The quarter-finals stage featured one the strongest fields ever for a Home Nations event, with 6 of the 8 players being ranked inside the top eight in the world.[3]

Shaun Murphy won the event, with a 9–1 win over Kyren Wilson in the final.[4][5]

There were a total of 77 century breaks at the event. Wilson made the highest, a maximum - the second of his career - in the first frame of his first-round match with Jackson Page.

This was the last tournament that former professional snooker player Willie Thorne commentated on prior to his death on 17th June 2020.

gollark: Yes.
gollark: <@102038103463567360> I think I would go with Bezoi.
gollark: Of course it needs multiple Jeff Bezoi. I really don't see why anyone would be against the idea.
gollark: I'd like to just entirely drop os.loadAPI in potatOS, since it makes for a ton of flaky potatoBIOS code, but I think shell would break.
gollark: Or go to great lengths to virtualize environments/FSes exactly as programs want them using YAFSS or something.
