) forms endospores; however, most other species in this family do not form spores, including other members of the genus Intrasporangium.
