Alexander Dulerayn

Alexander Dulerayn (Russian: Алекса́ндр Гео́ргиевич Дулера́йн) (born August 21, 1966, Grozny) is a Russian producer, director and script writer, general producer of TNT TV channel (from 2013 to 2017), from 2018 to present –creative producer of the TNT TV channel, Chief Content Officer of Storyworld Entertainment (from 2017).

Biography

Alexander Dulerayn was born on August 21, 1966, in Grozny, USSR. In 1989, he earned a degree in physics engineering from the National Research University of Electronic Technology (MIET). In 1995, he graduated from Boris Yukhananov's Studio of Individual Direction with major in stage and screen direction.

Professional career

Since 1991, as a producer, script writer and director, he has shot a number independent short-length films which later premiered and received awards at movie festivals in Frankfurt, Berlin, Cottbus, Munich, Hamburg, Kassel, Edinburgh, Prague, Madrid, Graz, St. Paulo, Kiev, St. Petersburg and Moscow.

In 1991, his short-length film 'Dachniki' (lit.: Summer Residents) won first prize at the International Festival of Short Films in Hamburg.

In 1993, Dulerayn short-length movie 'Desire to Watch a Film by Rainer Werner Fassbinder' received a special prize from New York Film Academy.

He was a participant of Parallel Cinema, an underground movement in the Soviet and Post-Soviet filmmaking, which positioned itself against the canons of the official art and independent films.

Alexander Dulerayn was a co-creators of 'CINE PHANTOM CLUB'. [1] [2] Also in 1995, his short-length film 'The Youth of the Design Engineer' (co-authored with Dmitry Troitsky) was awarded 2nd prize at the Exotica Festival in St. Petersburg and participated in 'New York Film Archives' and the 'Russian Film Festival' in New York as part of the 'CINE PHANTOM' program.

In 1998, he started out on television as a copywriter on STS TV Channel.

In 1999, he assumed the duties of the executive producer of the broadcast promotion at STS. He is the author of the corporate slogan "First Entertainment Television".

In 2000, he became marketing director at STS.

Since 2002, he has been the Deputy General Director, Marketing Director, at the TNT TV channel. In 2002, co-authored by Sergey Koryagin, he released the first full-length feature film 'Ivan-Durak' later shown at the Moscow International Film Festival and the festivals in Rotterdam and Cairo.

In 2005, his short-length film 'Offshore Reserves' (in co-authored by Jamie Bradshaw) was bought by ARTE, nominated for the Best Film at the International Short Film Festival Oberhausen, and shown at the international movie festival in Salento, at festivals in Warsaw (Poland), Leeds (UK) and Nashville (USA, 2006).

Between 2008 and 2016, Dulerayn produced and created promotional campaigns for full-length films, such as 'The Best Movie' (box office gross of RUB 400 mln over the first weekend, at the time a record-high figure for Russian film distribution),[3] 'Our Russia. The Balls of Fate' (over RUB 375 mln)[4] and 'The Groom' (RUB 194 mln over the first weekend).[5]

In 2012, he directed (co-authored by Jamie Bradshaw), the RussianUSA sci-fi film 'BRANDED aka Moscow 2017' starring Ed Stoppard, Jeffrey Tambor, Max von Sydow and Leelee Sobieski. Roadside Attractions released the movie for the general public in the USA.

From 2013 to 2017, he was General Producer at TNT. Alexander Dulerayn is one of the producers of the most successful products on TNT, comedy and drama series popular in Russia - 'Our Russia', 'The Probation', 'Gym Coach' ('Fizruk'), 'Olga', 'Infidelity', 'The Island', 'Chernobyl: Exclusion Zone' and dozens of other projects.

In 2017, the TNT audience exceeded 124 mln people. The channel was an absolute leader for the 14-44 audience for 6 years in a row and the leader for the 18-30 young audience for 7 years.[6] In 2016-2017, TNT owned 7 out of the 10 series topping search queries on the Russian Internet.[7]

In 2017, Roman Petrenko and Alexander Dulerayn started developing TNT's international domain in Storyworld Entertainment to produce English-language content for the global audience based on books, scripts and series from Russia.

Alexander Dulerayn teaches 'Producing TV Series' in Boris Yukhananov's Studio of Individual Direction (Moscow).

Alexander Dulerayn has earned multiple professional awards in cinema and TV. During his stint with TNT, the channel has won 40 prizes (including 15 first prizes) from Promax BDA Promotion, Marketing & Design Awards in London, Berlin, New York and Moscow.

Projects with his involvement have received 10 TEFI awards (top Russian national TV award for the highest achievements in the TV arts).

His projects have also won awards from the Association of Cinema and TV Producers, MEDIABRAND and Master of Brandbuilding awards, to name just a few.

gollark: If you buy a share in yourself the price goes up. You can then buy further shares at the higher price, then sell them all at once so they all go for that high price. 2% is taken as bank fees if you have debt, but your net worth still goes up.
