Forget, Saskatchewan

Forget /ˈfɔːrʒ/[5] (2016 population: 55) is a village in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan within the Rural Municipality of Tecumseh No. 65 and Census Division No. 1.

The village is named in honour of Amédée E. Forget, the first Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan.

As Forget is a French name, the village is pronounced more like 'For-jay' rather than the English word forget.

History

Forget incorporated as a village on November 21, 1904.[6]

In the 2016 Census of Population conducted by Statistics Canada, the Village of Forget recorded a population of 55 living in 23 of its 24 total private dwellings, a 36.4% change from its 2011 population of 35. With a land area of 1.39 km2 (0.54 sq mi), it had a population density of 39.6/km2 (102.5/sq mi) in 2016.[9]

In the 2011 Census of Population, the Village of Forget recorded a population of 35, a -12.5% change from its 2006 population of 40. With a land area of 1.39 km2 (0.54 sq mi), it had a population density of 25.2/km2 (65.2/sq mi) in 2011.[10]
