These are the precious Zanpakuto Spirits within the blades of all the Soul Reapers in the series, be they of original characters or canon characters.

Eien Tamashi

Lelouch's Zanpakuto spirit. She wears a red Zero outfit and has red hair. She is described as having CC's physique and voice, Shirley's eye color and Kallen's hair color.

• Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: Her Bankai lets her summon a giant creature from out of the ground or whatever she happens to be standing on. Over land it's a giant nightmarish fiend. Over water it's a Leviathan. Who knows what it might do out of lava or in the air.
• Deadpan Snarker
• Evil Genius: Of Muramasa's Five-Bad Band.
  • Subverted. She's only acting the part on Lelouch's behalf.
• Flanderization: Originally had one or two comments where she leaned on the fourth wall, now its become a trait of hers and she sometimes blatantly breaks it.
• Medium Awareness: Whether it's indirectly winking at the readers or blatantantly commenting on the narration itself. Eien Tamashi seems to understand the medium she is in to a degree.
• OOC Is Serious Business: When Lelouch notices how faint her reiatsu is and when she doesn’t comment on something he said, he realizes there’s a problem.
• Screw Yourself: Averted. She does not see this as an option between her and Lelouch.
• Suspiciously Similar Substitute: To CC.

Zangetsu

Ichigo Kurosaki's Zanpakuto spirit, or more technically, his Shikai.

• The Dragon: To Muramasa. Possibly an act because he wants to challenge Ichigo.
  • Confirmed as of ch 101 see below
• Mighty Glacier
• Stealth Mentor: His whole betrayal of Ichigo in the Reapers and Heralds arc was to get him to cease being afraid of his hollow powers.

Tensa Zangetsu

Ichigo Kurosaki's alternate Zanpakuto spirit, more specifically, his Bankai.

• Continuity Nod: Perhaps in a way that makes his manifestation all the more understandable. The author has made distinction between Zangetsu and T. Zangetsu and only T. Zangetsu is the one with the man-crush on his master and strutting around the Undying Loyalty.
• Fragile Speedster: As the original Zangetsu is power based, Tensa is speed based.
• Undying Loyalty: To Ichigo. His greatest desire? The same as his master, Protection.

Ryujin Jakka

Head Captain Yamamoto's Zanpakuto spirit

• Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: Ryujin Jakka’s true form has it bigger than the cavern it was materialized it. It's about the size of Sokyoku hill from head to the base of the neck to the base of its tail.
• Chaotic Neutral: Its single desire upon being freed is to burn everything
  • Thankfully Eien Tamshi subverts this right away to make him Lawful Evil only for Lelouch to go and make him Lawful Good again
• Instant Awesome, Just Add Dragons: It’s true form is a gigantic dragon
• Up to Eleven: Ryujin Jakka is stated in-universe to be stronger than Fumetsu Seishin no Senso and Minazuki put together.

Gonryomaru

Chojiro Sasakibe's Zanpakuto spirit

Yaju Kokuo

Stefan Lusca's Zanpakuto spirit. Is described as being very bestial. He is covered in dark brown fur and stands hunched over. He has a back like a hedgehog and the head of a bull dog with the fangs of a piranha. He has four-fingered hands and three-fingered toes. His tail is decidedly rat-like and his eyes are yellower than gold itself. He wears shredded brown slacks and nothing else.

Akuma Ansatsu

Kendra Otamachi's Zanpakuto Spirit. Wears a hood on his head with his Face Framed in Shadow. His left hand has claws sticking out of the leather gloves he wears on both hands. His entire body was covered by a leather suit and he wears at least five belts around his legs, tightening his pants to his body.

Tetsuryu

Yosei Samakura's Zanpakuto spirit. Is a humanoid dragon with iron colored skin.

• Meaningful Name: Lampshaded by Shinso as he looks exactly as his namesake (Iron Dragon) dictates.

Akki Satsugai

Yolanda Bermuta's Zanpakuto spirit. Has orange braided hair and green eyes. Wears a brown beret and a brown shoulderless battle dress with a breast guard over it despite not really needing one Pettanko. She also wears thigh high black socks and blue rubber ankle-high boots.

