Background

Unlike the original Nintendo Switch, the Switch Lite is a pure handheld gaming console and cannot be docked or connected to a television. It also does not have removable Joy-Cons. Those sacrifices, however, come with the benefit of a much lower price point: $199, compared to $299.

While the Switch Lite’s integrated controls cannot detach—, the detachable Joy-Con controllers designed for the original Switch can still pair with the Switch Lite.

The most often replaced Nintendo Switch Lite parts include the joystick, battery, screen, and USB-C port.

Identification

The Switch Lite is smaller and lighter than its predecessor, with a slightly smaller display, no kickstand, and no detachable Joy-Cons. It also comes in a small variety of unique color options: yellow, grey, and turquoise.
