One of the important roles of the Home Affairs Bureau is to enhance liaison and communication with all sectors of the community including the Legislative Council and the general public.
Caspar Tsui has been the Secretary for Home Affairs since 2020. Cherry Tse is the Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs since 2014.

Home Affairs is responsible for policies such as:

- District, Community and Public Relations
- Recreation, Sport and Entertainment Licensing
