Location

In order to settle the influx of migrants from Konya in 1936, a new district of Diyarbakir was established. It is a South-Eastern Anatolia region of Turkey and is located to the east of the Diyarbakir province. The area of this district is 1748 km2. Geographically it is situated 550 meters above the sea level. The town features numerous parks. On the Körtik hill exists an archeological site.[5]

Politics

In the elections on the 31 March 2019 Orhan Ayaz from the Peoples' Democratic Party was elected as Mayor.[6] But in October he got dismissed due to an investigation.[7] A trustee was appointed instead.[8]

Notable people

gollark: I can't initiate guessing. We haven't done the submissions.
gollark: I suppose that means you can get away with ones which are very rarely lossy.
gollark: Losslessness will be tested by randomly generating a lot of inputs and compressing and decompressing them, probably.
gollark: But that sounds like a few cryoapioforms in many ways.
gollark: Well, I could make the challenge be to make your own compression algorithm, with the constraints that there must be some inputs which it makes shorter and it must always be lossless.
