Background and Identification

The Pearl Abrasive model HEX17CBDCLT is a concrete surfacing tool produced by Pearl Abrasive. It is designed to remove thick, crystallized or rough mastics, glue, adhesives, thin-set epoxies, and paint from interior concrete. The HEX17CBDCLT model mounts on floor polishers or maintainers. The surfacing tool does not need any chemicals to work and includes carbide Hexpin attachments. The HEX17CBDCLT model can be used with standard Hexpin Plates or Hexpin Blocks, which are interchangeable.

The model HEX17CBDCLT concrete surfacing tool features a “Super Clutch” that is designed to protect the operator if the plate hits an obstruction by automatically resetting. It includes twelve carbide chips that scrape away layers of thin-set, mastics, glue, rubber or foam-backed carpet residue, dirt build-up, ice, and paint. It is designed for applications where abrasive grains are more effective than customary scraping methods.

The model HEX17CBDCLT concrete surfacing tool is a 15-inch diameter abrasive tool with twelve abrasive teeth. The tool includes embossed words in the center of the disk including the name “Pearl Hexpin Turbo” in capital letters at the top of the circle, and the name “Pearl Abrasive Co.” at the bottom of the circle. The Hexpin assembly includes a rod-shaped piece with a specialized bolt and a square piece. The assembly is designed to attach the surfacing tool to floor polishers or maintainers.
