Background and Identification
The Bon Tool model 14-458 is a 100-pound 5-1/4-inch diameter linoleum roller. This linoleum roller is designed for use when installing linoleum, VCT, carpet, sheet vinyl, cork underlayment, and other floor coverings. Its segmented design is meant to provide maximum transfer of adhesive. It also includes an adjustable handle for more comfortable use.
The model 14-458 linoleum roller is made from solid steel for durability. It features a smooth surface and rounded corners to protect building materials. All linoleum rollers float independently on the axle to compensate for inconsistencies. The roller’s yoke and handle are painted a medium blue color to prevent rusting. The model 14-458 linoleum roller also includes an optional transporter with two black wheels that help with maneuverability. The roller can be used with or without the wheels (also called a transporter).
To install linoleum flooring with this linoleum roller, old flooring must be removed and the floor must be level. Clean all debris from the sub-floor, mop it, and allow it to dry. Use a floor leveling compound, if necessary. Tiles should be dry-fit before adhering them. After placing and adhering the new flooring to the subfloor, roll over the flooring with a linoleum roller before the adhesive dries.
