Premise

The story follows the lives of Azaan Akhtar Mirza, Shayra Sayyed and Noor Qureshi as they are bound by a marriage due to misunderstandings and fate.

Plot

Razia Begum, also known as Bahu Begum is the matriarch of the ruling family of Bhopal. 6 years have been passed that her son Azaan Akhtar Mirza moved to London for pursuing studies. As he is returning, Razia plans his marriage with his childhood best friend Noor Hassan Qureshi, whose mother Yasmin is also Razia's friend, but when Azaan returns, he introduces his own love Shayra Sayyed to Razia.

Razia accepts Shayra and announces their marriage, while Noor gets engaged to her college friend Faiz Hussain. Slowly, Noor and Shayra become friends. Hoping to take over the family property and money, Asgar and Suraiya try to create misunderstandings between them.

Yasmin, who now addresses Shayra as her own daughter requests her to care for Noor when she is no more, which is accepted by Shayra. The marriage of Azaan-Shayra and Noor-Faiz is locked on a same day. As Azaan and Shayra marry first, Yasmin and Faiz get trapped in the kitchen locked by Suraiya which blasts. Admitted to the hospital, they die.

Shattered on seeing their deaths, Noor holds Shayra to be their murderer and gets her arrested as she was the last person seen leaving the kitchen. Later, Noor blackmails Shayra telling that, as she has promised to the late Yasmin for her happiness, so now her real intention is marrying Azaan. She asks Shayra to divorce Azaan, so that she can marry him.

For Shayra's sake, Azaan marries Noor but refuses to divorce Shayra. With Suraiya and Asgar's help, Noor tries to cause misunderstandings between Azaan and Shayra, but fails. Later, she realises her mistake, apologizes and divorces Azaan. Ghazala arrives, wanting revenge from Razia and hoping to snatch the title of Bahu Begum. She plots against the family with Suraiya and Asgar but is later thrown out of the house along with them as the truth of all of them is revealed.

Then enters Adil who installs a chip in Azaan's mouth and blackmails Shayra to make it look like that she has an affair with him. Due to this, Shayra is thrown out by the Mirzas and Adil kidnaps her. In order to make Shayra jealous, Azaan announces his marriage with Noor. But as Noor was sure that Shayra can never betray them, she decides to meet Adil and tries to make Azaan realize Adil's plan but fails and gets misunderstood.

Shayra escapes from Adil's captivity and accidentally hits Azaan with a vase due to which the chip comes out and blast happens. Adil forces Shayra to give her statement against Noor. Shayra is revealed to be pregnant and Adil sends the reports. Noor understands it and goes to Adil's house with a gun to rescue Shayra. Adil makes Shayra wear his jacket and tricks Noor into shooting her. Instead, Noor shoots the chandelier and asks Shayra to leave. However, Adil hits her with his car leading Shayra to fall into the valley, miscarrying and die.

Five years later

An auction is happening in Begum Mahal. Noor, shown to be rich, buys it. Azaan has lost all of the property, doesn't believe that Shayra has died and leads a miserable life. Adil has taken loans on that properties. Noor is trying to bring back Azaan in his previous lives. Razia wakes up from coma.

Noor succeeds in making Azaan believe that Shayra is dead and apologizes for being unsuccessful in saving Shayra. Azaan decides to start a new life and proposes to Noor for marriage, to which she accepts and they embrace. In the epilogue, Shayra is revealed to be alive and returns just the.

Speaking about his character, Taneja said, " It’s a very layered character. He is a nice innocent boy who is a nawab. He has that aura and personality. He has come home after studying in London and knows it’s his responsibility to serve the city. Azaan is young, fun-loving but has a slight anger issue."[6]

In October 2019, Mohammed Nazim quit due to his mother's illness.[7]
