John Morrison/YMMV
- Base Breaker: The IWC likes him enough, but they're pretty divided as to whether or not John Morrison actually deserves a main event push. It's mostly because half of them see Morrison as a Spot Monkey while the other half doesn't.
- There's also the debate about whether his relationship with Melina is damaging to his career.
- And then, if that is the case, there's a debate about whether that's justified.
- There's also the debate about whether his relationship with Melina is damaging to his career.
- Crowning Moment of Heartwarming: John showed that he was a pretty decent guy by catching his rival Ted DiBiase's golddigger of a girlfriend, Maryse, who isn't too nice herself, and setting her down, putting off revenge and winning the Money in the Bank Ladder match just to do the right thing? It's good to see a face do something nice beyond praising the audience or looking better than the other guy.
- Apparently he apologized to Bret Hart for stealing his gimmick of handing out glasses at ringside.
- Demoted to Extra: Ever since his return from injury, he's been jobbing out to guys like R Truth on a regular basis.
- Draco in Leather Pants: More like Draco in Liberace's old Jazzercise gear, but it still applies.
- Ensemble Darkhorse: He's never won a world title, and he's never headlined a PPV. Despite this, he's probably the third most over Face on RAW, after Cena and Orton.
- And of course the fact that Morrison has had a cult following online since his ECW Championship reign.
- He has now headlined a PPV with Elimination Chamber 2011, and like the Royal Rumble the month before, he stole the show.
- Actually, he also headlined the previous Elimination Chamber PPV as well in the Smackdown Chamber, however, Morrison's never headlined a PPV in a singles match, so this still qualifies.
- Supposedly justified/handwaved/whatever in that he's apparently can be a little cocky or get drawn into politics backstage. On the other hand, this may not be a bad thing since prominent wrestlers before him have ended up in similar situations and come out the other end even better.
- Evil Is Sexy: As a heel. He even called himself The Shaman of Sexy.
- Holy Shit Quotient: He is, more or less, the benchmark of HSQ in the PG Era. Probably why he's getting so popular.
- Top rope moonsault with a ladder? Holy shit...
- Drew such a reaction from trainer Al Snow when he pulled off his standing SSP during his run on the reality show WWE Tough Enough 3.
- Royal Rumble 2011. Morrison gets flung from the ring, grabs the barricade, and manages to run along it back to the ring without his feet touching the ground once. Fans are already calling it the "Ninja Spot".
- The 1-31-11 episode of RAW featured a mini-Royal Rumble that saw Morrison avoid elimination in ways never seen before - including suspending himself off the ground by hooking the insteps of his feet around the bottom ring rope and hanging... without using his hands.
- His performance at the 2011 Elimination Chamber proved once and for all John Morrison shouldn't be wrestling... he should be out fighting crime.
- Internet Backdraft: See Replacement Scrappy. For the love of god, even you think he could be the next Shawn Michaels, don't mention it. It's not worth the headache.
- Also not wise to talk about his relationship with Melina, and whether or not his "snubbing Trish" justifies his recent depush.
- Love to Hate: As a heel, especially partnering with The Miz.
- Memetic Mutation: "John Morrison is Spiderman" is quickly becoming a massive meme.
- Memetic Sex God: At least half of the IWC at any given time is gay for him (at least partially). It's definitely those abs.
- To the point where it's been commented on at least one message board that it's not gay if it's JoMo.
- Memetic Mutation: Image macros with "Let us all take a moment to admire John Morrison's abs." or "You just stopped scrolling" will turn up whenever he makes his entrance.
- Replacement Scrappy: After some called John the next Shawn Michaels, the internet exploded in rage at the comparison.
- Played straight in Vengeance: Night of Champions 2007, when he replaced Chris Benoit.
- We Want Our Jerk Back: WWE is constantly trying to get him over as a face, but he thrives as a heel.
- Not really. While his promo work might have been better, Morrison's wrestling style is better suited for a Face, and he was massively over as one for the early part of 2011.
- It may be the reason he's stalled out recently. His wrestling style is very fan-friendly and face suitable, but his overwhelming strengths on the mic and with his persona are all very heelish. It's a weird combination of Rick Rude's attitude and Ricky Steamboat's high flying.
- He'd still be over if he was on TV. Most people think it has more to do with the Trish Stratus fracas that happened back in April.
