1998–99 FIS Alpine Ski World Cup

The 33rd World Cup season began in October 1998 in Sölden, Austria, and concluded at the World Cup finals at Sierra Nevada, Spain, in March 1999. The overall winners were Lasse Kjus of Norway, his second, and Alexandra Meissnitzer of Austria, her first.

A break in the schedule was for the 1999 World Championships, held in Vail and Beaver Creek, Colorado, US, from February 2–14, 1999.

Two-time (and defending) World Cup overall winner Katja Seizinger from Germany missed the entire season due to a severe knee injury suffered in June 1998 and then retired in April 1999 at just 26 years old, having already won 11 season titles (2 overall, 4 downhill, 5 Super G).
