Slad was a Hammerhead Goblin in the elite Hammerhead phalanx of the army of General Tytugg. His sword was called "Cleave-in-Twain".[1]

Role in the Edge Chronicles

Slad grew up in the Deepwoods, where life was exciting. His comrade was Dunkrigg, and Dunkrigg saved his life at the Great Shryke Slaughter. In Undertown, life was more tedious, until Vox Verlix tipped off the army that the librarians could be ended at the time of the eleventh hour in the Great Storm Chamber Library in the Sewers beneath Undertown. Slad, as the front rank of the guard, had the honour of going first into the sewers.[2]. As the Librarians had planned, the goblins encountered no guardians except Alquix Venvax, but instead a battle-flock of shrykes on the Blackwood Bridge. Slad and Sister Slashtalon met in the middle of the bridge and killed each other. Only then did the rock demons attack both shrykes and goblins.[1]
