Background and Identification
The Vulcan SDS-MAX model 700 is a 6-inch floor scraper that is compatible with SDS-MAX demolition hammers. The scraper includes a notched shank which enables secure retention in the chuck. It has a replaceable 6-inch wide blade to remove 6-inch swaths of material. The scraper is designed for tile removal, carpet adhesive removal, and other industrial floor applications.
The Vulcan SDS-MAX model 700 is shot-peened for additional strength and hardness. It is also clear-coated to enhance the product’s quality. The tool includes four nuts, four bolts, four washers, and one hold-down plate. A replacement blade (model 202586034) and hold-down plate (model 202586049) are available for separate purchase.
The tool’s shank has a diameter of 3/4 inches. The scraper can be attached to demolition hammers like the Makita AVT Demolition Hammer model HM1214C. Before installing the bit, it should be cleaned and greased. Then, insert the bit into the tool and turn the bit while pushing it in until it engages. If the bit cannot be pushed in, remove the bit and pull the releasing cover down a few times. Insert the bit again and turn the bit while pushing it in until it engages.