Yukan'na Kaze

Naomi Libra's Zanpakuto spirit. Wears the Onmitsukido robes, but they are jade in color. He wears a scarf around his face and is blonde.

Kaze no Irokoe

Hisana's Zanpakuto spirit. She has long, navy blue hair with a widow’s peak and pointy elf-like ears. She wears long green parachute pants with white pinstripes and a grape purple, sleeveless shirt that hug tightly to her skin, which is tan in complexion. She has two, large, raven colored wings on her back and wears two yellow bracelets on each of her wrists. Her finger nails are each a different color: her pinky is green, her ring finger is red, her middle finger is blue, her index finger is orange and her thumb is lavender. She has Pea-green eyes.

Retsu Unohana's Zanpakuto spirit

• Ambiguous Gender: Right up until Unohana calls her A bad girl
  • that thing’s a chick?
• Eyes Always Shut: Takes a little bit of Fridge Brilliance to realize, but we don’t see Minazuki's eyes in the anime. In the fic the author mentions specifically that they open. And they’re red.
• Names to Run Away From Really Fast: It's Bankai form is called Minazuki Zenmetsu which means Purify the Flesh by Total Eradication.
• Red Eyes, Take Warning: Combined with Glowing Eyes of Doom
• The Dark Chick: Of Muramasa’s Five-Bad Band
• * The Silent Bob: Evenmore so than Vera. Vera at least uses sign language, Minazuki just stares or in the case of her Bankai growls, roars and snarls and her master understands what she’s saying. Unfortunately we’re not told what’s being said.

Itegumo

Isane Kotetsu's Zanpakuto spirit. Has light blue hair patterned to look like an upside lotus flower and has red eyes. She wears combat boots and a lilac body suit with clouds printed on it. She wears blue gloves with emeralds printed on the backs of them. She's an entire foot shorter than Isane. Though that's not difficult to be.

Yuna's Zanpakuto spirit. Takes the form of a maturely aged woman with blonde hair and silver eyes. She wears a green chest plate, sapphire metal boots with heels and red gauntlets.

Susanna's Zanpakuto spirit. He has silver hair and green eyes. He sports large gray wings and is dressed casually in all black with no shoes.

Tataki no Senshi

Shisato's Zanpakuto spirit. Is a snow tiger humanoid with blue shoes, with its claws bursting through the soles, and blue fingerless gloves as well as blue shorts.

• Animal Motifs: A snow tiger

Kyodai Bakudan

Kukaku's Zanpakuto spirit. Wears an all blue suit with white boots and has one white eye and an eyepatch over the other. Wears white shoulder pads too as well as a hood.

• And I Must Scream: Kyodai Bakudan mentions that by not awakening and not communicating with him for so many years Kukaku left him in a state of perpetual awareness, but no body and no inner world to explore. And for 90 years all he felt was itching.
• Expy: Did he just break the fourth wall and symbol swear? Plus the latex suit and the Blank White Eyes...did the author just create a Palette Swap of Deadpool?
  • It’s possibly intentional given that the actual Deadpool starts to say as much in the author’s notes only for the author to bribe him with a chimichanga

Kenpachi Zaraki's Zanpakuto spirit. Wears a sleeveless battle kimono and manly tights. Wears a cowboy hat and has a bushy beard and mustauche.

• Barehanded Blade Block: Except considering who he expies, he manages to do it with just his fore and middle finger.
• Did You Just Punch Out Cthulhu?: Considering the below trope and that Kenpachi is his master. This trope is in effect regardless of who won It's not Kenpachi.

Kaien's Zanpakuto spirit. Has light blue skin, a loosely fitting sea-green t-shirt that does not cover he midrift, and a long ocean-blue skirt with violet hues. She wears sandals with no socks and has long lavender hair. She has a fish fin running along the center of her cranium and elfish ears. Her eyes glow red.

Sode no Shirayuki

Rukia's Zanpakuto spirit. Has a reputation for being the most beautiful Zanpakuto in all of Soul Society.

Chi Kamisori

Vera's Zanpakuto spirit. Is covered in blood and her eyes, hair and shoe laces are all the color of said bodily liquid. She has her hair styled in pigtails with the ones in back longer than the ones in front. She's wearing a sleeveless skirt, long socks and sneakers.
