Choosing your Race
Choosing a race is a difficult task, considering the number of races on the Moon. Be careful and thoughtful in your choice, since it affects the rest of your game.
Level Adjustments
Level adjustments are common, and having them is usually fine, though players should discuss playing a race with an LA should be discussed with the DM beforehand. Level adjustments can be reduced as set forth in the variant rule in the Unearthed Arcana
