Background and Identification
Floor maintenance is a wide definition for any type of machine that polishes, cleans, or otherwise alters a floor surface. This can be done for cleaning, or to remove layers of a floor for refinishing or other operations. Mechanized floor cleaners eliminate the need for manual floor scrubbing, which is both difficult and inexact. Automatic floor cleaners, however, will give a highly consistent cleaning, and pushing the machine along as it cleans is much easier than scrubbing the floor yourself. Many of these machines are rotary, which means that they use a spinning disk with an abrasive or padded side to polish or otherwise clean a floor.
